Inactivation cross section induced by heavy ions of different energies in Bacterial cells of E. coli: an analytical approach

An analytical inactivation cross section formula based on the analytical formula for calculating the radial dose distribution of Awad et al. (Awad et al., 2018) was proposed. The formula is a multi-hit model based on the track structure theory of Katz that was not updated since Katz and co-workers in 1970s-1980s. The formula was solved numerically to calculation the inactivation cross section, sigma and action cross section for double strand break, sigma DSB for the two strains of the vegetative E. coli cells (BS-1 and B/r) bombarded with heavy ions of O, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, Au, Pb and U of energy between 1.1 to 19.4 MeV/n. The response of the cell and hence the corresponding inactivation cross section is affected by m, the number of targets that must be inactivated per cell; D0, the characteristic x or gamma-ray dose; a0, the target radius and Rmax, the maximum range travelled by the liberated delta-ray in the medium. The variations in the inactivation cross section in terms of these parameters were studied. The model predicts the available measured inactivation cross sections data for E. coli cells (BS-1 and B/r),sigma as well as the double strand break, sigma DSB ones with good accuracy. It was found that as the ion charge increases as the inactivation probability increases and the corresponding inactivation cross section of the ion increases.

Analytic Solution of Multi-Dimensional Schrodinger in Hot and Dense QCD Media Using SUSYQM Method

The N-radial Schrödinger equation is analytically solved by using SUSYQM method, in which the heavy quarkonia potential is introduced at finite temperature and baryon chemical potential. The energy eigenvalue is calculated in the N-dimensional space. The obtained results show that the binding energy strongly decreases with increasing temperature and is slightly sensitive for changing baryon chemical potential up to 0.6 GeV at higher values of temperatures. We employed the nonperturbative corrections to the leading-order of the Debye mass at finite baryon chemical potential. We found that the binding energy is more dissociates when the nonperturbative corrections are included with the leading-order term of Debye mass in both hot and dense media. A comparison is discussed with other works such as the lattice parameterized of Debye mas. Thus, the present potential with the SUSYQM method provides satisfying results for the description of the dissociation of binding energy for heavy quarkonia in hot and dense media.

Dissociation of Quarkonium in hot and Dense Media in an Anisotropic Plasma in the Non-Relativistic Quark Model

In this paper, quarkonium dissociation is investigated in an anisotropic plasma in the hot and dense media. For that purpose, the multidimensional Schrodinger equation is solved analytically by Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method for the real part of the potential in an anisotropic medium. The binding energy and dissociation temperature are calculated. In comparison with an isotropic medium, the binding energy of quarkonium is enhanced in the presence of an anisotropic medium. The present results show that the dissociation temperature increases with increasing anisotropic parameter for 1S state of the charmonium and bottomonium. We observe that the lower baryonic chemical potential has small effect in both isotropic and anisotropic media. A comparison is presented with other pervious theoretical works.

Masses and Thermodynamics Properties of Heavy Mesons in the Non-Relativistic Quark Model Using Nikiforov-Uvarov Method

Thermodynamics properties of heavy mesons are calculated within the framework of the N-dimensional radial Schrodinger equation. The Cornell potential is extended by including the quadratic potential plus the inverse of quadratic potential. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions are calculated in the N-dimensional space using the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NV) method. The obtained results are applied for calculating the mass of spectra of charmonium, bottomonium, bc, and cs mesons. The thermodynamics properties of heavy quarkonia such as, the mean energy, specific heat, free energy, and entropy are calculated. The effect of temperature and the dimensionality number on heavy mesons masses and thermodynamics properties is investigated. The obtained results are improved in comparison with other theoretical approaches and in a good agreement with experimental data. We conclude that the present potential well describes thermodynamic properties in the three-dimensional space and also the higher dimensional space.

Mapping of the 2+1 Dirac-Moshinsky Oscillator Coupled to an External Isospin Field onto Jaynes-Cummings Model

In this paper, the 2+1 Dirac-Moshinsky oscillator (2+1 DMO) coupled to an external isospin field is mapped onto the Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM), which describes the interaction between two two-level systems and a quantum single-mode field. The time-dependent wave function and the density matrix are obtained in the two cases. In the first case, the quantum number state is considered, while in the second case, the coherent state is considered as an initial state. The effect of both the detuning parameter and the coherence angle are studied on the entanglement and on the population inversion. It has been shown that the coherent state gives good description than the number state for the entanglement and the population inversion.

Heavy-Light Mesons in the Non-Relativistic Quark Model Using Laplace Transformation Method

An analytic solution of the N-dimensional radial Schrödinger equation with the mixture of vector and scalar potentials via the Laplace transformation method (LTM) is studied. The present potential is extended to include the spin hyperfine, spin-orbit and tensor interactions. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions have been determined in the N-dimensional space. The present results are employed to study the different properties of the heavy-light mesons. The masses of the scalar, vector, pseudoscalar and pseudovector of B, Bs, D and Ds mesons have been calculated in the three dimensional space. The effect of the dimensional number space is studied on the masses of the heavy-light mesons. We find that the meson mass increases with increasing dimensional space. The decay constants of the pseudoscalar and vector mesons have been computed. In addition, the leptonic decay widths and branching ratio for the B+, D+ and Ds+ mesons have been studied. Therefore, the present method with the present potential gives good results which are in good agreement with experimental data and are improved in comparison with recently theoretical works.

