Time-restricted sensitivity and entropy

In this paper, we consider measure-theoretical restricted sensitivity and topological restricted sensitivities by restricting the first sensitive time. For a given topological dynamical system, we define measure-theoretical restricted asymptotic rate with respect to sensitivity, and obtain that it equal to the reciprocal of the Brin-Katok local entropy for almost every point. For topological version we have similar definitions and conclusions.

Polynomial mean complexity and Logarithmic Sarnak conjecture

In this paper, we reduce the logarithmic Sarnak conjecture to the $\{0,1\}$-symbolic systems with polynomial mean complexity. By showing that the logarithmic Sarnak conjecture holds for any topologically dynamical system with sublinear complexity, we provide a variant of the $1$-Fourier uniformity conjecture, where the frequencies are restricted to any subset of $[0,1]$ with packing dimension less than one.

Weak Horseshoe with bounded-gap-hitting times

In this paper, we consider weak horseshoe with bounded-gap-hitting times. For a flow $(M,ϕ)$, it is shown that if the time one map $(M,ϕ_1)$ has weak horseshoe with bounded-gap-hitting times, so is $(M,ϕ_τ)$ for all $τ\neq 0$. In addition, we prove that for an affine homeomorphsim of a compact metric abelian group, positive topological entropy is equivalent to weak horseshoe with bounded-gap-hitting times.

Topological entropy of nonautonomous dynamical systems

Let $\mathcal{M}(X)$ be the space of Borel probability measures on a compact metric space $X$ endowed with the weak$^\ast$-topology. In this paper, we prove that if the topological entropy of a nonautonomous dynamical system $(X,\{f_n\}_{n=1}^{+\infty})$ vanishes, then so does that of its induced system $(\mathcal{M}(X),\{f_n\}_{n=1}^{+\infty})$; moreover, once the topological entropy of $(X,\{f_n\}_{n=1}^{+\infty})$ is positive, that of its induced system $(\mathcal{M}(X),\{f_n\}_{n=1}^{+\infty})$ jumps to infinity. In contrast to Bowen's inequality, we construct a nonautonomous dynamical system whose topological entropy is not preserved under a finite-to-one extension.

Ergodic optimization theory for Axiom A flows

In this article, we consider the weighted ergodic optimization problem Axiom A attractors of a $C^2$ flow on a compact smooth manifold. The main result obtained in this paper is that for a generic observable from function space $\mc C^{0,\a}$ ($\a\in(0,1]$) or $\mc C^1$ the minimizing measure is unique and is supported on a periodic orbit.

Ergodic optimization theory for a class of typical maps

In this article, we consider the weighted ergodic optimization problem of a class of dynamical systems $T:X\to X$ where $X$ is a compact metric space and $T$ is Lipschitz continuous. We show that once $T:X\to X$ satisfies both the {\em Anosov shadowing property }({\bf ASP}) and the {\em Mañé-Conze-Guivarc'h-Bousch property }({\bf MCGBP}), the minimizing measures of generic Hölder observables are unique and supported on a periodic orbit. Moreover, if $T:X\to X$ is a subsystem of a dynamical system $f:M\to M$ (i.e. $X\subset M$ and $f|_X=T$) where $M$ is a compact smooth manifold, the above conclusion holds for $C^1$ observables. Note that a broad class of classical dynamical systems satisfies both ASP and MCGBP, which includes {\em Axiom A attractors, Anosov diffeomorphisms }and {\em uniformly expanding maps}. Therefore, the open problem proposed by Yuan and Hunt in \cite{YH} for $C^1$-observables is solved consequentially.

Bounded complexity, mean equicontinuity and discrete spectrum

We study dynamical systems which have bounded complexity with respect to three kinds metrics: the Bowen metric $d_n$, the max-mean metric $\hat{d}_n$ and the mean metric $\bar{d}_n$, both in topological dynamics and ergodic theory. It is shown that a topological dynamical system $(X,T)$ has bounded complexity with respect to $d_n$ (resp. $\hat{d}_n$) if and only if it is equicontinuous (resp. equicontinuous in the mean). However, we construct minimal systems which have bounded complexity with respect to $\bar{d}_n$ but not equicontinuous in the mean. It turns out that an invariant measure $μ$ on $(X,T)$ has bounded complexity with respect to $d_n$ if and only if $(X,T)$ is $μ$-equicontinuous. Meanwhile, it is shown that $μ$ has bounded complexity with respect to $\hat{d}_n$ if and only if $μ$ has bounded complexity with respect to $\bar{d}_n$ if and only if $(X,T)$ is $μ$-mean equicontinuous if and only if it has discrete spectrum.

Asymptotic pairs, stable sets and chaos in positive entropy systems

We consider positive entropy $G$-systems for certain countable, discrete, infinite left-orderable amenable groups $G$. By undertaking local analysis, the existence of asymptotic pairs and chaotic sets will be studied in connecting with the stable sets. Examples are given for the case of integer lattice groups, the Heisenberg group, and the groups of integral unipotent upper triangular matrices.
