The complete dynamics description of positively curved metrics in the Wallach flag manifold $\mathrm{SU}(3)/\mathrm{T}^2$

The family of invariant Riemannian manifolds in the Wallach flag manifold $\mathrm{SU}(3)/\mathrm{T}^2$ is described by three parameters $(x,y,z)$ of positive real numbers. By restricting such a family of metrics in the \emph{tetrahedron} $\cal{T}:= x+y+z = 1$, in this paper, we describe all regions $\cal R \subset \cal T$ admitting metrics with curvature properties varying from positive sectional curvature to positive scalar curvature, including positive intermediate curvature notion's. We study the dynamics of such regions under the \emph{projected Ricci flow} in the plane $(x,y)$, concluding sign curvature maintenance and escaping. In addition, we obtain some results for positive intermediate Ricci curvature for a path of metrics on fiber bundles over $\mathrm{SU}(3)/\mathrm{T}^2$, further studying its evolution under the Ricci flow on the base.

Scalar curvatures of invariant almost Hermitian structures on flag manifolds with two and three isotropic summands

In this paper we study invariant almost Hermitian geometry on generalized flag manifolds which the isotropy representation decompose into two or three irreducible components. We will provide a classification of such flag manifolds admitting Kähler like scalar curvature metric, that is, almost Hermitian structures $(g,J)$ satisfying $s=2s_C$ where $s$ is Riemannian scalar curvature and $s_C$ is the Chern scalar curvature.

The concept of Cheeger deformations on fiber bundles with compact structure group

The purpose of this paper is two-fold: we systematically introduce the notion of Cheeger deformations on fiber bundles with compact structure groups, and recover in a very simple and unified fashion several results that either already appear in the literature or are known by experts, though are not explicitly written elsewhere. We re-prove: Schwachhöfer--Tuschmann Theorem on bi-quotients, many results due to Fukaya and Yamaguchi, as well as, naturally extend the work of Searle--Solórzano--Wilhelm on regularization properties of Cheeger deformations, among others. In this sense, this paper should be understood as a survey intended to demonstrate the power of Cheeger deformations. Even though some of the results here appearing may not be known as stated in the presented form, they were already expected, being our contribution to the standardization and spread of the technique via a unique language.

Twisted Kähler-Einstein metrics on flag varieties

In this paper, we describe invariant twisted Kähler-Einstein (tKE) metrics on flag varieties. We also explore some applications of the ideas involved in the proof of our main result to the existence of invariant twisted constant scalar curvature Kähler metrics. Also, we provide a precise description for the greatest Ricci lower bound of an arbitrary Kähler class on a flag variety. By means of this description, we establish some inequalities related to optimal volume upper bounds for Kähler metrics just using tools from Lie theory. Further, we describe the set of tKE metrics for several examples, including full flag varieties, the projectivization of the tangent bundle of $\mathbb{P}^{n+1}$, and families of flag varieties with Picard number $2$.

Geodesics on adjoint orbits of $SL(n, \mathbb{R})$

In this paper we study geodesics on adjoint orbits of $SL(n,\mathbb{R})$ equipped with $SO(n)$-invariant metrics (maximal compact subgroup). Our main technique is translate this problem into a geometric problem in the tangent bundle of certain $SO(n)$-flag manifolds and describe the geodesics equations with respect to the Sasaki metric on tangent bundle. We also use tools of Lie Theory in order to obtain some explicit description of families of geodesics. We deal with the case of $SL(2,\mathbb{R})$ in full details.

The projected homogeneous Ricci flow and three-isotropy-summands flag manifolds

The Ricci flow was introduced by Hamilton and gained its importance through the years. Of special importance is the limiting behavior of the flow and its symmetry properties. Taking this into account, we present a novel normalization for the homogeneous Ricci flow with natural compactness properties. In addition, we present a characterization for Gromov-Hausdorff limits of homogeneous spaces. As a result, we present a detailed picture of the homogeneous Ricci flow for three-isotropy-summands flag manifolds: phase portraits, basins of attractions, conjugation classes and collapsing phenomena. Moreover, we achieve a full classification of the possible Gromov-Hausdorff limits of the aforementioned lines of flow.

