Wallis Products from the Four-Dimensional Singular Harmonic Oscillator

We present a variational derivation of the Wallis product and its reciprocal from the four-dimensional singular harmonic oscillator. The inverse-square interaction is absorbed into an effective angular parameter $\nu$, so that the lowest exact energy in a fixed sector is $E_{4d,\mathrm{exact}}=\hbar\omega(\nu+2)$. Motivated by the radial Kustaanheimo--Stiefel relation $r=\rho^2$ between the four-dimensional oscillator and the three-dimensional Coulomb problem, we use the quartic trial family $R_a(\rho)=N\rho^\nu e^{-a\rho^4}$. The minimized variational energy yields an accuracy ratio governed by adjacent Gamma functions. In the large-$\nu$ semiclassical limit, this ratio approaches unity. Restricting $\nu$ to the odd sequence $\nu=2n-1$ gives the standard Wallis product, whereas the even sequence $\nu=2n$ gives its reciprocal form. The Coulomb-dual interpretation further relates the two branches to integer and half-integer effective angular sectors in the dual Coulomb/MICZ description. The result shows that Wallis-type infinite products persist under an inverse-square deformation of the oscillator and arise from a common Gamma-function structure in radial variational dynamics.

Emergence of $\pi$ from Equatorial Quantum Localization

We present a genuinely non-radial quantum-mechanical route by which $\pi$ emerges from equatorial localization on the sphere. For the highest-weight branch of spherical harmonics, this localization is captured by a natural geometric rigidity index, whose exact finite-quantum-number value is a Wallis partial product. The mechanism is realized in two settings: the standard rigid rotor and the surface sector of a thin spherical shell, where radial freezing reduces the dynamics to the same angular problem. In the large-quantum-number limit, the probability cloud collapses toward the equator, the rigidity index approaches its classical value, and the Wallis formula is recovered through the correspondence principle. The result shows that Wallis-type structures in quantum mechanics can arise as exact signatures of semiclassical localization encoded by a simple geometric observable.

Quantum Realization of the Wallis Formula

We present a unified quantum-mechanical derivation of the Wallis formula from two solvable radial systems: the circular states of the three-dimensional isotropic harmonic oscillator and the lowest-radial-branch states of the planar Fock--Darwin problem, including the lowest Landau level sector. In both cases, the radial probability density has the exact form $P(r)\propto r^\nu e^{-\lambda r^2}$, which yields the scale-independent reciprocal observable $Q=\langle r\rangle\langle r^{-1}\rangle$. The two systems realize the even and odd half-integer Gamma-function branches of the same moment formula, so that the associated finite Wallis partial products are determined by $Q$ in one case and by $Q^{-1}$ in the other. In the large-angular-momentum regime, the corresponding states become localized on a thin spherical shell or a narrow annulus, with vanishing relative radial width, so that $Q\to1$ and both finite-product representations reduce to the Wallis formula for $\pi$.

AutoUE: Automated Generation of 3D Games in Unreal Engine via Multi-Agent Systems

Automatically generating 3D games in commercial game engines remains a non-trivial challenge, as it involves complex engine-related workflows for generating assets such as scenes, blueprints, and code. To address this challenge, we propose a novel multi-agent system, AutoUE, which coordinates multiple agents to end-to-end generate 3D games, covering model retrieval, scene generation, gameplay and interaction code synthesis, and automated game testing for evaluation. In order to mitigate tool-use hallucinations in LLMs, we introduce a retrieval-augmented generation mechanism that grounds agents with relevant UE tool documentation. Additionally, we incorporate game design patterns and engine constraints into the code generation process to ensure the generation of correct and robust code. Furthermore, we design an automated play-testing pipeline that generates and executes runtime test commands, enabling systematic evaluation of dynamic behaviors. Finally, we construct a game generation dataset and conduct a series of experiments that demonstrate AutoUE's ability to generate 3D games end-to-end, and validate the effectiveness of these designs.

