A random matrix model with localization and ergodic transitions

Motivated by the problem of Many-Body Localization and the recent numerical results for the level and eigenfunction statistics on the random regular graphs, a generalization of the Rosenzweig-Porter random matrix model is suggested that possesses two localization transitions as the parameter $γ$ of the model varies from 0 to $\infty$. One of them is the Anderson transition from the localized to the extended states that happens at $γ=2$. The other one at $γ=1$ is the transition from the extended non-ergodic (multifractal) states to the extended ergodic states similar to the eigenstates of the Gaussian Orthogonal Ensemble. We computed the two-level spectral correlation function, the spectrum of multifractality $f(α)$ and the wave function overlap which all show the transitions at $γ=1$ and $γ=2$.

Module and Hochschild cohomology of certain semigroup algebras

We study the relation between module and Hochschild cohomology groups of Banach algebras with a compatible module structure. More precisely, we show that for every commutative Banach $ \mathcal{A} $-$ \mathfrak{A}$-bimodule $ X $ and every $ k \in \mathbb{N}$, the seminormed spaces $ \mathcal{H}^{k}_{\mathfrak{A}} (\mathcal{A},X^*)$ and $ \mathcal{H}^k (\frac{\mathcal{A}}{J}, X^*) $ are isomorphic, where $ J $ is the closed ideal of $ \mathcal{A} $ generated by the elements of the form $ a (α\cdot b)-(a\cdot α)b$ with $ a,b \in \mathcal{A} $ and $α\in \mathfrak{A}. $ As an example, we calculate the module cohomologies of inverse semigroup algebras with coefficients in some related function algebras. In particular, we show that for an inverse semigroup $ S $ with the set of idempotents $ E $, when $\ell^1(E) $ acts on $\ell^1(S) $ by multiplication from right and trivially from left, the first module cohomology $\mathcal{H}^1_{\ell^1(E)} (\ell^1(S), \ell^1(G_S)^{(2n+1)})$ is trivial for each $ n \in \mathbb{N} $. As a consequence we conclude that the second module cohomology $\mathcal{H}^2_{\ell^1(E)} (\ell^1(S),\ell^1(G_S)^{(2n+1)})$ is a Banach space, where $ G_S $ is the maximal group homomorphic image of $ S $.

Multifractality and quantum-to-classical crossover in the Coulomb anomaly at the Mott-Anderson metal-insulator transition

We study the interaction driven localization transition, which a recent experiment in Ga_{1-x}Mn_xAs As has shown to come along with multifractal behavior of the local density of states (LDoS) and the intriguing persistence of critical correlations close to the Fermi level. We show that the bulk of these phenomena can be understood within a Hartree-Fock treatment of disordered, Coulomb-interacting spinless fermions. A scaling analysis of the LDoS correlation demonstrates multifractality with correlation dimension d_2=1.57, which is significantly larger than at a non-interacting Anderson transition. At the interaction-driven transition the states at the Fermi level become critical, while the bulk of the spectrum remains delocalized up to substantially stronger interactions. The mobility edge stays close to the Fermi energy in a wide range of disorder strength, as the interaction strength is further increased. The localization transition is concomitant with the quantum-to-classical crossover in the shape of the pseudo-gap in the tunneling density of states, and with the proliferation of metastable HF solutions that suggest the onset of a glassy regime with poor screening properties.
