A short proof of the metrizability of $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces

The main purpose of this manuscript is to provide a short proof of the metrizability of $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces introduced by Jleli and Samet in \cite[\, Jleli, M. and Samet, B., On a new generalization of metric spaces, J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. (2018) 20:128]{JS1}.

Cantor's intersection theorem in the setting of $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces

This paper deals with an open problem posed by Jleli and Samet in \cite[\, M.~Jleli and B.~Samet, On a new generalization of metric spaces, J. Fixed Point Theory Appl, 20(3) 2018]{JS1}. In \cite[\, Remark 5.1]{JS1} They asked whether the Cantor's intersection theorem can be extended to $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces or not. In this manuscript we give an affirmative answer to this open question. We also show that the notions of compactness, totally boundedness in the setting of $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces are equivalent to that of usual metric spaces.

Some remarks on the metrizability of $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces

In this manuscript, we claim that the newly introduced $\mathcal{F}$-metric space \cite[\, M.~Jleli and B.~Samet, On a new generalization of metric spaces, J. Fixed Point Theory Appl, 20(3) 2018]{JS1} is metrizable. Also, we deduce that the notions of convergence, Cauchy sequence, completeness due to Jleli and Samet for $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces are equivalent with that of usual metric spaces. Moreover, we assert that the Banach contraction principle in the context of $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces is a direct consequence of its standard metric counterpart.

Topological developments of $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces

In this manuscript, we claim that the newly introduced $\mathcal{F}$-metric spaces are Hausdorff and also first countable. Moreover, we assert that every separable $\mathcal{F}$-metric space is second countable. Additionally, we acquire some interesting fixed point results concerning altering distance functions for contractive-type mappings and Kannan-type contractive mappings in this exciting context. However, most of the findings are well-furnished by several non-trivial numerical examples. Finally, we raise an open problem regarding the metrizability of such kind of spaces.

Common solution to a pair of non-linear matrix equations via fixed point results

In this article, we propose an idea to develop some sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a positive definite common solution to a pair of non-linear matrix equations. To proceed this, we present some interesting common fixed point results involving couple of altering distance functions along with some other control functions in Banach spaces. Based on these results, we deduce some desired sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a positive definite common solution to the said pair of non-linear matrix equations. We point out a probable applicable area of our findings.

The contractive principle for mappings in $b_v(s)$-metric spaces

In this article, we introduce the notions of sequentially compactness and boundedly compactness in the framework of a newly defined $b_v(s)$-metric space which is a generalization of usual metric spaces and several other abstract spaces. We establish correlations between sequentially compactness and boundedly compactness. Moreover, we prove some fixed point results of contractive mapping in this setting, from which we can deduce several analogous fixed point results. Finally, we illustrate some non-trivial examples to validate the significances and motivations of this manuscript.

Positive solution to fractional thermostat model in Banach spaces via fixed point results

The motive behind this manuscript is to set up the existence and uniqueness of a positive solution for a fractional thermostat model for certain values of the parameter $λ>0$. We accomplish sufficient conditions for the existence of a positive solution to the model, and afterwards formulate a non-trivial example to authenticate the grounds of our obtained results. Our findings are based on certain fixed point results of contractions depending on couple of altering distance functions $ϕ$ and $ψ$ in the setting of Banach spaces that are discussed in this sequel.

A study on Kannan type contractive mappings

In this article, we consider Kannan type contractive self-map $T$ on a metric space $(X,d)$ such that \[d(Tx,Ty)<\frac{1}{2}\{d(x,Tx)+d(y,Ty)\} \mbox{ for all } x \neq y \in X, \] and establish some new fixed point results without taking the compactness of $X$ and also without assuming continuity of $T$. Further, we anticipate a result ensuring the completeness of the space $X$ via FPP of this map. Finally, we are able to give an affirmative answer to the open question posed by J. Górnicki [\textit{Fixed point theorems for Kannan type mappings}, J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2017]. Apart from these, our manuscript consists of several non-trivial examples which signify the motivation of our investigations.

Relation-theoretic metrical fixed point results via w-distance with an application in nonlinear fractional differential equations

In this article, utilizing the concept of w-distance, we prove the celebrated Banach's fixed point theorem in metric spaces equipped with an arbitrary binary relation. Necessarily our findings unveil another direction of relation-theoretic metrical fixed point theory. Also, our paper consists of several non-trivial examples which signify the motivation for such investigations. Finally, our obtained results enable us to explore the existence and uniqueness of solutions of nonlinear fractional differential equations involving the Caputo fractional derivative.

A new approach of couple fixed point results on JS-metric spaces

In this article, we study coupled fixed point theorems in newly appeared JS-metric spaces. It is important to note that the class of JS-metric spaces includes standard metric space, dislocated metric space, b-metric space etc. The purpose of this paper is to present several coupled fixed point results in a more general way. Moreover, the techniques used in our proofs are indeed different from the comparable existing literature. Finally, we present a non- trivial example to validate our main result.

Fixed point results on θ-metric spaces via simulation functions

In a recent article, Khojasteh et al. introduced a new class of simulation functions, Z-contractions, with blending over known contractive conditions in the literature. Subsequently, in this paper, we extend and generalize the results on θ-metric context and we discuss some fixed point results in connection with existing ones. Also, we originate the notion of modified Z-contractions and explore the existence and uniqueness of fixed points of such functions on the said spaces. Finally we include examples to instantiate our main results.
