Superintegrable families of magnetic monopoles with non-radial potential in curved background

We review some known results on the superintegrability of monopole systems in the three-dimensional (3D) Euclidean space and in the 3D generalized Taub-NUT spaces. We show that these results can be extended to certain curved backgrounds that, for suitable choice of the domain of the coordinates, can be related via conformal transformations to systems in Taub-NUT spaces. These include the multi-fold Kepler systems as special cases. The curvature of the space is not constant and depends on a rational parameter that is also related to the order of the integrals. New results on minimal superintegrability when the electrostatic potential depends on both radial and angular variables are also presented.

New classes of quadratically integrable systems with velocity dependent potentials: non-subgroup type cases

We study quadratic integrability of systems with velocity dependent potentials in three-dimensional Euclidean space. Unlike in the case with only scalar potential, quadratic integrability with velocity dependent potentials does not imply separability in the configuration space. The leading order terms in the pairs of commuting integrals can either generalize or have no relation to the forms leading to separation in the absence of a vector potential. We call such pairs of integrals generalized, to distinguish them from the standard ones, which would correspond to separation. Here we focus on three cases of generalized non-subgroup type integrals, namely elliptic cylindrical, prolate / oblate spheroidal and circular parabolic integrals, together with one case not related to any coordinate system. We find two new integrable systems, non-separable in the configuration space, both with generalized elliptic cylindrical integrals. In the other cases, all systems found were already known and possess standard pairs of integrals. In the limit of vanishing vector potential, both systems reduce to free motion and therefore separate in every orthogonal coordinate system.

Family of nonstandard integrable and superintegrable classical Hamiltonian systems in non-vanishing magnetic fields

In this paper we present the construction of all nonstandard integrable systems in magnetic fields whose integrals have leading order structure corresponding to the case (i) of Theorem 1 in [A Marchesiello and L Šnobl 2022 {\it J. Phys. A: Math. Theor.} {\bf 55} 145203]. We find that the resulting systems can be written as one family with several parameters. For certain limits of these parameters the system belongs to intersections with already known standard systems separating in Cartesian and / or cylindrical coordinates and the number of independent integrals of motion increases, thus the system becomes minimally superintegrable. These results generalize the particular example presented in section 3 of [A Marchesiello and L Šnobl 2022 {\it J. Phys. A: Math. Theor.} {\bf 55} 145203].

Cylindrical first order superintegrability with complex magnetic fields

This article is a contribution to the study of superintegrable Hamiltonian systems with magnetic fields on the three-dimensional Euclidean space $\mathbb{E}_3$ in quantum mechanics. In contrast to the growing interest in complex electromagnetic fields in the mathematical community following the experimental confirmation of its physical relevance [X. Peng et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 114 (2015)], they were so far not addressed in the growing literature on superintegrability. Here we venture into this field by searching for additional first order integrals of motion to the integrable systems of cylindrical type. We find that already known systems can be extended into this realm by admitting complex coupling constants. In addition to them, we find one new system whose integrals of motion also feature complex constants. All these systems are multiseparable. Rigorous mathematical analysis of these systems is challenging due to the non-Hermitian setting and lost gauge invariance. We proceed formally and pose the resolution of these problems as an open challenge.

On superintegrability of 3D axially-symmetric non-subgroup-type systems with magnetic fields

We extend the investigation of three-dimensional (3D) Hamiltonian systems of non-subgroup type admitting non-zero magnetic fields and an axial symmetry, namely the circular parabolic case, the oblate spheroidal case and the prolate spheroidal case. More precisely, we focus on linear and some special cases of quadratic superintegrability. In the linear case, no new superintegrable system arises. In the quadratic case, we found one new minimally superintegrable system that lies at the intersection of the circular parabolic and cylindrical cases and another one at the intersection of the cylindrical, spherical, oblate spheroidal and prolate spheroidal cases. By imposing additional conditions on these systems, we found for each quadratically minimally superintegrable system a new infinite family of higher-order maximally superintegrable systems. These two systems are linked respectively with the caged and harmonic oscillators without magnetic fields through a time-dependent canonical transformation.

