Frequency & Radiative Analysis of Random Yagi-UHF/VHF Phased Array

This paper investigates a phased array ground station capable of tracking multiple sources, multi-beamforming, electronic steering, easy scaling, and low cost. The project will develop a 20-pair dual-polarized yagi-UHF/VHF phased array with a pseudo-random layout, comparing parameters of random and uniform distributions. We will present several analyses: general analysis for side lobes across both elevation and azimuth, analysis of scaling with number of elements ("element sweep"), electronic beam steering analysis, mechanical beam steering analysis, electro-mechanical beam steering analysis, array density analysis, and reception/transmission spectra analysis.

Fluctuating temperature and baryon chemical potential in heavy-ion collisions and the position of the critical end point in the effective QCD phase diagram

We use the linear sigma model with quarks to locate the critical end point in the effective QCD phase diagram accounting for fluctuations in temperature and quark chemical potential. For this purpose, we use the non-equilibrium formalism provided by the superstatistics framework. We compute the effective potential in the high- and low-temperature approximations up to sixth order and include the contribution of ring diagrams to account for plasma screening effects. We fix the model parameters from relations between the thermal sigma and pion masses imposing a first order phase transition at zero temperature and a finite critical value for the baryon chemical potential that we take of order of the nucleon mass. We find that the CEP displacement due to fluctuations in temperature and/or quark chemical potential is almost negligible.

On the critical end point in a two-flavor linear sigma model coupled to quarks

We use the linear sigma model coupled to quarks to explore the location of the phase transition lines in the QCD phase diagram from the point of view of chiral symmetry restoration at high temperature and baryon chemical potential. We compute analytically the effective potential in the high- and low-temperature approximations up to sixth order, including the contribution of the ring diagrams to account for the plasma screening properties. We determine the model parameters, namely, the couplings and mass-parameter, from conditions valid at the first order phase transition at vanishing temperature and, using the Hagedorn limiting temperature concept applied to finite baryon density, for a critical baryochemical potential of order of the nucleon mass. We show that when using the set of parameters thus determined, the second order phase transition line (our proxy for the crossover transition) that starts at finite temperature and zero baryon chemical potential converges to the line of first order phase transitions that starts at zero temperature and finite baryon chemical potential to determine the critical end point to lie in the region $5.02<μ_B^{\mbox{CEP}}/T_c<5.18$, $0.14<T^{\mbox{CEP}}/T_c<0.23$, where $T_c$ is the critical transition temperature at zero baryon chemical potential.

Magnetic field-dependence of the neutral pion mass in the linear sigma model coupled to quarks: The weak field case

We compute the neutral pion mass dependence on a magnetic field in the weak field approximation at one-loop order. The calculation is carried out within the linear sigma model coupled to quarks and using Schwinger's proper-time representation for the charged particle propagators. We find that the neutral pion mass decreases with the field strength provided the boson self-coupling magnetic field corrections are also included. The calculation should be regarded as the setting of the trend for the neutral pion mass as the magnetic field is turned on.

QCD phase diagram from chiral symmetry restoration: analytic approach at high and low temperature using the Linear Sigma Model with Quarks

We use the linear sigma model with quarks to study the QCD phase diagram from the point of view of chiral symmetry restoration. We compute the leading order effective potential for high and low temperatures and finite quark chemical potential, up to the contribution of the ring diagrams to account for the plasma screening effects. We fix the values of the model couplings using physical values for the input parameters such as the vacuum pion and sigma masses, the critical temperature at vanishing quark chemical potential and the conjectured end point value of the baryon chemical potential of the transition line at vanishing temperature. We also make the analysis for the same input parameters but with vanishing pion mass. We find that the critical end point (CEP) is located at low temperatures and high quark chemical potentials $(315<μ^{\text{CEP}}<349\ MeV,18< T^{\text{CEP}}<45\ MeV)$.
