Comment on "Single-mode excited entangled coherent states"

In Xu and Kuang (\textit{J. Phys. A: Math. Gen.} 39 (2006) L191), the authors claim that, for single-mode excited entangled coherent states $| Ψ_{\pm}(α,m)>$, \textquotedblleft the photon excitations lead to the decrease of the concurrence in the strong field regime of $| α| ^{2}$ and the concurrence tends to zero when $| α| ^{2}\to \infty$". This is wrong.

Entropy-variation with respect to the resistance in quantized RLC circuit derived by generalized Hellmann-Feynman theorem

By virtue of the generalized Hellmann-Feynman theorem for ensemble average, we obtain internal energy and average energy consumed by the resistance R in a quantized RLC electric circuit. We also calculate entropy-variation with respect to R. The relation between entropy and R is also derived. By depicting figures we indeed see that the entropy increases with the increment of R.

Generalized thermo vacuum state derived by the partial trace method

By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators we present a new approach for deriving generalized thermo vacuum state which is simpler in form that the result by using the Umezawa-Takahashi approach, in this way the thermo field dynamics can be developed. Applications of the new state are discussed.

Time evolution of Wigner function in laser process derived by entangled state representation

Evaluating the Wigner function of quantum states in the entangled state representation is introduced, based on which we present a new approach for deriving time evolution formula of Wigner function in laser process. Application of this fomula to calculating time evolution of photon number is also presented, as an example, the case when the initial state is photon-added coherent state is discussed.

New application of Dirac's representation: N-mode squeezing enhanced operator and squeezed state

It is known that exp[i\lamda(Q_1P_1-i/2)] is a unitary single-mode squeezing operator, where Q_1,P_1 are the coordinate and momentum operators, respectively. In this paper we employ Dirac's coordinate representation to prove that the exponential operator S_{n}=Exp[i\lamda sum_{i=1}^{n}](Q_{i}P_{i+1}+Q_{i+1}P_{i}))], (Q_{n+1}=Q_1P_{n+1}=P_1), is a n-mode squeezing operator which enhances the standard squeezing. By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators we derive S_{n}'s normally ordered expansion and obtain new n-mode squeezed vacuum states, its Wigner function is calculated by using the Weyl ordering invariance under similar transformations.

Optical transformation from chirplet to fractional Fourier transformation kernel

We find a new integration transformation which can convert a chirplet function to fractional Fourier transformation kernel, this new transformation is invertible and obeys Parseval theorem. Under this transformation a new relationship between a phase space function and its Weyl-Wigner quantum correspondence operator is revealed.

New n-mode squeezing operator and squeezed states with standard squeezing

We find that the exponential operator V=exp[ilamda (Q_1P_2+Q_2P_3+...+Q_{n-1}P_{n}+Q_{n}P_1)], Q_{i}, P_{i} are respectively the coordinate and momentum operators, is an n-mode squeezing operator which engenders standard squeezing. By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators we derive V's normally ordered expansion and obtain the n-mode squeezed vacuum states, its Wigner function is calculated by using the Weyl ordering invariance under similar transformations.

Wigner functions of thermo number state, photon subtracted and added thermo vacuum state at finite temperature

Based on Takahashi-Umezawa thermo field dynamics and the order-invariance of Weyl ordered operators under similar transformations, we present a new approach to deriving the exact Wigner functions of thermo number state, photon subtracted and added thermo vacuum state. We find that these Wigner functions are related to the Gaussian-Laguerre type functions of temperature, whose statistical properties are then analysed.

Collins diffraction formula and the Wigner function in entangled state representation

Based on the correspondence between Collins diffraction formula (optical Fresnel transform) and the transformation matrix element of a three-parameters two-mode squeezing operator in the entangled state representation (Opt. Lett. 31 (2006) 2622) we further explore the relationship between output field intensity determined by the Collins formula and the input field's probability distribution along an infinitely thin phase space strip both in spacial domain and frequency domain. The entangled Wigner function is introduced for recapitulating the result.

Symplectic-dilation mixed wavelet transform and its correspondence in quantum optics

The symplectic wavelet transformation [Opt. Lett. 31 (2006) 3432], which is related to quantum optical Fresnel transform, is developed to the symplectic-dilation mixed wavelet transform (SDWT). The SDWT involves both a real-variable dilation-transform and a complex-variable symplectic transform, and possesses well-behaved properties such as Parseval theorem and inversion formula. The entangled-coherent state representation (ESCR) not only underlies the SDWT, but also helps to derive the corresponding quantum transform operator whose counterpart in classical optics is the lens-Fresnel mixed transform [Phys. Lett. A 357 (2006) 163].

Relation between Fresnel transform of input light field and Radon transform of Wigner function of the field

We prove a new theorem about the relationship between optical field Wigner function's Radon transform and optical Fresnel transform of the field, i.e., when an input field Phi(x') propagates through an optical [D(-B)(-C)A] system, the energy density of the output field is equal to the Radon transform of the Wigner function of the input field, where the Radon transform parameters are D,B. We prove this theorem in both spatial-domain and frequency-domain.

Density matrix of the superposition of excitation on coherent states with thermal light and its statistical properties

A beam's density matrix that is described by the superposition of excitation on coherent states with thermal noise (SECST) is presented, and its matrix elements in Fock space are calculated. The maximum information transmitted by the SECST beam is derived. It is more than that by coherent light beam and increases as the excitation photon number increases. In addition, the nonclassicality of density matrix is demonstrated by calculating its Wigner function.

Relation between quantum tomography and optical Fresnel transform

Corresponding to optical Fresnel transformation characteristic of ray transfer matrix elements (A;B;C;D); AD-BC = 1, there exists Fresnel operator F(A;B;C;D) in quantum optics, we show that under the Fresnel transformation the pure position density |x> _rs,rs_ _rs,rs_ is just the wave function of its Fresnel transformed state F|phi>, i.e. rs_ = . Similarly, we find F|p> _rs,rs_<p|= \int dx'dp'delta[x-(Ap'-Cx')]*Wigner operator.
