Hypocoercivity and metastability of degenerate KFP equations at low temperature

We consider Kramers-Fokker-Planck operators with general degenerate coefficients. We prove semiclassical hypocoercivity estimates for a large class of such operators. Then, we manage to prove Eyring-Kramers formulas for the bottom of the spectrum of some particular degenerate operators in the semiclassical regime, and quantify the spectral gap separating these eigenvalues from the rest of the spectrum. The main ingredient is the construction of sharp Gaussian quasimodes through an adaptation of the WKB method.

Sharp spectral gap for some degenerate Witten Laplacians

We consider Witten Laplacians associated to some non-Morse potentials. We prove Eyring-Kramers formulas for the bottom of the spectrum of these operators in the semiclassical regime and quantify the spectral gap separating these eigenvalues from the rest of the spectrum. The main ingredient is the construction of sharp degenerate Gaussian quasimodes through an adaptation of the WKB method.

Sharp spectral gap of adaptive Langevin dynamics

We consider a degenerated Fokker-Planck type differential operator associated to an adaptive Langevin dynamic. We prove Eyring-Kramers formulas for the bottom of the spectrum of this operator in the low temperature regime. The main ingredients are resolvent estimates obtained via hypocoercive techniques and the construction of sharp Gaussian quasimodes through an adaptation of the WKB method.
