Higgs boson pair production at N$^3$LO QCD

Understanding the Higgs potential by measuring its self-interactions is fundamental in answering several big questions, such as electroweak symmetry breaking, electroweak baryogenesis, electroweak phase transition, and electroweak vacuum stability. The most promising way to probe the Higgs potential is to detect Higgs boson pair final state at high-energy colliders. In this talk, we report a recent perturbative calculation for the di-Higgs gluon-fusion process by taking into account N$^3$LO QCD radiative corrections in the approximation of infinite top quark mass limit. Finite top quark mass effects are also incorporated with several approximate schemes, which are known to be crucial in phenomenological applications. We show a very good asymptotic perturbative convergence at $\mathcal{O}(α_s^5)$, and demonstrate that the remaining scale uncertainty is only at percent level.

Quasi parton distribution functions at NNLO: flavor non-diagonal quark contributions

We present a next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) calculation of the quasi parton distribution functions (Quasi-PDFs) in the large momentum effective theory (LaMET). We focus on the flavor non-diagonal quark-quark channel and demonstrate the LaMET factorization at the NNLO accuracy in the modified minimal subtraction scheme. The matching coefficient between the quasi-PDF and the light-cone PDF is derived. This provides a first step towards a complete NNLO analysis of quasi-PDFs and to better understand the nucleon structures from the first principle of QCD.

Master Integrals for two-loop QCD corrections to Quasi PDFs

We compute the master integrals for two-loop QCD corrections to quasi parton distribution functions (PDFs) in large momentum effective theory. Analytical results of the master integrals are derived using the method of differential equations, along with a proper choice of canonical basis. The results of master integrals are expressed in terms of Goncharov polylogarithms. These integrals allow to extract the two-loop short-distance matching coefficients between quasi and light cone PDFs in large momentum effective theory, and are helpful to extract the nucleon PDFs from first principles.

The gluon-fusion production of Higgs boson pair: N$^3$LO QCD corrections and top-quark mass effects

The Higgs boson pair production via gluon fusion at high-energy hadron colliders, such as the LHC, is vital in deciphering the Higgs potential and in pinning down the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism. We carry out the next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^3$LO) QCD calculations in the infinite top-quark mass limit and present predictions for both the inclusive and differential cross sections, albeit the differential distributions other than the invariant mass distribution of the Higgs boson pair are approximated at N$^3$LO. Such corrections are indispensable in stabilising the perturbative expansion of the cross section in the strong coupling $α_s$. At the inclusive level, the scale uncertainties are reduced by a factor of four compared with the next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) results. Given that the inclusion of the top-quark mass effects is essential for the phenomenological applications, we use several schemes to incorporate the N$^3$LO results in the infinite top-quark mass limit and the next-to-leading order (NLO) results with full top-quark mass dependence, and present theoretical predictions for the (differential) cross sections in the proton-proton collisions at the centre-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}=13,14,27$ and $100$ TeV. Our results provide one of the most precise theoretical inputs for the analyses of the Higgs boson pair events.

Higgs boson pair production via gluon fusion at N$^3$LO in QCD

We present next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^3$LO) QCD predictions for the Higgs boson pair production via gluon fusion at hadron colliders in the infinite top-quark mass limit. Besides the inclusive total cross sections at various collision energies, we also provide the invariant mass distribution of the Higgs boson pair. Our results show that the N$^3$LO QCD corrections enhance the next-to-next-to-leading order cross section by $3.0\%$ ($2.7\%$) at $\sqrt{s}=13~(100)$ TeV, while the scale uncertainty is reduced substantially below $3\%$ ($2\%$). We also find that a judicious scale choice can significantly improve the perturbative convergence. For the invariant mass distribution, our calculation demonstrates that the N$^3$LO corrections improve the scale dependence but almost do not change the shape.

Master integrals of a planar double-box family for top-quark pair production

We calculate analytically the master integrals of a planar double-box family for top-quark pair production using the method of differential equations. With a proper choice of the bases, the differential equations can be transformed to the $d$-log form. The square roots of the kinematic variables in the differential equations can be rationalized by defining two dimensionless variables. We find that all the boundary conditions can be fully fixed either by simple integrals or regularity conditions at some special kinematic points. The analytic results for thirty-three master integrals at general kinematics are all expressed in terms of multiple polylogarithms up to transcendental weight four.

