Chaos, decoherence and emergent extradimensions in D-brane dynamics with fluctuations

We study, by using tools of the dynamical system theory, a fermionic string streched from a non-commutative D2-brane (stack of D0-branes in the BFSS model) to a probe D0-brane as a quantum system driven by a chaotic system, the (classical and quantum) chaos being induced in the D2-brane dynamics by quantum fluctuations. We show that this dynamics with fluctuations induces a decoherence phenomenon on the reduced density matrix of the fermionic string which is characteristic of the chaotic behaviour since it presents an horizon of coherence. Moreover we show that this dynamics is associated with an invariant torus which involves extradimensions emerging from the fluctuations for the viewpoint of the fermionic string, extending a three dimensional space by six compact dimensions. The situation studied can be considered as a model of qubit (supported by the fermionic string) in interaction with a quantum black hole (modelized by the non-commutative D2-brane).

Schrödinger-Koopman quasienergy states of quantum systems driven by a classical flow

We study the properties of the quasienergy states of a quantum system driven by a classical dynamical system. The quasienergies are defined in a same manner as in light-matter interaction but where the Floquet approach is generalized by the use of the Koopman approach of dynamical systems. We show how the properties of the classical flow (fixed and cyclic points, ergodicity, chaos) influence the driven quantum system. This approach of the Schrödinger-Koopman quasienergies can be applied to quantum control, quantum information in presence of noises, and dynamics of mixed classical-quantum systems. We treat the example of a kicked spin ensemble where the kick modulation is governed by discrete classical flows as the Arnold's cat map and the Chirikov standard map.

Quantum chimera states

We study a theoretical model of closed quasi-hermitian chain of spins which exhibits quantum analogues of chimera states, i.e. long life classical states for which a part of an oscillator chain presents an ordered dynamics whereas another part presents a disordered chaotic dynamics. For the quantum analogue, the chimera behavior deals with the entanglement between the spins of the chain. We discuss the entanglement properties, quantum chaos, quantum disorder and semi-classical similarity of our quantum chimera system. The quantum chimera concept is novel and induces new perspectives concerning the entanglement of multipartite systems.

Information transmission and control in a chaotically kicked spin chain

We study spin chains submitted to disturbed kick trains described by classical dynamical processes. The spin chains are coupled by Heisenberg and Ising-Z models. We consider chaotic processes by using the kick irregularity in the multipartite system (the spin chain). We show that the both couplings transmit differently the chaos disorder along the spin chain but conserve the horizon of coherence (when the disorder into the kick bath is transmitted to the spin chain). An example of information transmission between the spins of the chain coupled by a Heisenberg interaction shows the interest of the horizon of coherence. The use of some chosen stationary kicks disturbed by a chaotic environment allows to modify the information transmission between the spins and to perform a free control during the horizon of coherence.

Adiabatic theorem for bipartite quantum systems in weak coupling limit

We study the adiabatic approximation of the dynamics of a bipartite quantum system with respect to one of the components, when the coupling between its two components is perturbative. We show that the density matrix of the considered component is described by adiabatic transport formulae exhibiting operator-valued geometric and dynamical phases. The present results can be used to study the quantum control of the dynamics of qubits and of open quantum systems where the two components are the system and its environment. We treat two examples, the control of an atomic qubit interacting with another one and the control of a spin in the middle of a Heisenberg spin chain.

Analyses of the transmission of the disorder from a disturbed environment to a spin chain

We study spin chains submitted to disturbed kick trains described by classical dynamical processes. The spin chains are described by Heisenberg and Ising models. We consider decoherence, entanglement and relaxation processes induced by the kick irregularity in the multipartite system (the spin chain). We show that the different couplings transmit the disorder along the chain differently and also to each spin density matrix with different efficiencies. In order to analyze and to interpret the observed effects we use a semi-classical analysis across the Husimi distribution. It consists to consider the classical spin orientation movements. A possibility of conserving the order into the spin chain is finally analyzed.

Decoherence, relaxation and chaos in a kicked-spin ensemble

We study the dynamics of a quantum spin ensemble controlled by trains of ultrashort pulses. To model disturbances of the kicks, we consider that the spins are submitted to different kick trains which follow regular, random, stochastic or chaotic dynamical processes. These are described by dynamical systems on a torus. We study the quantum decoherence and the population relaxation of the spin ensemble induced by these classical dynamical processes disturbing the kick trains. For chaotic kick trains we show that the decoherence and the relaxation processes exhibit a signature of chaos directly related to the Lyapunov exponents of the dynamical system. This signature is a horizon of coherence, i.e. a preliminary duration without decoherence followed by a rapid decoherence process.
