Entanglement control of two-level atoms in dissipative cavities

An open quantum bipartite system consisting of two independent two-level atoms interacting non-linearly with a two-mode electromagnetic cavity field is investigated by proposing a suitable non-Hermitian generalization of Hamiltonian. The mathematical procedure of obtaining the corresponding wave function of the system is clearly given. Panchartnam phase is studied to give a precise information about the required initial system state, which is related to artificial phase jumps, to control the Degree of Entanglement (DEM) and get the highest Concurrence. We discuss the effect of time-variation coupling, and dissipation of both atoms and cavity. The effect of the time-variation function appears as frequency modulation (FM) effect in the radio waves. Concurrence rapidly reaches the disentangled state (death of entanglement) by increasing the effect of field decay. On the contrary, the atomic decay has no effect.

Information under Lorentz transformation

A general form of a two-qubit system is obtained under the effect of Lorentz transformation. We investigate extensively some important classes in the context of quantum information. It is shown Lorentz transformation causes a decay of entanglement and consequently information loses. On the other hand, it generates entangled states between systems prepared initially in a separable states. The partial entangled states are more robust under Lorentz transformation than maximally entangled states. Therefore the rate of information lose is larger for maximum entangled states compared with that for partially entangled states.

Skew Information for a single Cooper Pair Box interacts with a single cavity Mode

The dynamics of the skew information (SI) is investigated for a single Cooper Pair Box,CPB interacts with a single cavity mode. The effect of the cavity and CPB's parameters on the SI is discussed. We show that, it is possible to increase the skew information to reach its maximum value either by increasing the number of photons inside the cavity or considering non-resonant case with larger detuning parameter. The effect of the relative ratio of Josephson junction capacity and the gate capacity is investigated, where the number of oscillations of the skew information increases by decreasing this ratio and consequently the travelling time between the maximum and minimum values decreases.

The quantum computational speed of a single Cooper Pair box

The speed of computations is investigated by means of the orthogonality speed for a charged qubit interacting with a single cavity field prepared initially in a Fock state or Binomial state. We observe that the rate of the computational speed is related to the number of photons inside the cavity. Moreover, we show that the qubit-field coupling plays an opposite role, where the speed of computations is decreased as the coupling is increased. We suggest using the number of photons in the field as a control parameter to improve the speed of computations.

Sudden death and robustness of quantum discord and entanglement of two atoms in dissipative cavities in dispersive limit

The quantum dynamics of two entangled two-level atoms initially in extended Werner-like (EWL) states is studied. Each of the two atoms is located within an isolated and dissipative cavity. If the interaction time of atoms and cavities is not very long, the amount of quantum discord and entanglement between two atoms decreases as the system evolves. The sudden death of quantum discord and entanglement of two atoms occurs within a short interaction time. However, after a long interaction time, quantum discord and entanglement of two atoms could be partially preserved due to the long-lived nature of quantum discord and entanglement. Surprisingly, we find the amount of long-lived quantum discord could be smaller than that of long-lived entanglement. Thus, entanglement may be more robust than quantum discord against decoherence.

Enhancement of nonclassical properties of two qubits via deformed operators

We explore the dynamics of two atoms interacting with a cavity field via deformed operators. Properties of the asymptotic regularization of entanglement measures proving, for example, purity cost, regularized fidelity and accuracy of information transfer are analyzed. We show that the robustness of a bipartite system having a finite number of quantum states vanishes at finite photon numbers, for arbitrary interactions between its constituents and with cavity field. Finally it is shown that the stability of the purity and the fidelity is improved in the absence of the deformation parameters.

Geometric phase of a moving three-level atom

In this paper, we investigate the geometric phase of the field interacting with $Ξ$-type moving three-level atom. The results show that the atomic motion and the field-mode structure play important roles in the evolution of the system dynamics and geometric phase. We test this observation with experimentally accessible parameters and some new aspects are obtained.

