AstroSkyFlow: an astronomical sky image flow simulator for time domain survey validation and machine learning

Modern time-domain optical surveys produce massive data volumes that require robust, high-fidelity simulated datasets for developing and validating automated pipelines and machine-learning models. We present AstroSkyFlow, a modular sky-image simulator that generates on-demand, time-dependent flux variations and models the full observing stack, from celestial sources and atmospheric effects to sensor response. Given a simulated observing schedule, AstroSkyFlow produces multi-epoch, time-series images with realistic noise and variability. Compared to real observational data, AstroSkyFlow reproduces noise characteristics and point spread function properties more accurately than the widely used SkyMaker simulator. In addition, AstroSkyFlow successfully recovers injected photometric and motion signals, such as exoplanet transits and asteroid trails. AstroSkyFlow enables the generation of labeled, high-fidelity datasets essential for training machine-learning pipelines and conducting rigorous injection-recovery tests for analysis pipelines for next-generation time-domain surveys.

An Automated Photometric Pipeline for the 80cm Xizang University Telescope

Processing astronomical data can take up a significant amount of researchers' time. The 80cm telescope at Xizang University is currently in its trial operation phase; however, it lacks a data processing program, which makes efficient handling of the data it generates an urgent concern. To address this issue, we have developed an automatic pipeline for processing photometric data and extracting light curves using Python 3. This pipeline has several advantages, including high speed, ease of use, and modularity. The differential photometric accuracy of this pipeline is comparable to that of data processing programs used by other similar telescopes. This development effectively overcomes the limitations of manually processing data, providing efficient and reliable support for future studies of variable stars. The pipeline has already been integrated into the telescope's operational system.

The first photometric investigation of the contact binary OQ Cam

The first charge-coupled device photometric light curves in B, V, R${_c}$, and I${_c}$ bands of the short-period contact binary star OQ Cam are presented. Through analyzing the light curves with the Wilson-Devinney code, it is found that OQ Cam is a W-type shallow contact binary star with a contact degree of f =20.2%. Based on the O-C analyzing, the orbit period displays a long term increasing with a rate of $dP/dt=4.40\times10{^{-7}} day \cdot year{^{-1}}$. The increasing in orbit period can be interpreted by mass transfer from the less massive component to the more massive one. As the orbit period increasing, OQ Cam would evolve from the present shallow contact configuration to a none contact stage. So it may be a potential candidate to confirm the thermal relaxation oscillation theory.

Two twin binaries with nearly identical components: KIC 4826439 and KIC 6045264

Two twin binaries, KIC 4826439 and KIC 6045264, with very similar component stars were found photometrically based on $\textit{Kepler}$ eclipsing binary light curves. The absolute parameters of the massive components are 1.156(0.03)$M_\odot$, 1.881(0.02)$R_\odot$, 6065K for KIC 4826439, and 0.874(0.3)$M_\odot$, 1.206(0.02)$R_\odot$, 6169(30)K for KIC 6045264. The differences between the components are less than two percents for all the parameters. A very low proportion of the twin binaries ($2/1592\approx0.13\%$) was found, which does not support the previous findings of the excesses of twins on binary mass ratio distribution, but support a deficiently low proportion of twins. A new method is practiced to work out the absolute parameters of the two twins without the radial velocities. This method requires the solution of the light curves, the spectra and the evolutionary isochrones of covering the complete stellar parameter space, simultaneously. We also studied their evolution tracks that: KIC 4826439 will experience an unstable mass transfer stage followed by an unclear ending, and KIC 6045264 will become a single star via an over-contact phase. It seems highly unlikely that the two twin binaries will produce twin degenerate binaries, although they have quite similar components.