Three-loop planar master integrals for heavy-to-light form factors

We calculate analytically the three-loop planar master integrals relevant for heavy-to-light form factors using the method of differential equations. After choosing a proper canonical basis, the boundary conditions are easy to be determined, and the solution of differential equations is greatly simplified. The results for seventy-one master integrals at general kinematics are all expressed in terms of harmonic polylogarithms.

X(16.7) Production in Electron-Position Collision

The anomaly found in the excited $^8\text{Be}$ nuclear transition to its ground state is attributed to a spin-1 gauge boson $X(16.7)$. To hunt for this boson, we propose two traps: $e^+e^-\to Xγ$ and $J/ψ\to Xγ$, both following with $X\to e^+e^-$ decay. We adopt the "vector minus axial-vector" interaction hypothesis. Analysis on the $X(16.7)$ decay length, production rates, differential distribution with respect to the $e^+e^-$ invariant-mass spectrum, and the signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) after the smearing at BESIII detector are discussed in detail. Given the coupling strength of $X$ to vector/axial-vector currents $g_f^{v/a}\sim10^{-3}$ at BESIII: (1) there would be about $6000$ $X$ measurable events per year in electron-positron collision, yet with a large background after smearing, (2) while in $J/ψ$ decays, we find that the axial-vector current may come into play, though merely 52 events may appear, the SNR are inspiring even after smearing.

Two-Loop integrals for CP-even heavy quarkonium production and decays: Elliptic Sectors

By employing the differential equations, we compute analytically the elliptic sectors of two-loop master integrals appearing in the NNLO QCD corrections to CP-even heavy quarkonium exclusive production and decays, which turns out to be the last and toughest part in the relevant calculation. The integrals are found can be expressed as Goncharov polylogarithms and iterative integrals over elliptic functions. The master integrals may be applied to some other NNLO QCD calculations about heavy quarkonium exclusive production, like $γ^*γ\rightarrow Q\bar{Q}$, $e^+e^-\rightarrow γ+ Q\bar{Q}$,~and~$H/Z^0\rightarrow γ+ Q\bar{Q}$, heavy quarkonium exclusive decays, and also the CP-even heavy quarkonium inclusive production and decays.

Two-Loop master integrals for heavy-to-light form factors of two different massive fermions

We calculate the full set of the two-loop master integrals for heavy-to-light form factors of two different massive fermions for arbitrary momentum transfer in NNLO QCD or QED corrections. These integrals allow to determine the two-loop QCD or QED corrections to the amplitudes for heavy-to-light form factors of two massive fermions in a full analytical way, without any approximations. The analytical results of the master integrals are derived using the method of differential equations, along with a proper choosing of canonical basis for the master integrals. All the results of master integrals are expressed in terms of Goncharov polylogarithms.

NNLO QCD Corrections to $γ+ η_c(η_b)$ Exclusive Production in Electron-Positron Collision

Based on the NRQCD factorization formalism, we calculate the next-to-next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the heavy quarkonium $η_c (η_b)$ production associated with a photon at electron-positron colliders. By matching the amplitudes calculated in full QCD theory to a series of operators in NRQCD, the short-distance coefficients up to NNLO QCD radiative corrections are determined. It turns out that the full set of master integrals that we obtained could be analytically expressed in terms of Goncharov Polylogarithms, Chen's iterated integrals, and elliptic functions, which mostly do not exist in the literature and could be employed in the analyses of other physical processes. In phenomenology, numerical calculations of NNLO K-factors and cross sections of $e^+e^-\rightarrow γ+ η_c(η_b)$ processes in BESIII and B-factory experiments are performed, which may stand as a test of the NRQCD higher order calculation while confronting to the data.

Two-Loop integrals for CP-even heavy quarkonium production and decays

By employing the method of differential equations, we compute the various types of two-loop master integrals involved in CP-even heavy quarkonium exclusive production and decays. All the integrals presented in this paper can be casted into canonical forms and expressed in terms of Goncharov polylogarithms and Harmonic polylogarithms. These master integrals are frequently used in the calculation of NNLO corrections of the heavy quarkonium production processes, as $γ^*γ\rightarrow Q\bar{Q}$, $e^+e^-\rightarrow γ+ Q\bar{Q}$, and $H/Z^0\rightarrow γ+ Q\bar{Q}$, and decay processes. They are also applicable in the calculation of NNLO corrections to CP-even quarkonium inclusive production and decay processes.