Two atoms in dissipative cavities in dispersive limit: entanglement sudden death and long-lived entanglement

We investigate the entanglement dynamics and coherence of two two-level atoms interacting with two coherent fields of two spatially separated and dissipative cavities. It is in particular shown that entanglement sudden death is obtained within a short interacting time. However, after a long interaction time a long-lived entanglement is shown, that is, the initial entanglement of two atoms could be partially preserved. In addition, the coherence of the two atoms will not be lost during the evolution.

Delayed creation of entanglement in superconducting qubits interacting with a microwave field

We explore the role played by the intrinsic decoherence in superconducting charge qubits in the presence of a microwave field applied as a magnetic flux. We study how the delayed creation of entanglement, which is opposite to the sudden death of entanglement, can be induced. We compute the time evolution of the population inversion, total correlation and entanglement, taking into account the junction mixed state and dissipation of the cavity field. We show that although decoherence destroys the correlation of the junction and field, information of the initial state may be obtained via quasi-probability distribution functions.

Entangled states generation of two atoms interacting with a cavity field

We classify different classes of entangled states arise in a two-qubit system. Some of these classes are of Bell's state types, while others are of the Werner's state types. The degree of entanglement is quantified for different values of the atomic and the cavity parameters. We show that it is possible to generate entangled state with high degree of entanglement by controlling the detuning and the number of photon inside the cavity.

Dynamics of impurity, local and non-local information for two non identical qubits

From the separability point of view the problem of two atoms interact with a single cavity mode is investigated. The density matrix is calculated and used to discuss the entanglement and to examine the dynamics of the local and non-local information. Our examination concentrated on the variation in the mean photon number and the ratio of the coupling parameters. Furthermore, we have also assumed that the atomic system is initially in the ground states as well as in the intermediate states. It has been shown that the local information is transferred to non-local information when the impurity of one qubit or both is maximum.

Generation of maximally entangled states of two cavity modes

In this letter we present a scheme for generating maximally entangled states of two cavity modes which enables us to generate complete set of Bell basis states having rather simple initial state preparation. Furthermore, we study the interaction of a two-level atom with two modes of electromagnetic field in a high Q cavity. The two-level atom acts as a control qubit and the two mode electromagnetic field serves as a target qubit. This simple system of quantum electrodynamics provides us experimentally feasible universal quantum logic gates.

Controlling the quantum computational speed

The speed of quantum computation is investigated through the time evolution of the speed of the orthogonality. The external field components for classical treatment beside the detuning and the coupling parameters for quantum treatment play important roles on the computational speed. It has been shown that the number of photons has no significant effect on the speed of computation. However, it is very sensitive to the variation in both detuning and the interaction coupling parameters.

Entanglement in the bimodal Jaynes-Cummings model with the two-mode squeezed vacuum state

In this paper, we study the interaction between the two-level atom and a bimodal cavity field, namely, two-mode Jaynes-Cummings model when the atom and the modes are initially in the atomic superposition state and two-mode squeezed vacuum state, respectively. For this system we investigate the atomic inversion, linear entropy and atomic Wehrl entropy. We show that there is a connection between all these quantities. Also we prove that the atomic Wehrl entropy exhibits behaviors similar to those of the linear entropy and the von Neumann entropy. Moreover, we show that the bipartite exhibits periodical disentanglement and derive the explicit forms of the states of the atom and the modes at these values of the interaction times.

Reply to Comment on "Quantum inversion of cold atoms in a microcavity: spatial dependence"

The question raised by [Bastin and Martin 2003 J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 36, 4201] is examined and used to explain in more detail a key point of our calculations. They have sought to rebut criticisms raised by us of certain techniques used in the calculation of the off-resonance case. It is also explained why this result is not a problem for the off-resonance case, but, on the contrary, opens the door to a general situation. Their comment is based on a blatant misunderstanding of our proposal and as such is simply wrong.
