Exact dynamics and qubit inversion of non-Hermitian driven two-level systems

The supersymmetric structure of a generalized non-Hermitian driven two-level system is demonstrated. A unitary rotation turns the Hamiltonian into a more convenient form. After decoupling a set of differential equations, the supersymmetric structure of the problem can be unequivocally ap- appreciated. Performing a spectral analysis of an auxiliary stationary Schrödinger-like equation, complex time-dependent driving functions are obtained for which the corresponding (time-dependent) Schrödinger equation can be straightforwardly solved. Such complex drivings are seen to produce transitions in the qubit state in different, however interesting, manners. We believe that the results reported here will be of interest for designing and carrying out various experiments in laboratories specializing in nuclear magnetic resonance or in optics with gain and loss materials.

Probing regular black holes with sub-Planckian curvature through periodic orbits and their gravitational wave radiation

Extreme mass-ratio inspirals (EMRIs) are among the key targets for future space-based gravitational wave detectors. The gravitational waveforms emitted by EMRIs are highly sensitive to the orbital dynamics of the small compact object, which in turn are determined by the geometry of the underlying spacetime. In this paper, we explore the de- tectability of regular black holes with sub-Planckian curvature, which can be interpreted as regularized versions of the Schwarzschild black hole (RSBH). To do so, we begin by ana- lyzing the metric and geodesics, determining the effective potential, and investigating the marginally bound orbits and the innermost stable circular orbits for timelike particles. Our analysis reveals that orbital radius, angular momentum, and energy significantly depend on the model parameter α for both orbits. Our main aim is to focus on the influence of the model parameter on a specific kind of orbit, the periodic orbit, surrounding a supermassive RSBH. The findings show that, for a constant rational integer, α has a significant impact on the energy and angular momentum of the periodic orbit. Utilising the numerical kludge method, we further investigate the gravitational waveforms of the small celestial body over various periodic orbits. The waveforms display discrete zoom and spin phases within a complete orbital period, influenced by the RSBH parameter α. As the system evolves, the phase shift in the gravitational waveforms grows progressively more pronounced, with cumulative deviations amplifying over time. With the ongoing advancements in space- based gravitational wave detection systems, our results will aid in leveraging EMRIs to probe and characterize the RSBH properties.

Accretion Disk Luminosity and Topological Characteristics for a Schwarzschild Black Hole Surrounded by a Hernquist Dark Matter Halo

In this work, we study some characteristics and gravitational signatures of the Schwarzschild black hole immersed in a Hernquist dark matter halo (SBH-HDM). We determine the black hole's remnant radius and mass, which provide useful residual information at the end of its evaporation. We then explore the luminosity of the accretion disk from the SBH-HDM model. In this way, we determine the key orbital parameters of the test particles within the accretion disk, such as angular velocity, angular momentum, energy, and the radius of the innermost stable circular orbit, based on the dark matter model parameters. We also numerically estimate the accretion disk's efficiency in converting matter into radiation. We also demonstrate that dark matter, which significantly alters the geometry surrounding a Schwarzschild black hole, influences the accretion disk's radiative flux, temperature, differential luminosity, and spectral luminosity. The stability of a black hole spacetime is determined in the eikonal regime. The Lyapunov exponent is also analyzed to quantify the stability of the particle regime and to demonstrate the infall into or escape from the black hole to infinity, as well as the quasi-normal modes. Finally, some properties of black holes are studied from a topological perspective.