Lax formalism for Gelfand-Tsetlin integrable systems

In the present work, we study Hamiltonian systems on (co)adjoint orbits and propose a Lax pair formalism for Gelfand-Tsetlin integrable systems defined on (co)adjoint orbits of the compact Lie groups ${\rm{U}}(n)$ and ${\rm{SO}}(n)$. In the particular setting of (co)adjoint orbits of ${\rm{U}}(n)$, by means of the associated Lax matrix we construct a family of algebraic curves which encodes the Gelfand-Tsetlin integrable systems as branch points. This family of algebraic curves enables us to explore some new insights into the relationship between the topology of singular Gelfand-Tsetlin fibers, singular algebraic curves and vanishing cycles. Further, we provide a new description for Guillemin and Sternberg's action coordinates in terms of hyperelliptic integrals.

Geodesic orbit spaces in real flag manifolds

We describe the invariant metrics on real flag manifolds and classify those with the following property: every geodesic is the orbit of a one-parameter subgroup. Such a metric is called g.o. (geodesic orbit). In contrast to the complex case, on real flag manifolds the isotropy representation can have equivalent submodules, which makes invariant metrics depend on more parameters and allows us to find more cases in which non-trivial g.o. metrics exist.

Invariant Einstein metrics on real flag manifolds with two or three isotropy summands

We study the existence of invariant Einstein metrics on real flag manifolds associated to simple and non-compact split real forms of complex classical Lie algebras whose isotropy representation decomposes into two or three irreducible sub-representations. In this situation, one can have equivalent sub-modules, leading to the existence of non-diagonal homogeneous Riemannian metrics. In particular, we prove the existence of non-diagonal Einstein metrics on real flag manifolds.

A Lie theoretical construction of a Landau-Ginzburg model without projective mirrors

We describe the Fukaya-Seidel category of a Landau-Ginzburg model LG(2) for the semisimple adjoint orbit of sl(2,C). We prove that this category is equivalent to a full triangulated subcategory of the category of coherent sheaves on the second Hirzebruch surface. We show that no projective variety can be mirror to LG(2), and that this remains so after compactification.

$T$-duality on nilmanifolds

We study generalized complex structures and $T$-duality (in the sense of Bouwknegt, Evslin, Hannabuss and Mathai) on Lie algebras and construct the corresponding Cavalcanti and Gualtieri map. Such a construction is called "Infinitesimal $T$-duality". As an application we deal with the problem of finding symplectic structures on 2-step nilpotent Lie algebras. We also give a criteria for the intregability of the infinitesimal $T$-duality of Lie algebras to topological $T$-duality of the associated nilmanifolds.

Second homotopy and invariant geometry of flag manifolds

We use the Hopf fibration to explicitly compute generators of the second homotopy group of the flag manifolds of a compact Lie group. We show that these $2$-spheres have nice geometrical properties such as being totally geodesic surfaces with respect to any invariant metric on the flag manifold. We characterize when the generators with the same invariant geometry are in the same homotopy class. This is done by exploring the action of Weyl group on the irreducible components of isotropy representation of the flag manifold.

Calabi-Yau metrics on canonical bundles of complex flag manifolds

In the present paper we provide a description of complete Calabi-Yau metrics on the canonical bundle of generalized complex flag manifolds. By means of Lie theory we give an explicit description of complete Ricci-flat Kähler metrics obtained through the Calabi ansatz technique. We use this approach to provide several explicit examples of noncompact complete Calabi-Yau manifolds, these examples include canonical bundles of non-toric flag manifolds (e.g. Grassmann manifolds and full flag manifolds).

On generalized $G_2$-structures and $T$-duality

This is a short note on generalized $G_2$-structures obtained as a consequence of a $T$-dual construction given in a previous work of the authors together with Leonardo Soriani. Given classical $G_2$-structure on certain seven dimensional manifolds, either closed or co-closed, we obtain integrable generalized $G_2$-structures which are no longer an usual one, and with non-zero three form in general. In particular we obtain manifolds admitting closed generalized $G_2$-structures not admitting closed (usual) $G_2$-structures.

On the stability of harmonic maps under the homogeneous Ricci flow

In this work we study properties of stability and non-stability of harmonic maps under the homogeneous Ricci flow. We provide examples where the stability (non-stability) is preserved under the Ricci flow and an example where the Ricci flow does not preserve the stability of an harmonic map.