Classical Superintegrable Systems in a Magnetic Field that Separate in Cartesian Coordinates

We consider superintegrability in classical mechanics in the presence of magnetic fields. We focus on three-dimensional systems which are separable in Cartesian coordinates. We construct all possible minimally and maximally superintegrable systems in this class with additional integrals quadratic in the momenta. Together with the results of our previous paper [J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 50 (2017), 245202, 24 pages], where one of the additional integrals was by assumption linear, we conclude the classification of three-dimensional quadratically minimally and maximally superintegrable systems separable in Cartesian coordinates. We also describe two particular methods for constructing superintegrable systems with higher-order integrals.

Cylindrical type integrable classical systems in a magnetic field

We present all second order classical integrable systems of the cylindrical type in a three dimensional Euclidean space $\mathbb{E}_3$ with a nontrivial magnetic field. The Hamiltonian and integrals of motion have the form $H =\frac{1}{2}\left(\vec{p}+\vec{A}(\vec{x})\right)^2+W(\vec{x})$, $X_1=(p_ϕ^A)^2+s_1^r(r, ϕ, Z)p_r^A+s_1^ϕ(r, ϕ, Z)p_ϕ^A+s_1^Z(r, ϕ, Z)p_Z^A+m_1(r,ϕ,Z)$, $X_2=(p_Z^A)^2+s_2^r(r, ϕ, Z)p_r^A+s_2^ϕ(r, ϕ, Z)p_ϕ^A+s_2^Z(r, ϕ, Z)p_Z^A+m_2(r,ϕ,Z)$. Infinite families of such systems are found, in general depending on arbitrary functions or parameters. This leaves open the possibility of finding superintegrable systems among the integrable ones (i.e. systems with 1 or 2 additional independent integrals).

On rotationally invariant integrable and superintegrable classical systems in magnetic fields with non-subgroup type integrals

The aim of the present article is to construct quadratically integrable three dimensional systems in non-vanishing magnetic fields which possess so-called non-subgroup type integrals. The presence of such integrals means that the system possesses a pair of integrals of motion in involution which are (at most) quadratic in momenta and whose leading order terms, that are necessarily elements of the enveloping algebra of the Euclidean algebra, are not quadratic Casimir operators of a chain of its subalgebras. By imposing in addition that one of the integrals has the leading order term $L_z^2$ we can consider three such commuting pairs: circular parabolic, oblate spheroidal and prolate spheroidal. We find all possible integrable systems possessing such structure of commuting integrals and describe their Hamiltonians and their integrals. We show that our assumptions imply the existence of a first order integral $L_z $, i.e. rotational invariance, of all such systems. As a consequence, the Hamilton--Jacobi equation of each of these systems with magnetic field separates in the corresponding coordinate system, as it is known to be the case for all quadratically integrable systems without magnetic field, and in contrast with the subgroup type, i.e. Cartesian, spherical and cylindrical, cases, with magnetic fields. We also look for superintegrable systems within the circular parabolic integrable class. Assuming the additional integral to be first order we demonstrate that only previously known systems exist. However, for a particular second order ansatz for the sought integral ($L^2+\ldots$) we find a minimally quadratically superintegrable system. It is not quadratically maximally superintegrable but appears to possess bounded closed trajectories, hinting at hypothetical higher order superintegrability.

An Infinite Family of Maximally Superintegrable Systems in a Magnetic Field with Higher Order Integrals

We construct an additional independent integral of motion for a class of three dimensional minimally superintegrable systems with constant magnetic field. This class was introduced in [J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 50 (2017), 245202, 24 pages] and it is known to possess periodic closed orbits. In the present paper we demonstrate that it is maximally superintegrable. Depending on the values of the parameters of the system, the newly found integral can be of arbitrarily high polynomial order in momenta.