Modified Kerr black holes surrounded by dark matter spike

We study supermassive black holes (SMBH), surrounded by a dark matter (DM) spike, that can be found at the centers of Milky Way and $\text{M87}$ galaxies and are accompanied by a specific kind of topological defect. The investigation is developed within the framework of Bumblebee Gravity with a global monopole (BGGM). The dark matter spike is described by a power-law density profile. Our main objective is to assess how the background arising from spontaneous Lorentz symmetry breaking and the presence of a global monopole influence the properties of the Kerr BH within the region affected by the spike. Using a spherically symmetric static BH with BGGM properties as the seed metric, we construct a non-rotating spacetime with a DM spike, resulting in a BGGM-motivated Schwarzschild-like BH by solving the modified Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations (TOV). Next, we extend this approach to the case of a rotating spacetime resulting in the BGGM-motivated Kerr-like BH (BGMKLBH). This approach allows us to explore the spacetime structure, and the BGMKLBH shadows. Then, using available observational data for the DM spike density and considering the effects of BGGM on $\text{Sgr A}^{*}$ and $\text{M87}^{*}$ SMBHs, we analyse the shapes of their shadows and put constraints on the BGGM parameter. Thus, we infer that the BGMKLBHs could be reliable candidates for the astrophysical BHs.

A new time-dependent quantum theory based on Tsallis' distribution

In this paper, inspired by Tsallis' probability distribution based on a $q$-deformed Boltzmann factor, we stipulate a new $q$-deformed quantum dynamics by applying the inverse Wick rotation $ β\rightarrow i t$ to the Tsallis-deformed Boltzmann factor. We obtain a new time-dependent $q$-deformed Schrödinger equation. The free time-evolution of a Gaussian wave packet and that induced by an harmonic interaction are studied within this $q$-deformed quantum mechanical framework.

Shadows, rings and optical appearance of a magnetically charged regular black hole illuminated by various accretion disks

The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) imaging of the supermassive black holes at the centers of Messier 87 galaxy and the Milky Way galaxy marks a significant step in observing the photon rings and central brightness depression that define the optical appearance of black holes with an accretion disk scenario. Inspired by this, we take into account a static and spherically symmetric magnetically charged regular black hole (MCRBH) metric characterized by its mass and an additional parameter q, which arises from the coupling of Einstein gravity and nonlinear electrodynamics (NLED) in the weak field approximation. This parameterized model offers a robust foundation for testing the coupling of Einstein gravity and NLED in the weak-field approximation, using the EHT observational results. In this study, we investigate the geodesic motion of particles around the solution, followed by a discussion of its fundamental geometrical characteristics such as scalar invariants. Using null geodesics, we examine how the model parameter influences the behavior of the photon sphere radius and the associated shadow silhouette. We seek constraints on q by applying the EHT results for supermassive black holes M87* and Sgr A*. Furthermore, it is observed that the geodesics of time-like particles are susceptible to variations in q, which can have an impact on the traits of the innermost stable circular orbit and the marginally bounded orbit. Our primary objective is to probe how the free parameter q affects various aspects of the accretion disk surrounding the MCRBH using the thin-disk approximation. Next, we discuss the physical characteristics of the thin accretion disk as well as the observed shadows and rings of the MCRBH, along with its luminosity, across various accretion models. Ultimately, variations in accretion models and the parameter q yield distinct shadow images and optical appearances of the MCRBH.

Some recent results on contact or point supported potentials

We introduced some contact potentials that can be written as a linear combination of the Dirac delta and its first derivative, the $δ$-$δ'$ interaction. After a simple general presentation in one dimension, we briefly discuss a one dimensional periodic potential with a $δ$-$δ'$ interaction at each node. The dependence of energy bands with the parameters (coefficients of the deltas) can be computed numerically. We also study the $δ$-$δ'$ interaction supported on spheres of arbitrary dimension. The spherical symmetry of this model allows us to obtain rigorous conclusions concerning the number of bound states in terms of the parameters and the dimension. Finally, a $δ$-$δ'$ interaction is used to approximate a potential of wide use in nuclear physics, and estimate the total number of bound states as well as the behaviour of some resonance poles with the lowest energy.

