Privacy-enhanced federated learning via asynchronous aggregation and local differential perturbation

This study proposes a privacy-enhanced federated learning framework to address secure collaborative training in distributed data environments. The framework integrates Dynamic Differential Privacy (DDP), lightweight Homomorphic Encryption (HE), and Local Differential Privacy (LDP) mechanisms to ensure data privacy protection during model training. Additionally, the framework employs an asynchronous aggregation strategy with version control to support distributed training in asynchronous environments. Experimental validation on the CIFAR-10 and Purchase-100 benchmark datasets demonstrates that the method maintains high classification accuracy (up to 82.6%) even under stringent privacy constraints (ε = 0.1), while reducing communication overhead by 21.3% compared to FedAvg. Experimental results demonstrate that this framework effectively balances privacy protection and model performance in distributed machine learning scenarios, providing a scalable technical foundation for large-scale distributed collaborative computing.

ACE-Sync: An Adaptive Cloud-Edge Synchronization Framework for Communication-Efficient Large-Scale Distributed Model Training

Large-scale deep learning models impose substantial communication overh ead in distributed training, particularly in bandwidth-constrained or heterogeneous clo ud-edge environments. Conventional synchronous or fixed-compression techniques o ften struggle to balance communication cost, convergence stability, and model accura cy. To address these challenges, we propose ACE-Sync, an Adaptive Cloud-Edge Sy nchronization Framework that integrates (1) an attention-based gradient importance p redictor, (2) a differentiated parameter compression strategy, and (3) a hierarchical cl oud-edge coordination mechanism. ACE-Sync dynamically selects which parameter groups to synchronize and determines appropriate compression levels under per-devic e bandwidth budgets. A knapsack-based optimization strategy is adopted to maximize important gradient preservation while reducing redundant communication. Furthermo re, residual-based error compensation and device clustering ensure long-term converg ence and cross-device personalization. Experiments show that ACE-Sync substantiall y reduces communication overhead while maintaining competitive accuracy. Compar ed with FullSync, ACE-Sync lowers communication cost from 112.5 GB to 44.7 GB (a 60% reduction) and shortens convergence from 41 to 39 epochs. Despite aggressiv e communication reduction, ACE-Sync preserves high model quality, achieving 82. 1% Top-1 accuracy-only 0.3% below the full-synchronization baseline-demonstrating its efficiency and scalability for large-scale distributed training. These results indicate that ACE-Sync provides a scalable, communication-efficient, and accuracy-preservin g solution for large-scale cloud-edge distributed model training.

CAMF: Collaborative Adversarial Multi-agent Framework for Machine Generated Text Detection

Detecting machine-generated text (MGT) from contemporary Large Language Models (LLMs) is increasingly crucial amid risks like disinformation and threats to academic integrity. Existing zero-shot detection paradigms, despite their practicality, often exhibit significant deficiencies. Key challenges include: (1) superficial analyses focused on limited textual attributes, and (2) a lack of investigation into consistency across linguistic dimensions such as style, semantics, and logic. To address these challenges, we introduce the \textbf{C}ollaborative \textbf{A}dversarial \textbf{M}ulti-agent \textbf{F}ramework (\textbf{CAMF}), a novel architecture using multiple LLM-based agents. CAMF employs specialized agents in a synergistic three-phase process: \emph{Multi-dimensional Linguistic Feature Extraction}, \emph{Adversarial Consistency Probing}, and \emph{Synthesized Judgment Aggregation}. This structured collaborative-adversarial process enables a deep analysis of subtle, cross-dimensional textual incongruities indicative of non-human origin. Empirical evaluations demonstrate CAMF's significant superiority over state-of-the-art zero-shot MGT detection techniques.
