An error-protected cross-resonance switch in weakly-tuneable architectures

In two-qubit gates activated by microwave pulses, by turning pulse on or off, the state of qubits are swapped between entangled or idle modes. In either mode, the presence of stray couplings makes qubits accumulate coherent phase error. However, the error rates in the two modes differ because qubits carry different stray coupling strengths in each mode; therefore, eliminating stray coupling from one mode does not remove it from the other. We propose to combine such a gate with a tunable coupler and show that both idle and entangled qubits can become free from stray couplings. This significantly increases the operational switch fidelity in quantum algorithms. We further propose a weakly-tunable qubit as an optimum coupler to bring the two modes parametrically near each other. This remarkably enhances the tuning process by reducing its leakage.

Non linear equation of state and effective phantom divide in brane models

Here, DGP model of brane-gravity is analyzed and compared with the standard general relativity and Randall-Sundrum cases using non-linear equation of state. Phantom fluid is known to violate the weak energy condition. In this paper, it is found that this characteristic of phantom energy is affected drastically by the negative brane-tension $λ$ of the RS-II model. It is found that in DGP model strong energy condition(SEC) is always violated and the universe accelerates only where as in RS-II model even SEC is not violated for $1 < ρ/λ< 2$ and the universe decelerates.

Holographic dark energy and validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics in the dgp brane world

In this paper, we investigate the validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics of the universe in the DGP brane world. The boundary of the universe is assumed to be enclosed by the dynamical apparent horizon or the event horizon. The universe is chosen to be homogeneous and isotropic and the validity of the first law has been assumed here. The matter in the universe is taken in the form of non-interacting two fluid system- one component is the holographic dark energy model and the other component is in the form of dust.