The Birman-Schwinger Operator for a Parabolic Quantum Well in a Zero-Thickness Layer in the Presence of a Two-Dimensional Attractive Gaussian Impurity

In this note we consider a quantum mechanical particle moving inside an infinitesimally thin layer constrained by a parabolic well in the $x$-direction and, moreover, in the presence of an impurity modelled by an attractive Gaussian potential. We investigate the Birman-Schwinger operator associated to a model assuming the presence of a Gaussian impurity inside the layer and prove that such an integral operator is Hilbert-Schmidt, which allows the use of the modified Fredholm determinant in order to compute the bound states created by the impurity. Furthermore, we consider the case where the Gaussian potential degenerates to a $δ$-potential in the $x$-direction and a Gaussian potential in the $y$-direction. We construct the corresponding self-adjoint Hamiltonian and prove that it is the limit in the norm resolvent sense of a sequence of corresponding Hamiltonians with suitably scaled Gaussian potentials. Satisfactory bounds on the ground state energies of all Hamiltonians involved are exhibited.

The two lowest eigenvalues of the harmonic oscillator in the presence of a Gaussian perturbation

In this note we consider a one-dimensional quantum mechanical particle constrained by a parabolic well perturbed by a Gaussian potential. As the related Birman-Schwinger operator is trace class, the Fredholm determinant can be exploited in order to compute the modified eigenenergies which differ from those of the harmonic oscillator due to the presence of the Gaussian perturbation. By taking advantage of Wang's results on scalar products of four eigenfunctions of the harmonic oscillator, it is possible to evaluate quite accurately the two lowest-lying eigenvalues as functions of the coupling constant $λ$.

Exact results for the Wigner transform phase space densities of a two-dimensional harmonically confined charged quantum gas subjected to a magnetic field

Closed form analytical expressions are obtained for the Wigner transform of the Bloch density matrix and for the Wigner phase space density of a two dimensional harmonically trapped charged quantum gas in a uniform magnetic field of arbitrary strength, at zero and nonzero temperatures. An exact analytic expression is also obtained for the autocorrelation function. The strong magnetic field case, where only few Landau levels are occupied, is also examined, and useful approximate expressions for the spatial and momentum densities are given.

Distorted Heisenberg Algebra and Coherent States for Isospectral Oscillator Hamiltonians

The dynamical algebra associated to a family of isospectral oscillator Hamiltonians is studied through the analysis of its representation in the basis of energy eigenstates. It is shown that this representation becomes similar to that of the standard Heisenberg algebra, and it is dependent of a parameter $w\geq 0$. We name it {\it distorted Heisenberg algebra}, where $w$ is the distortion parameter. The corresponding coherent states for an arbitrary $w$ are derived, and some particular examples are discussed in full detail. A prescription to produce the squeezing, by adequately selecting the initial state of the system, is given.

Supercoherent States, Super Kähler Geometry and Geometric Quantization

Generalized coherent states provide a means of connecting square integrable representations of a semi-simple Lie group with the symplectic geometry of some of its homogeneous spaces. In the first part of the present work this point of view is extended to the supersymmetric context, through the study of the OSp(2/2) coherent states. These are explicitly constructed starting from the known abstract typical and atypical representations of osp(2/2). Their underlying geometries turn out to be those of supersymplectic OSp(2/2) homogeneous spaces. Moment maps identifying the latter with coadjoint orbits of OSp(2/2) are exhibited via Berezin's symbols. When considered within Rothstein's general paradigm, these results lead to a natural general definition of a super Kähler supermanifold, the supergeometry of which is determined in terms of the usual geometry of holomorphic Hermitian vector bundles over Kähler manifolds. In particular, the supergeometry of the above orbits is interpreted in terms of the geometry of Einstein-Hermitian vector bundles. In the second part, an extension of the full geometric quantization procedure is applied to the same coadjoint orbits. Thanks to the super Kähler character of the latter, this procedure leads to explicit super unitary irreducible representations of OSp(2/2) in super Hilbert spaces of $L^2$ superholomorphic sections of prequantum bundles of the Kostant type. This work lays the foundations of a program aimed at classifying Lie supergroups' coadjoint orbits and their associated irreducible representations, ultimately leading to harmonic superanalysis. For this purpose a set of consistent conventions is exhibited.
