FERMIONS IN AN EXTERNAL SU(2) MAGNETIC FIELD

We consider Fermions in a constant and uniform external $SU(2)$ magnetic field. We find that the results for the energy levels depend on the choice of gauge potential. Choosing a Landau type gauge potential yields his results. On the other hand in another gauge potential, one obtains a different continuous eigenvalue spectrum.

ANOTHER LOOK AT THE EINSTEIN-MAXWELL EQUATIONS

An electric monopole solution to the equations of Maxwell and Einstein's general relativity is displayed. It differs from the usual one in that all components of the metric vanish at large spatial distances from the charge rather than approaching the Minkowski metric. This enables us to find an approximate solution to that for many charges.

Wightman Functions in QCD

The constraint imposed by Gauss' law is used to show that the matrix elements of n-point Wightman Functions of gluon field and quark current operators at different space time points vanish when taken between physical states.

Compact Lattice QED and the Coulomb Potential

The potential energy of a static charge distribution on a lattice is rigorously computed in the standard compact quantum electrodynamic model. The method used follows closely that of Weyl for ordinary quantum electrodynamics in continuous space-time. The potential energy of the static charge distribution is independent of temperature and can be calculated from the lattice version of Poisson's equation. It is the usual Coulomb potential.
