On the reduced Bernstein-Sato polynomial of Thom-Sebastiani singularities

Given two holomorphic functions $f$ and $g$ defined in two respective germs of complex analytic manifolds $(X,x)$ and $(Y,y)$, we know thanks to M. Saito that, as long as one of them is Euler homogeneous, the reduced (or microlocal) Bernstein-Sato polynomial of the Thom-Sebastiani sum $f+g$ can be expressed in terms of those of $f$ and $g$. In this note we give a purely algebraic proof of a similar relation between the whole functional equations that can be applied to any setting (not necessarily analytic) in which Bernstein-Sato polynomials can be defined.

Hodge ideals of free divisors

We consider the Hodge filtration on the sheaf of meromorphic functions along free divisors for which the logarithmic comparison theorem holds. We describe the Hodge filtration steps as submodules of the order filtration on a cyclic presentation in terms of a special factor of the Bernstein-Sato polynomial of the divisor and we conjecture a bound for the generating level of the Hodge filtration. Finally, we develop an algorithm to compute Hodge ideals of such divisors and we apply it to some examples.

Higher derivations of modules and the Hasse-Schmidt module

In this paper we revisit Ribenboim's notion of higher derivations of modules and relate it to the recent work of De Fernex and Docampo on the sheaf of differentials of the arc space. In particular, we derive their formula for the Kähler differentials of the Hasse-Schmidt algebra as a consequence of the fact that the Hasse-Schmidt algebra functors commute.

Tautological systems and free divisors

We introduce tautological system defined by prehomogenous actions of reductive algebraic groups. If the complement of the open orbit is a linear free divisor satisfying a certain finiteness condition, we show that these systems underly mixed Hodge modules. A dimensional reduction is considered and gives rise to one-dimensional differential systems generalizing the quantum differential equation of projective spaces.

A duality approach to the symmetry of Bernstein-Sato polynomials of free divisors

In this paper we prove that the Bernstein-Sato polynomial of any free divisor for which the $D[s]$-module $D[s] h^s$ admits a Spencer logarithmic resolution satisfies the symmetry property $b(-s-2) = \pm b(s)$. This applies in particular to locally quasi-homogeneous free divisors (for instance, to free hyperplane arrangements), or more generally, to free divisors of linear Jacobian type. We also prove that the Bernstein-Sato polynomial of an integrable logarithmic connection $E$ and of its dual $E^*$ with respect to a free divisor of linear Jacobian type are related by the equality $b_{E}(s)=\pm b_{E^*}(-s-2)$. Our results are based on the behaviour of the modules $D[s] h^s$ and $D[s] E[s]h^s $ under duality.
