Subindices and subfactors of $\mathbb{Z}_n$ and $k$-index stability of finite groups

We study subindices, subfactors, and index stability in the cyclic group $\mathbb{Z}_n$. We prove several theorems that not only confirm a conjecture and resolve some open problems about index stability of such groups, but also provide basic tools for the characterization of finite $k$-index stable groups. As a consequence, we completely characterize all 2-element index stable subsets of $\mathbb{Z}_n$, obtain an exact closed formula for their density, and determine all $n$ for which every 2-subset is index unstable. Finally, we present some problems and a research project extending the study to 3-subsets and general $k$-subsets.

Bernoulli polynomials series via analytic summability of functions

Analytic summability of real and complex functions was introduced in 2016. In the topic, the Bernoulli numbers and polynomials were used for defining analytic summand of a given function with a power series on an open domain $D$. In this paper, we study derivatives and integrals of the analytic summand functions and show that the derivatives are the same Bernoulli polynomials series $\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}c_nB_n(z)$ up to a unit forward shift. Therefore, the topic of the analytic summability is a platform for studying Bernoulli polynomials series. In the way, we obtain many new results for the Bernoulli polynomials series such as some related series convergent tests and upper bounds for the Bernoulli polynomials and the mentioned series. For instance, we observe that $\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}c_nB_n(z)$ is absolutely convergent on $\mathbb{C}$, if the numerical series $\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\frac{n!}{π^n}c_n$ is absolutely convergent. Also, we present some applications and various examples of the topic such as the inequality $$|\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{π^n}{n!n^p}B_n(z)|\leq 2e^{π|z|}ζ(p)$$ held for every fixed real number $p>1$ and all $z\in \mathbb{C}$.

Groups in which every Lagrange subset is a factor

We determine the finite groups $G$ in which every subset $A \subseteq G$ of cardinality dividing the order of $G$ is a \emph{factor}, i.e. has a complement $B \subseteq G$ of cardinality $|G|/|A|$ such that $G = A \cdot B$ or $G = B \cdot A$.

Group-Joined-Semigroups and their structures

Every semigroup containing an ideal subgroup is called a homogroup, and it is a grouplike if and only if it has only one central idempotent. On the other hand, a class of algebraic structures covering group-$e$-semigroups $(G,\cdot,e,\odot)$ has been recently introduced. Here $(G,\cdot,e)$ is a group, $(G,\odot)$ is a semigroup and the $e$-join laws $e\odot xy=e\odot x\odot y$ and $xy\odot e=x\odot y\odot e$ hold. This paper shows close relations among these algebraic structures and proves that every group-$e$-semigroup is a group-$e$-homogroup. Also, we give some necessary and sufficient conditions for a group-$e$-semigroup to be group-$e$-grouplike. As some results of the study, we prove several characterizations of identical group-$e$-semigroups, a class of homogroups, and give several examples such as real $b$-group-grouplikes and the Klein group-grouplike.

A generalized theory of ideals and algebraic substructures

In 2011, a topic containing the concepts of upper and lower periodic subsets of (basic) algebraic structures was introduced and studied. The concept of ``upper periodic subsets'' can be considered as a generalized topic of ideals and sub-structures (e.g., subgroups, sub-semigroups, sub-magmas, sub-rings, etc.). Hence, it can be improved to a theory in every algebraic structure which extends many basic concepts including the ideals. This paper follows the mentioned goals and studies related to algebraic and topological aspects. For this purpose, first, we state an improved fundamental theorem about the unique direct representation of left upper periodic subsets and then introduce some extensions and generalizations. As a result of the study, we classify sub-semigroups and subgroups of real numbers and introduce some related topics and concenterable upper periodic subsets. We end the study with many research projects and some future directions of the theory.

Some characterizations of the floor, ceiling and fractional part functions with related results

One of the most important issues for the frequent special functions is the uniqueness conditions of such functions. As far as we know, there are no characterizations for the floor, ceiling, and fractional part functions in general (as real functions $f:\mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$). As integer-valued functions $f:\mathbb{Q}\rightarrow \mathbb{Z}$, we have found a just common characterization for the floor and ceiling functions. Motivated by the topic of decomposer functions and factors of groups, we introduce and prove some characterizations of the above-mentioned functions. We also state and prove the relevant results and some of their generalities and developments.

Computational aspects of subindices and subfactors with characterization of finite index stable groups

Recently, sub-indices and sub-factors of groups with connections to number theory, additive combinatorics, and factorization of groups have been introduced and studied. Since all group subsets are considered in the theory and there are many basic open problems, conjectures, and questions, their computational aspects are particularly important. In this paper, by introducing some computational methods and using theoretical approaches together, we not only solve several problems but also pave the way to study the topic. As the most important result of the study, we completely characterize finite index stable groups.

Complete algorithms for transversals and double coset representatives of subgroups via subfactors

Recently, we have introduced and studied the topic of sub-indices and sub-factors of groups. During those studies, an algorithm for obtaining the sub-factors of a finite group was stated and proved, which has a particular case for calculating the transversals of subgroups. In this work, we first show that it is a complete algorithm for obtaining all transversals. Then, motivated by it, we state and prove a complete general algorithm to obtain all representatives and the number of double cosets of subgroups (which has not been possible so far). Moreover, we introduce the concept of middle direct product of three subsets and several equivalent conditions for a subset to be a complete set of representatives of double cosets. Also, as another important result of the topic, we provide a definitive method to obtain the middle factor of groups relative to a couple of subgroups.

Remarks on the functional equation $f(x+1)=g(x)f(x)$ and a uniqueness theorem for the gamma function

The topic of gamma type functions and related functional equation $f(x+1)=g(x)f(x)$ has been seriously studied from first half of the twentieth century till now. Regarding unique solutions of the equation the asymptotic condition $\displaystyle{\lim_{x \to \infty}}\frac{g(x+w)}{g(x)}=1$, for each $w>0$, is considered in many serial papers including R. Webster's article (1997). Motivated by the topic of limit summability of real functions (introduced by the author in 2001), we first show that the asymptotic condition in the Webster's paper can be reduced to the convergence of the sequence $\frac{g(n+1)}{g(n)}$ to $1$, and then by removing the initial condition $f(1)=1$ we generalize it. On the other hand, Rassias and Trif proved that if $g$ satisfies another appropriate asymptotic condition, then the equation admits at most one solution $f$, which is eventually $\log$-convex of the second order. We also sow that without changing the asymptotic condition for this case, a uniqueness theorem similar to the Webster's result is also valid for eventually $\log$-convex solutions $f$ of the second order. This result implies a new uniqueness theorem for the gamma function which states the $\log$-convexity condition in the Bohr-Mollerup Theorem can be replaced by $\log$-concavity of order two. At last, some important questions about them will be asked.

Mean Value and comparative convex functions

During the study of the topic of limit summability of functions (introduced by the author in 2001), we encountered some types of functions that are related to the mean value theorem. In this paper, we formally define mean value and pointwise MV-functions associated with a given real function and extend some aspects of the mean value theorem and properties. Also, we introduce and study an induced conception which we call comparative convexity (and concavity). As many applications of the study, we prove some uniqueness conditions for related functional equations and completely solve several functional inequalities. It is worth noting that there remain some important open problems and questions for future studies of the topic.