Exact Solution of the N-dimensional Radial Schrödinger Equation via Laplace Transformation Method with the Generalized Cornell Potential

The exact solution of N- dimensional radial Schrödinger equation with the generalized Cornell potential has been obtained using the Laplace transformation (LT) method. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions for any state have been determined. The eigenvalues for some special cases of the generalized Cornell potential are obtained. The present results are applied to calculate the mass spectra of heavy quarkonium systems such as charmonium and bottomonium and the bc meson. A comparison is discussed with the experimental data and recent works. The present results are improved in comparison with other recent studies and are in a good agreement with the experimental data. The effect of the dimensional number (N) on the meson masses has been studied. We note that the meson masses increase in higher dimensions.

Thermo-magnetic Effects in an External Magnetic Field in the Logarithmic-Quark Sigma Model

The phenomenon of magnetic catalysis of chiral symmetry breaking in the quantum chromodynamic theory in the framework of logarithmic quark sigma model is studied. Thermodynamic properties are calculated in the mean-field approximation such as the pressure, the entropy density, the energy density, and measure interaction. The pressure, the entropy density, and the energy density increase with increasing temperature and an external magnetic field. The critical temperature increases with increasing an external magnetic field. In addition, the chiral phase transition is crossover in the presence of an external magnetic field with absent of baryonic chemical potential when explicit symmetry breaking is included. A comparison is presented with the original sigma model and other works. A conclusion indicates that the logarithmic quark model enhances the magnetic catalysis phenomenon.

The chiral symmetry breaking in the presence of an external magnetic field is studied in the framework of logarithmic quark-sigma model with three flavors (u,d,s). The effective logarithmic mesonic potential is extended to strange quark and is numerically solved in the mean-field approximation. The present results show that the chiral symmetry breaking is sensitive for the strange quark flavour in the presence an external magnetic field. In addition, the effect of the free parameters is studied. A comparison with original sigma model is discussed.

Binding Energies and Dissociation Temperatures of Heavy Quarkonia at Finite Temperature and Chemical Potential in the N-dimensional space

The N-dimensional radial Schrödinger equation has been solved using the analytical exact iteration method (AEIM), in which the Cornell potential is generalized to finite temperature and chemical potential. The energy eigenvalues have been calculated in the N-dimensional space for any state (n, l). The present results have been applied for studying quarkonium properties such as charmonium and bottomonium masses. The binding energies and the mass spectra of heavy quarkonia are studied in the N-dimensional space. The dissociation temperatures for different states of heavy quarkonia are calculated in the three dimensional space. The influence of dimensionality number (N) has been discussed on the dissociation temperatures. A comparison is studied with other recent works. We conclude that the AEIM successes to predict the heavy-quarkonium properties at finite temperature and chemical potential.

Extended Chiral Quark Models in the Framework of Quantum Chromodynamic: Theory and their Applications in Hot and Dense Mediums

In this review article, we give overview on the extended chiral quark models. In particular, how these models are extended to include the higher-order interactions, quantized fields, logarithmic potential and the effect of these modifications on hadron properties at hot and dense mediums. In addition, how we deal with non-normalization of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model by using mid-point technique. Therefore, the extended quark models give satisfied results in comparison with lattice QCD at finite temperature and baryonic chemical potential. The extra effort is needed to deal with chiral quark models in the presence of external magnetic field at finite temperature and density.

Ground States of the Hydrogen Molecule and Its Molecular Ion in the Presence of Magnetic Field Using the Variational Monte Carlo Method

By Using the variational Monte Carlo (VMC) method, we calculate the 1sσ_g state energies, the dissociation energies and the binding energies of the hydrogen molecule and its molecular ion in the presence of an aligned magnetic field regime between 0 a.u. and 10 a.u. The present calculations are based on using two types of compact and accurate trial wave functions, which are put forward for consideration in calculating energies in the absence of magnetic field. The obtained results are compared with the most recent accurate values. We conclude that the applications of VMC method can be extended successfully to cover the case of molecules under the effect of the magnetic field.

Nucleon Properties in the Quantized Linear Sigma Model at Finite Temperature and Chemical Potential

The linear sigma model at finite temperature and chemical potential is systematically studied using the coherent-pair approximation, in which fully taking quantum of fields are included. The expectation value of the chiral Hamiltonian density is minimized and the resulting equations for the nucleon are solved. The qualitative features of the quantized sigma and pion fields are strong sensitive to the change of temperature and baryonic chemical potential and are in agreement with the mean-field approximation calculations. It is noticed that the nucleon mass increases with increasing coherence parameter. In addition, the nucleon mass increases with increasing temperature and the baryonic chemical potential and then it decreases at higher values of the temperature and baryonic chemical potential. The obtained results show that the mean-square radius of the proton and the neutron increase with increasing temperature or the baryonic chemical potential and that the pion-nucleon coupling constant decreases with the temperature or chemical potential. We conclude that the coherent-pair approximation successfully give better description of the nucleon properties at finite temperature and baryonic chemical potential

The Effect of Logarithmic Mesonic Potential on the Magnetic Catalysis in the Chiral Quark-Sigma Model

The chiral symmetry breaking in the presence of external magnetic field is studied in the framework of logarithmic quark-sigma model. The effective logarithmic mesonic potential is employed and is numerically solved in the mean-field approximation. We find that the chiral symmetry breaking enhances in comparison with the original sigma model. Two sets of parameterization are investigated in the present model. We find that increasing coupling constant enhances the breaking symmetry while increasing sigma mass inhibits enhancing chiral broken vacuum state. A comparison with the Numbu-Jona-Lasinio model and the Schwinger-Dyson equation is discussed. We conclude that the logarithmic sigma model enhances the magnetic catalysis in comparison with the original sigma model and other models.
