Quantization of a gauge theory on a curved noncommutative space

We study quantization of a gauge analogon of the Grosse-Wulkenhaar model: we find divergent one-loop contributions to the 1-point and 2-point Green functions. We obtain that five counterterms are necessary for renormalization and that all divergences are logarithmic.

Chiral fermions in noncommutative electrodynamics: renormalizability and dispersion

We analyze quantization of noncommutative chiral electrodynamics in the enveloping algebra formalism in linear order in noncommutativity parameter $θ$. Calculations show that divergences exist and cannot be removed by ordinary renormalization, however they can be removed by the Seiberg-Witten redefinition of fields. Performing the redefinitions explicitly, we obtain renormalizable lagrangian and discuss the influence of noncommutativity on field propagation. Noncommutativity affects the propagation of chiral fermions only: half of the fermionic modes become massive and birefringent.

Geometry of the Grosse-Wulkenhaar Model

We define a two-dimensional noncommutative space as a limit of finite-matrix spaces which have space-time dimension three. We show that on such space the Grosse-Wulkenhaar (renormalizable) action has natural interpretation as the action for the scalar field coupled to the curvature. We also discuss a natural generalization to four dimensions.

The absence of the 4$ψ$ divergence in noncommutative chiral models

In this paper we show that in the noncommutative chiral gauge theories the 4-fermion vertices are finite. The $4ψ$-vertices appear in linear order in quantization of the $θ$-expanded noncommutative gauge theories; in all previously considered models, based on Dirac fermions, the $4ψ$-vertices were divergent and nonrenormalizable.

The Energy-momentum of a Poisson structure

Consider the quasi-commutative approximation to a noncommutative geometry. It is shown that there is a natural map from the resulting Poisson structure to the Riemann curvature of a metric. This map is applied to the study of high-frequency gravitational radiation. In classical gravity in the WKB approximation there are two results of interest, a dispersion relation and a conservation law. Both of these results can be extended to the noncommutative case, with the difference that they result from a cocycle condition on the high-frequency contribution to the Poisson structure, not from the field equations.

Improved Z -> gamma gamma decay in the renormalizable gauge sector of the noncommutative standard model

In this work we propose the Z -> gamma gamma decay as a process strictly forbidden in the standard model, suitable for the search of noncommutativity of coordinates at very short distances. We computed the Z -> gamma gamma partial width in the framework of the recently proposed one-loop renormalizable gauge sector of the noncommutative standard model. New experimental possibilities at LHC are analyzed and a firm bound to the scale of noncommutativity parameter is set around 1 TeV.

Gravity and the Structure of Noncommutative Algebras

A gravitational field can be defined in terms of a moving frame, which when made noncommutative yields a preferred basis for a differential calculus. It is conjectured that to a linear perturbation of the commutation relations which define the algebra there corresponds a linear perturbation of the gravitational field. This is shown to be true in the case of a perturbation of Minkowski space-time.

A Dynamical 2-dimensional Fuzzy Space

The noncommutative extension of a dynamical 2-dimensional space-time is given and some of its properties discussed. Wick rotation to euclidean signature yields a surface which has as commutative limit the doughnut but in a singular limit in which the radius of the hole tends to zero.

Noncommutative 2-Dimensional Models of Gravity

A review is given of some 2-dimensional metrics for which noncommutative versions have been found. They serve partially to illustrate a noncommutative extension of the moving-frame formalism. All of these models suggest that there is an intimate relation between noncommutative geometry on the one hand and classical gravity on the other.
