Logarithmic corrections to the entropy of near-extremal black holes in New Massive Gravity

We study the one-loop correction to the entropy of near-extremal black holes in three-dimensional massive gravity at the special point where the theory exhibits a unique maximally symmetric vacuum and non-constant curvature hairy black holes can achieve extremality even in the static case. Focusing on the near-horizon AdS$_2\times S^1$ geometry, we evaluate the contribution of boundary graviton modes that become exact zero modes in the extremal limit. We show that the resulting one-loop partition function generates logarithmic corrections to the semiclassical entropy, providing a new extension to higher-curvature gravity of what has been recently obtained for near-extremal black holes in General Relativity.

Holographic metals at finite volume

We construct the electron star solution in asymptotically global AdS spacetime, and investigate its stability properties, both locally under perturbations and globally with respect to the Reissner-Nordstr\"om black hole and thermal AdS metrics. We interpret the resulting phase diagram as that of a holographic metal confined to a finite volume. We identify a quantum critical point at finite chemical potential, around which the different phases are organized.

From BTZ Perturbations to Schwarzian Modes: A Geometrical and Perturbative Analysis

We provide a detailed derivation of the Schwarzian modes in the full geometry of the Ba\~nados-Teitelboim-Zanelli (BTZ) black hole at finite temperature, establishing the precise conditions under which they emerge from the general solution, thereby clarifying the absence of rotational modes in the full geometry. In addition, we demonstrate that the same modes can be recovered through a purely geometric Kerr-Schild construction. This equivalent approach offers a new geometric understanding of the Schwarzian sector and highlights the correspondence between perturbative and pure geometric approaches, additionally it provides a connection with double copy.

Fermionic correlators on the holographic neutron star

We investigate the fermionic perturbations of the asymptotically AdS background known as holographic neutron star, which represents a highly degenerate state of strongly coupled fermions on a sphere at finite temperature. We calculate the two-point correlator of a fermionic operator and obtain its scaling properties as we approach the critical region of the phase diagram.

Superradiant black hole rocket

We calculate the total thrust resulting from the interaction between charged scalar modes and a superradiant Reissner-Nordstr\"om black hole, when the modes are deflected by a hemispherical perfect mirror located at a finite distance from the black hole's horizon.