Quantifying the AI Gap: A Comparative Index of Development in the United States and Chinese Regions

This study develops a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) Index with seven primary dimensions, designed for provincial-level and industry-specific analysis. We employ an anchor point method for data normalization, using fixed upper and lower bounds as benchmarks, and devise a hierarchical indicator weighting system that combines expert judgment with objective data. The index draws from authoritative data sources across domains including official statistics, patents and research outputs, education and talent, industrial economy, policy and governance, and social impact. The China-US comparison indicates that under a unified framework, the US composite score (68.1) exceeds China's (59.4). We further dissect China into seven main areas to form a sub-national index. The findings reveal stark regional disparities in China's AI development: the North, East, and South regions lead in composite scores, whereas central and western regions lag significantly, underscoring the effects of regional concentration of innovation and industry resources. This research provides an academic reference and decision support tool for government agencies and research institutions, informing more targeted regional AI development strategies.

First-principles Prediction of Potential Candidate Materials MCu$_3$X$_4$ (M = V, Nb, Ta; X = S, Se, Te) for Neuromorphic Computing

Inspired by the neuro-synaptic frameworks in the human brain, neuromorphic computing is expected to overcome the bottleneck of traditional von-Neumann architecture and be used in artificial intelligence. Here, we predict a class of potential candidate materials, MCu$_3$X$_4$ (M = V, Nb, Ta; X = S, Se, Te), for neuromorphic computing applications through first-principles calculations based on density functional theory. We find that when MCu$_3$X$_4$ are inserted with Li atom, the systems would transform from semiconductors to metals due to the considerable electron filling [~0.8 electrons per formula unit (f.u.)] and still maintain well structural stability. Meanwhile, the inserted Li atom also has a low diffusion barrier (~0.6 eV/f.u.), which ensures the feasibility to control the insertion/extraction of Li by gate voltage. These results establish that the system can achieve the reversible switching between two stable memory states, i.e., high/low resistance state, indicating that it could potentially be used to design synaptic transistor to enable neuromorphic computing. Our work provides inspiration for advancing the search of candidate materials related to neuromorphic computing from the perspective of theoretical calculations.

Chiral Magnetic Effect and Three-point Function from AdS/CFT Correspondence

The chiral magnetic effect with a fluctuating chiral imbalance is more realistic in the evolution of quark-gluon plasma, which reflects the random gluonic topological transition. Incorporating this dynamics, we calculate the chiral magnetic current in response to space-time dependent axial gauge potential and magnetic field in AdS/CFT correspondence. In contrast to conventional treatment of constant axial chemical potential, the response function here is the AVV three-point function of the $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills at strong coupling. Through an iterative solution of the nonlinear equations of motion in Schwarzschild-AdS$_5$ background, we are able to express the AVV function in terms of two Heun functions and prove its UV/IR finiteness, as expected for $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory. We found that the dependence of the chiral magnetic current on a non-constant chiral imbalance is non-local, different from hydrodynamic approximation, and demonstrates the subtlety of the infrared limit discovered in field theoretic approach. We expect our results enrich the understanding of the phenomenology of the chiral magnetic effect in the context of relativistic heavy ion collisions.

Extremal rotating black holes, scalar perturbation and superradiant stability

A (charged) rotating black hole may be unstable against a (charged) massive scalar field perturbation due to the existence of superradiance modes. The stability property depends on the parameters of the system. In this paper, the superradiant stable parameter space is studied for the four-dimensional extremal Kerr and Kerr-Newman black holes under massive and charged massive scalar perturbation. For the extremal Kerr case, it is found that when the angular frequency and proper mass of the scalar perturbation satisfy the inequality $ω<μ/\sqrt{3}$, the extremal Kerr black hole and scalar perturbation system is superradiantly stable. For the Kerr-Newman black hole case, when the angular frequency of the scalar perturbation satisfies $ω \frac{\sqrt{3 k^2+2} }{ \sqrt{k^2+2} },~k=\frac{a}{M}$, the extremal Kerr-Newman black hole is superradiantly stable under charged massive scalar perturbation.

A Holographic Static Transverse Polarization At Non-zero Temperatures

The analytical structure of a static transverse component of polarization tensor in complex momentum plane is numerically studied, which is holographically determined by a Einstein-Maxwell theory in asymptotically $D=3+1$ dimensional Anti-de Sitter spacetime. This strongly-coupled transverse polarization shows a pair of conjugate simple poles on the imaginary-axis at low temperature, which is different with the longitudinal component of the corresponding polarization and the counterpart in its weakly-coupled version.

