Entropy for Generalized Parabolic Dynamics

In this paper, we extend the concept of generalized entropy to uniform spaces, allowing computations beyond metrizable settings. We apply this to parabolic dynamics - systems with a unique fixed point uniformly attracting all compact subsets in both time directions - and introduce a broader class, called generalized parabolic dynamics. Within this, we identify a significant subclass and prove its linear entropy, offering several equivalent characterizations linking the generalized entropy of the space, the non-wandering set, and families of mutually singular subsets. We also study homeomorphisms of compact surfaces with a singleton non-wandering set but non-parabolic dynamics. The examples that we present have at least quadratic entropy, bounded above by the supremum of polynomial growth rates. For any growth rate with the linear invariant property within these bounds, we construct a homeomorphism whose generalized entropy realizes the prescribed growth, with the non-wandering set reduced to a point.

Gears and pulleys in non-Euclidean space forms

In this article we study, in their non-Euclidean versions, two important mechanical systems that are very common in numerous devices. More precisely, we study the laws governing the movement of pulley and gear systems in spherical and hyperbolic geometries. And curiously, we were able to see an interesting similarity between the determined laws.

Spaces where all bijections are morphisms

Here we classify all topological spaces where all bijections to itself are homeomorphisms. As a consequence, we also classify all topological spaces where all maps to itself are continuous. Analogously, we classify all measurable spaces where all bijections to itself are measurable with measurable inverse. As a consequence, we also classify all measurable spaces where all maps to itself are measurable.

Some properties that are preserved by transferring boundary functors

If a Hausdorff locally compact paracompact space has a coarse structure, then there is a family of well behaved compactifications associated to it. If there are two of these spaces, $X$ and $Y$, with a good coarse equivalence, then there is a correspondence between these families of compactifications of $X$ and $Y$. On the other hand, if a group $G$ has a properly discontinuous cocompact action on a Hausdorff locally space $X$, then there is also a correspondence between nice compactifications of $G$ and nice compactifications of $X$. In this paper we show that when there are both concepts involved (coarse structure and group action), then both correspondences of families of compactifications agree. We also prove that these correspondences must preserve some geometric properties of the compactifications.

Glueing spaces without identifying points

In this paper we develop the theory of Artin-Wraith glueings for topological spaces. As an application, we show that some categories of compactifications of coarse spaces that agree with the coarse structures are invariant under coarse equivalences. As a consequence, if X and Y are some well behaved metric spaces that are coarse equivalent, then they have the same space of ends (generalizing the well known fact that works on quasi-isometric proper geodesic metric spaces). As another application, we show that for every compact metrizable space $Y$, there exists only one, up to homeomorphisms, compactification of the Cantor set minus one point such that the remainder is homeomorphic to $Y$.

Equivariant blowups of bounded parabolic points

Let $G$ be a group acting by homeomorphisms on a Hausdorff compact space $Z$. We constructed a new space $X$ that blows up equivariantly the bounded parabolic points of $Z$. This means, roughly speaking, that $G$ acts by homeomorphisms on $X$ and there exists a continuous equivariant map $π: X \rightarrow Z$ such that for every non bounded parabolic point $z \in Z$, $\#π^{-1}(z) = 1$. We use such construction to characterize topologically some spaces that $G$ acts with the convergence property and to construct new convergence actions of $G$ from old ones. As one of the applications, if $G$ is a group and $p$ is a bounded parabolic point of the space of ends of $G$, then the stabilizer of $p$ is one-ended.

A generalization of convergence actions

Let a group $G$ act properly discontinuously and cocompactly on a locally compact space $X$. A Hausdorff compact space $Z$ that contains $X$ as an open subspace has the perspectivity property if the action $G\curvearrowright X$ extends to an action $G\curvearrowright Z$, by homeomorphisms, such that for every compact $K\subseteq X$ and every element $u$ of the unique uniform structure compatible with the topology of $Z$, the set $\{gK: g \in G\}$ has finitely many non $u$-small sets. We describe a correspondence between the compact spaces with the perspectivity property with respect to $X$ (and the fixed action of $G$ on it) and the compact spaces with the perspectivity property with respect to $G$ (and the left multiplication on itself). This generalizes a similar result for convergence group actions.
