PTSD-MDNN : Fusion tardive de réseaux de neurones profonds multimodaux pour la détection du trouble de stress post-traumatique

In order to provide a more objective and quicker way to diagnose post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), we present PTSD-MDNN which merges two unimodal convolutional neural networks and which gives low detection error rate. By taking only videos and audios as inputs, the model could be used in the configuration of teleconsultation sessions, in the optimization of patient journeys or for human-robot interaction.

M&M: Multimodal-Multitask Model Integrating Audiovisual Cues in Cognitive Load Assessment

This paper introduces the M&M model, a novel multimodal-multitask learning framework, applied to the AVCAffe dataset for cognitive load assessment (CLA). M&M uniquely integrates audiovisual cues through a dual-pathway architecture, featuring specialized streams for audio and video inputs. A key innovation lies in its cross-modality multihead attention mechanism, fusing the different modalities for synchronized multitasking. Another notable feature is the model's three specialized branches, each tailored to a specific cognitive load label, enabling nuanced, task-specific analysis. While it shows modest performance compared to the AVCAffe's single-task baseline, M\&M demonstrates a promising framework for integrated multimodal processing. This work paves the way for future enhancements in multimodal-multitask learning systems, emphasizing the fusion of diverse data types for complex task handling.

Lattice Boltzmann Method for Heterogeneous Multi-class Traffic Flow

The traffic modelling often keeps the mesoscopic scale in the theoretical sphere because the integro-differential nature of its equations. In the present work we suggest to use the lattice Boltzmann method to overcome these difficulties. In particular, the method has a strong theoretical foundation. An improved version of the lattice Boltzmann method for multi-class and heterogeneities, has been introduced here. Its ability to reproduce the fundamental diagram is proved here, for both single-class and multi-class flows. This allows easily simulating complex and realistic cases of mixture of multi-class traffic flow. These simulations are able to capture jamming in various traffic situations such as road merging, reduction of number of lanes or change of speed limits.

Efficiency and comfort of knee braces: A parametric study based on computational modelling

Knee orthotic devices are widely proposed by physicians and medical practitioners for preventive or therapeutic objectives in relation with their effects, usually known as to stabilize joint or restrict ranges of motion. This study focuses on the understanding of force transfer mechanisms from the brace to the joint thanks to a Finite Element Model. A Design Of Experiments approach was used to characterize the stiffness and comfort of various braces in order to identify their mechanically influent characteristics. Results show conflicting behavior: influent parameters such as the brace size or textile stiffness improve performance in detriment of comfort. Thanks to this computational tool, novel brace designs can be tested and evaluated for an optimal mechanical efficiency of the devices and a better compliance of the patient to the treatment.

Using a Monte-Carlo-based approach to evaluate the uncertainty on fringe projection technique

A complete uncertainty analysis on a given fringe projection set-up has been performed using Monte-Carlo approach. In particular the calibration procedure is taken into account. Two applications are given: at a macroscopic scale, phase noise is predominant whilst at microscopic scale, both phase noise and calibration errors are important. Finally, uncertainty found at macroscopic scale is close to some experimental tests (~100 μm).

Influence of proteins from physiological solutions on the electrochemical behaviour of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy: reproducibility and time-frequency dependence. ---- Influence de la teneur en protéines de solutions physiologiques sur le comportement électrochimique du Ti-6Al-4V : reproductibilité et représentation temps-fréquence

The electrochemical behaviour of the biomedical and metallic alloys, especially in the orthopaedic implants fields, raises many questions. This study is dedicated for studying the Ti-6Al-4V alloy, by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, EIS, in various physiological media,: Ringer solution, phosphate buffered solution (PBS), PBS solution and albumin, PBS solution with calf serum and PBS solution with calf serum and an antioxidant (sodium azide). Moreover, the desionised water was considered as the reference solution. The tests reproducibility was investigated. The time-frequency-Module graphs highlighted that the desionised water is the most protective for the Ti-6Al-4V alloy. This biomedical alloy is the less protected in the solution constituted by PBS and albumin. The time-frequency graph allows pointing out the graphic signatures of adsorption for organic and inorganic species (differences between the modules means in studied solution and the modules mean in the reference solution).
