suq(2)-Invariant Schrodinger Equation of the Three-Dimensional Harmonic Oscillator

We propose a q-deformation of the su(2)-invariant Schrodinger equation of a spinless particle in a central potential, which allows us not only to determine a deformed spectrum and the corresponding eigenstates, as in other approaches, but also to calculate the expectation values of some physically-relevant operators. Here we consider the case of the isotropic harmonic oscillator and of the quadrupole operator governing its interaction with an external field. We obtain the spectrum and wave functions both for q in R+ and generic q in S1, and study the effects of the q-value range and of the arbitrariness in the suq(2) Casimir operator choice. We then show that the quadrupole operator in l=0 states provides a good measure of the deformation influence on the wave functions and on the Hilbert space spanned by them.

Unitary Representations of Su_q(2) on the Plane for q in R+ or Generic q in S1

Some time ago, Rideau and Winternitz introduced a realization of the quantum algebra su_q(2) on a real two-dimensional sphere, or a real plane, and constructed a basis for its representations in terms of q-special functions, which can be expressed in terms of q-Vilenkin functions. In their study, the values of q were implicitly restricted to q in R^+. In the present paper, we extend their work to the case of generic values of q in S^1 (i.e., q values different from a root of unity). In addition, we unitarize the representations for both types of q values, q in R^+ and generic q in S^1, by determining some appropriate scalar products.

Unitary representations of the quantum algebra su_q(2) on a real two-dimensional sphere for $q \in R^+$ or generic $q \in S^1$

Some time ago, Rideau and Winternitz introduced a realization of the quantum algebra su_q(2) on a real two-dimensional sphere, or a real plane, and constructed a basis for its representations in terms of q-special functions, which can be expressed in terms of q-Vilenkin functions, and are related to little q-Jacobi functions, q-spherical functions, and q-Legendre polynomials. In their study, the values of q were implicitly restricted to $q \in R^+$. In the present paper, we extend their work to the case of generic values of $q \in S^1$ (i.e., q values different from a root of unity). In addition, we unitarize the representations for both types of q values, $q \in R^+$ and generic $q \in S^1$, by determining some appropriate scalar products. From the latter, we deduce the orthonormality relations satisfied by the q-Vilenkin functions.

Deformed Harmonic Oscillator Algebras defined by their Bargmann representations

Deformed Harmonic Oscillator Algebras are generated by four operators, two mutually adjoint $a$ and $a^\dagger$, and two self-adjoint $N$ and the unity $1$ such as: $[a,N] = a, [a^\dagger, N]= -a^\dagger, a^\dagger a = ψ(N)$ and $aa^\dagger =ψ(N+1)$. The Bargmann Hilbert space is defined as a space of functions, holomorphic in a ring of the complex plane, equipped with a scalar product involving a true integral. In a Bargmann representation, the operators of a Deformed Harmonic Oscillator Algebra act on a Bargmann Hilbert space and the creation (or the annihilation operator) is the multiplication by $z$. We discuss the conditions of existence of Deformed Harmonic Oscillator Algebras assumed to admit a given Bargmann representation.

Deformed harmonic oscillators : coherent states and Bargmann representations

Generalizing the case of the usual harmonic oscillator, we look for Bargmann representations corresponding to deformed harmonic oscillators. Deformed harmonic oscillator algebras are generated by four operators $a, a^\dagger, N$ and the unity 1 such as $[a,N] = a, [a^\dagger,N] = -a^\dagger$, $a^\dagger a = ψ(N)$ and $aa^\dagger =ψ(N+1)$. We discuss the conditions of existence of a scalar product expressed with a true integral on the space spanned by the eigenstates of $a$ (or $a^\dagger$). We give various examples, in particular we consider functions $ψ$ that are linear combinations of $q^N$, $q^{-N}$ and unity and that correspond to q-oscillators with Fock-representations or with non-Fock-representations.

Bargmann representations for deformed harmonic oscillators

Bargmann representation for some deformed harmonic oscillators with non-Fock representation

We prove that Bargmann representations exist for some deformed harmonic oscillators that admit non-Fock representations. In specific cases, we explicitly obtain the resolution of the identity in terms of a true integral on the complex plane. We prove on explicit examples that Bargmann representations cannot always be found, particularly when the coherent states do not exist in the whole complex plane.

A three-parameter deformation of the Weyl-Heisenberg algebra: differential calculus and invariance

We define a three-parameter deformation of the Weyl-Heisenberg algebra that generalizes the q-oscillator algebra. By a purely algebraical procedure, we set up on this quantum space two differential calculi that are shown to be invariant on the same quantum group, extended to a ten-generator Hopf-star-algebra. We prove that, when the values of the parameters are related, the two differential calculi reduce to one that is invariant under two quantum groups.

Invariance quantum groups of the deformed oscillator algebra

A differential calculus is set up on a deformation of the oscillator algebra. It is uniquely determined by the requirement of invariance under a seven-dimensional quantum group. The quantum space and its associated differential calculus are also shown to be invariant under a nine generator quantum group containing the previous one.

Differential Calculus on a three-parameter oscillator algebra

Two differential calculi are developped on an algebra generalizing the usual q-oscillator algebra and involving three generators and three parameters. They are shown to be invariant under the same quantum group that is extended to a ten-generator Hopf algebra. We discuss the special case where it reduces to a deformation of the invariance group of the Weyl-Heisenberg algebra for which we prove the existence of a constraint between the values of the parameters.