X(16.7) as the Solution of NuTeV Anomaly

A recent experimental study of excited $^{8}\!Be$ decay to its ground state reveals an anomaly in the final states angle distribution. This exceptional result is attributed to a new vector gauge boson X(16.7). We study the significance of this new boson, especially its effect in anomalies observed in long-lasting experimental measurements. By comparing the discrepancies between the standard model predictions and the experimental results, we manage to find out the values and regions of the couplings of X(16.7) to muon and muon neutrino. In this work, we find that the newly observed boson X(16.7) may be the solution of both NuTeV anomaly and the $(g-2)_μ$ puzzle.

NLO QCD Corrections for $J/ψ+ c + \bar{c}$ Production in Photon-Photon Collision

The $γ+γ\rightarrow J/ψ+c+\bar{c}$ inclusive process is an extremely important subprocess in $J/ψ$ production via photon-photon scattering, like at LEP\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral2} or various types future electron-positron colliders. In this work we perform the next-to-leading(NLO) QCD corrections to this process in the framework of non-relativistic QCD(NRQCD) factorization formalism, the first NLO calculation for two projectiles to 3-body quarkonium inclusive production process. By setting the center-of-mass energy at LEP\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral2}, the $\sqrt{s}=197$ GeV, we conduct analyses of the $p_t^2$ distribution and total cross section of this process at the NLO accuracy. It turns out that the total cross section is moderately enhanced by the NLO correction with a $K$ factor of about 1.46, and hence the discrepancy between DELPHI data and color-singlet(CS) calculation is reduced while the color-octet(CO) contributions are still inevitable at this order. At the future Circular Electron-Positron Collider(CEPC), the NLO corrections are found to be more significant, with a $K$ factor of about 1.76.

NLO QCD Corrections to $η_c+h_c(1P)/ψ_{1,2}(1D)$ Production at B-factories

We calculate the next-to-leading order (NLO) quantum chromodynamics (QCD) corrections to double charmonium production processes $e^+e^-\toγ^*\toη_c+h_c(1P)/ψ_{1,2}(1D)$ within the non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization framework. We find that the corrections to $η_c+h_c(1P)$ production are positive, while those to $η_c+ψ_{1,2}(1D)$ are negative. Unlike the $J/ψ+ η_c$ case, all the corrections here are not large. Uncertainties in the renormalization scale, quark mass and running energy of center-of-mass are discussed, and the scale dependence of these processes is found to be greatly reduced with the NLO QCD corrections.

Two-loop QCD Corrections to $B_c$ Meson Leptonic Decays

The two-loop QCD radiative corrections to the $B_c$ meson leptonic decay rate are calculated in the framework of NRQCD factorization formalism. Two types of master integrals appearing in the calculation are obtained analytically for the first time. We get the short-distance coefficient of the leading matrix element to order $α_s^2$ by matching the full perturbative QCD calculation results to the corresponding NRQCD ones. The result in this work helps the evaluation of the $B_c$ leptonic decay constant, as well as the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cb}|$, to the full next-to-next-to-leading order degree of accuracy.

The QCD NLO Corrections to Inclusive $B^*_c$ Production in $Z^{0}$ Decays

We calculate the next-to-leading order(NLO) quantum chromodynamics(QCD) corrections to the inclusive process of $Z_0 \rightarrow B^*_c+\bar{c}+b$ under the non-relativistic QCD(NRQCD) factorization scheme. Technical details about contributions from vector and axial-vector currents in dimensional regularization scheme are discussed. Numerical calculation shows that the NLO correction enhances the leading-order decay width by about 50%, and the dependence on renormalization scale $μ$ is reduced. The uncertainties induced by quark masses and the renormalization scale $μ$ are also analyzed.

NLO QCD Corrections for $χ_{cJ}$ Inclusive Production at $B$ Factories

The next-to-leading order (NLO) quantum chromodynamics (QCD) corrections for $χ_{cJ}(^3P_J^{[1]},^3S_1^{[8]})$, the P-wave charmoniums inclusive production at $B$ factories are calculated utilizing the non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization formalism. Large NLO corrections are found, especially for $^3P_0^{[1]}$ and $^3S_1^{[8]}$ configurations. Numerical evaluation indicates that the total cross sections of $χ_{cJ}$ inclusive production processes are at the order of $10$fb, which are accessible in BELLE II(super-B) experiment.