SolarNet: A Deep Learning Framework to Map Solar Power Plants In China From Satellite Imagery

Renewable energy such as solar power is critical to fight the ever more serious climate change. China is the world leading installer of solar panel and numerous solar power plants were built. In this paper, we proposed a deep learning framework named SolarNet which is designed to perform semantic segmentation on large scale satellite imagery data to detect solar farms. SolarNet has successfully mapped 439 solar farms in China, covering near 2000 square kilometers, equivalent to the size of whole Shenzhen city or two and a half of New York city. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time that we used deep learning to reveal the locations and sizes of solar farms in China, which could provide insights for solar power companies, market analysts and the government.

Holographic Magnetic Susceptibility

The (2+1)-dimensional static magnetic susceptibility in strong-coupling is studied via a Reissner-Nordström-AdS geometry. The analyticity of the susceptibility on the complex momentum $\mathfrak{q}$-plane in relation to the Friedel-like oscillation in coordinate space is explored. In contrast to the branch-cuts crossing the real momentum-axis for a Fermi liquid, we prove that the holographic magnetic susceptibility remains an analytic function of the complex momentum around the real axis in the limit of zero temperature, At zero temperature, we located analytically two pairs of branch-cuts that are parallel to the imaginary momentum-axis for large $|\text{Im}\ \mathfrak{q}|$ but become warped with the end-points keeping away from the real and imaginary momentum-axes. We conclude that these branch-cuts give rise to the exponential decay behaviour of Friedel-like oscillation of magnetic susceptibility in coordinate space. We also derived the analytical forms of the susceptibility in large and small-momentum, respectively.

Momentum analyticity of the holographic electric polarizability in 2+1 dimensions

The static electric polarization of a holographic field theory dual to the Einstein-Maxwell theory in the background of $AdS_4$ with a Reissner-Nordstöm (AdS-RN) black hole is investigated. We prove that the holographic polarization is a meromorphic functions in complex momentum plane and locate analytically the asymptotic distribution of the poles along two straight lines parallel to the imaginary axis for a large momentum magnitude. The results are compared with the numerical result on Friedel-like poles of the same holographic model reported in the literature and with the momentum singularities of the one-loop polarization in weak-coupling spinor QED$_3$ and scalar QED$_3$ with the similarities and differences discussed.

Momentum Analyticity of Transverse Polarization Tensor in the Normal Phase of a Holographic Superconductor

We explore the momentum analyticity of the static transverse polarization tensor of a 2+1 dimensional holographic superconductor in its normal phase with a nonzero chemical potential, aiming at finding the holographic counterpart of the singularities underlying the Friedel-like oscillations of an ordinary field theory. We prove that the polarization tensor is a meromorphic function with an infinite number of poles located on the complex momentum plane off real axis. With the aid of the WKB approximation these poles are found to lies asymptotically along two straight lines parallel to the imaginary axis for a large momentum magnitude. The similarity between the holographic Green's function and that of an weakly coupled ordinary field theory (e.g., 2+1 dimensional QED) regarding the location of the momentum singularities offers further support to the validity of the gauge/gravity duality.

The Ginzburg-Landau Theory of a Holographic Superconductor

The general Ginzburg-Landau formulation of a holographic superconductor is developed near the transition temperature in the probe limit for two kinds of conformal dimension. Below the transition temperature, $T<T_c$, the order-parameter scales with $\sqrt{1-\frac{T}{T_c}}$ as expected. The G-L free energy in grand caonnical ensemble and canonical ensemble are derived and the gradient term is studied. Furthermore this scaling coefficient of order-parameter takes different values in the grand canonical ensemble and the canonical ensemble, suggesting the strong coupling nature of the boundary field theory of the superconductiviy.

The Subleading Term of the Strong Coupling Expansion of the Heavy-Quark Potential in a $\mathcal N=4$ Super Yang-Mills Plasma

Applying the AdS/CFT correspondence, the expansion of the heavy-quark potential of the ${\cal N}$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory at large $N_c$ is carried out to the sub-leading term in the large 't Hooft coupling at nonzero temperatures. The strong coupling corresponds to the semi-classical expansion of the string-sigma model, the gravity dual of the Wilson loop operator, with the sub-leading term expressed in terms of functional determinants of fluctuations. The contributions of these determinants are evaluated numerically.
