Decoupled Latent Flow Matching for Few-Step Joint Vocal-Accompaniment Separation

Generative modeling provides a flexible way to model mixture-conditioned source distributions, but iterative diffusion and flow matching models are costly for long music signals. This paper studies joint vocal-accompaniment separation through latent flow matching, where a pretrained variational autoencoder (VAE) maps mixtures and sources into a compact latent space and a flow matching model generates vocal and accompaniment latents jointly. The proposed framework decouples semantic separation from acoustic velocity prediction through a Separation Encoder and a Velocity Decoder. To reduce sampling cost, we further apply latent adversarial post-training inspired by Flow2GAN for few-step generation. Experiments show that latent adversarial refinement can improve perceptual and separation metrics under a reduced sampling budget.

LeVo 2: Stable and Melodious Song Generation via Hierarchical Representation Modeling and Progressive Post-Training

Full-length song generation must preserve coherence and musicality, render detailed vocal and accompaniment acoustics, and follow lyrics and prompts. Existing language model-based systems face a structural trade-off: mixed-token modeling preserves vocal-instrument coordination but obscures track-specific details, whereas dual-track prediction improves acoustics but requires longer sequences and weakens global planning. We present LeVo 2, a hybrid LLM-Diffusion framework for controllable full-length song generation. LeVo 2 formulates this trade-off as hierarchical modeling: LeLM first predicts mixed tokens for semantic planning, then predicts vocal and accompaniment tokens in parallel for track-specific refinement, while a diffusion-based Music Codec reconstructs full-length waveforms. A central contribution of this extended version is an aesthetics-guided training schedule for alignment. During pre-training, an automated music aesthetic evaluation framework assigns musicality-tier conditions to large-scale data, providing musicality priors before preference alignment. Progressive post-training applies SFT, large-scale offline DPO, and closed-loop semi-online DPO to separately improve generation quality, controllability, and musicality. Modular extension then trains the Track-Specific LM for acoustic refinement while preserving the aligned semantic planner. This schedule separates musicality learning, controllability alignment, and acoustic refinement, mitigating optimization conflict and the limitations of static offline preference pairs. Expert listening tests and objective evaluations show that LeVo 2 outperforms open-source baselines across six subjective dimensions, and approaches leading commercial systems on several listening metrics. Ablations validate the effects of the training strategy, aesthetics guidance, scaling, and hierarchical architecture.

SongBench: A Fine-Grained Multi-Aspect Benchmark for Song Quality Assessment

Recent advancements in Text-to-Song generation have enabled realistic musical content production, yet existing evaluation benchmarks lack the professional granularity to capture multi-dimensional aesthetic nuances. In this paper, we propose SongBench, a specialized framework for fine-grained song assessment across seven key dimensions: Vocal, Instrument, Melody, Structure, Arrangement, Mixing, and Musicality. Utilizing this framework, we construct an expert-annotated database comprising 11,717 samples from state-of-the-art models, labeled by music professionals. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that SongBench achieves high correlation with expert ratings. By revealing fine-grained performance gaps in current state-of-the-art models, SongBench serves as a diagnostic benchmark to steer the development toward more professional and musically coherent song generation.

Class Unbiasing for Generalization in Medical Diagnosis

Medical diagnosis might fail due to bias. In this work, we identified class-feature bias, which refers to models' potential reliance on features that are strongly correlated with only a subset of classes, leading to biased performance and poor generalization on other classes. We aim to train a class-unbiased model (Cls-unbias) that mitigates both class imbalance and class-feature bias simultaneously. Specifically, we propose a class-wise inequality loss which promotes equal contributions of classification loss from positive-class and negative-class samples. We propose to optimize a class-wise group distributionally robust optimization objective-a class-weighted training objective that upweights underperforming classes-to enhance the effectiveness of the inequality loss under class imbalance. Through synthetic and real-world datasets, we empirically demonstrate that class-feature bias can negatively impact model performance. Our proposed method effectively mitigates both class-feature bias and class imbalance, thereby improving the model's generalization ability.
