The exceptional set for Diophantine inequality with mixed powers of primes

Assume that $\lambda_1, \lambda_2, \lambda_3,\lambda_4,\lambda_5,\lambda_6,\lambda_7$ are non-zero real numbers , $\lambda_1/\lambda_2$ is an irrational number. Let $\mathcal{V} $ be a well-spaced sequence, and $\delta >0$. For any given positive integer $k\geq 5$ and any $\varepsilon >0$, we give the upper bound of the number of $\upsilon \in \mathcal{V} $ with $\upsilon \leq X$ for which the inequality $$ \left | \lambda_1p_1^2 + \lambda_2p_2^3 + \lambda_3p_3^3 + \lambda_4p_4^3 + \lambda_5p_5^3 + \lambda_6p_6^4 + \lambda_7p_7^k - \upsilon \right | <{\upsilon}^{-\delta} $$ has no solution in primes $p_1, p_2, p_3, p_4, p_5, p_6, p_7$.

MHD analysis on the physical designs of CFETR and HFRC

The China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor (CFETR) and the Huazhong Field Reversed Configuration (HFRC), currently both under intensive physical and engineering designs in China, are the two major projects representative of the low-density steady-state and high-density pulsed pathways to fusion. One of the primary tasks of the physics designs for both CFETR and HFRC is the assessment and analysis of the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stability of the proposed design schemes. Comprehensive efforts on the assessment of MHD stability of CFETR and HFRC baseline scenarios have led to preliminary progresses that may further benefit engineering designs.

Neutron Energy Spectrum Measurements with a Compact Liquid Scintillation Detector on EAST

A neutron detector based on EJ301 liquid scintillator has been employed at EAST to measure the neutron energy spectrum for D-D fusion plasma. The detector was carefully characterized in different quasi-monoenergetic neutron fields generated by a 4.5 MV Van de Graaff accelerator. In recent experimental campaigns, due to the low neutron yield at EAST, a new shielding device was designed and located as close as possible to the tokamak to enhance the count rate of the spectrometer. The fluence of neutrons and gamma-rays was measured with the liquid neutron spectrometer and was consistent with 3He proportional counter and NaI (Tl) gamma-ray spectrometer measurements. Plasma ion temperature values were deduced from the neutron spectrum in discharges with lower hybrid wave injection and ion cyclotron resonance heating. Scattered neutron spectra were simulated by the Monte Carlo transport Code, and they were well verified by the pulse height measurements at low energies.
