The $Λ_b \to Λ (\to p π^-)μ^+μ^-$ decay in the $\text{RS}_{c}$ model

We study the four body decay $Λ_b \rightarrow Λ( \rightarrow p π^-) μ^{+} μ^{-}$ in the Randall-Sundrum model with custodial protection $(\text{RS}_c)$. By considering the constraints coming from the direct searches of the lightest Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitation of the gluon, electroweak precision tests, the measurements of the Higgs signal strengths at the LHC and from $ΔF=2$ flavor observables, we perform a scan of the parameter space of the $\text{RS}_c$ model and obtain the maximum allowed deviations of the Wilson coefficients $ΔC^{(\prime)}_{7,\; 9,\; 10}$ for different values of the lightest KK gluon mass $M_{g^{(1)}}$. Later, their implications on the observables such as differential branching fraction, longitudinal polarization of the daughter baryon $Λ$, forward-backward asymmetry with respect to leptonic, hadronic and combined lepton-hadron angles are discussed where we present the analysis of these observables in different bins of di-muon invariant mass squared $s\;(= q^2)$. It is observed that with the current constraints the Wilson coefficients in $\text{RS}_c$ model show slight deviations from their Standard Model values and hence can not accommodate the discrepancies between the Standard Model calculations of various observables and the LHCb measurements in $Λ_b$ decays.

Lepton Flavor Violating Decays of $B$ and $K$ Mesons in Models with Extended Gauge Group

Lepton Flavor Violating (LFV) decays are forbidden in the Standard Model (SM) and to explore them one has to go beyond it. The flavor changing neutral current induced Lepton Flavor Conserving and LFV decays of $K$ and $B$ mesons are discussed in the gauge group $G = SU(2)_L\times U(1)_{Y_1}\times SU(2)_X$. The lepto-quark $X^{\pm 2/3}_μ$ corresponding to gauge group $ SU(2)_X$ allows the quark-lepton transitions and hence giving a framework to construct the effective Lagrangian for the LFV decays. The mass of lepto-quark $m_{X}$ provides a scale at which the gauge group $G$ is broken to the SM gauge group. Using the most stringent experimental limit $\mathcal{B}(K^{0}_{L}\to μ^{\mp}e^{\pm}) < 1.7 \times 10^{-12}$, the upper bound on the effective coupling constant $(\frac{G_{X}}{G_F})^2 < 1.1 \times 10^{-10}$ is obtained for certain pairing of lepton and quark generations in the representation $(2, \bar{2})$ of the group $G$. Later, the effective Lagrangian for the LFV meson decays for the gauge group $G = \left[SU(2)_{L}\times SU(2)_{R}\times U(1)_{Y_1^{\prime}}\right]\times SU(2)_{X}$ is constructed. Using $\mathcal{B}(K^{-} \to π^{-}ν\barν) = (1.7 \pm 1.1)\times 10^{-10}$, the bound on the ratio of effective couplings is obtained to be $\left(\frac{G_{X}}{G_{F}}\right)^2 < 10^{-10}$. A number of decay modes are discussed which provide a promising area to test this model in the current and future particle physics experiments.

Analysis of Angular Observables of $Λ_b \to Λ(\to pπ)μ^{+}μ^{-}$ Decay in Standard and $Z^{\prime}$ Models

In 2015, the LHCb collaboration has measured $\frac{d{\mathcal{B}}}{dq^2}$, the lepton- and hadron-side forward-backward asymmetries, denoted by $A^\ell_{FB}$ and $A^Λ_{FB}$, respectively in the range $15 < q^2(=s) < 20$ GeV$^2$ with 3 fb$^{-1}$ of data. Motivated by these measurements, we perform an analysis of $q^2$ dependent $Λ_b \to Λ(\to p π) μ^+μ^-$ angular observables at large- and low-recoil in the SM and in a family non-universal $Z^{\prime}$ model. In the present study we use the recently performed high-precision lattice QCD calculations of the form factors that have well controlled uncertainties especially in $15 < s < 20$ GeV$^2$ bin. Using the full four-folded angular distribution of $Λ_b \to Λ(\to p π) μ^+μ^-$ decay, firstly we calculate the values of these measured quantitites in the SM and compare their numerical values with the measurements in appropriate bins of $s$. In case of the possible discrepancy between the SM prediction and measurements, we try to see if these can be accommodated though the extra neutral $Z^{\prime}$ boson. In addition, the fraction of longitudinal polarization of the dimuon $F_{L}$ is measured to be $0.61^{+0.11}_{-0.14}\pm 0.03$ in $15 < s < 20$ GeV$^2$ at the LHCb. We find that in this bin the value found in the $Z^{\prime}$ model is close to the observed values. After comparing the results of these observables, we have proposed a number of other observables whose values are calculated in different bins of $s$ in the SM and $Z^{\prime}$ model. We illustrate that the experimental observations of these observables in several bins of $s$ can help to test the predictions of the SM and unravel NP contributions arises due to $Z^{\prime}$ model in these decays.

A New Look at the $Y$ Tetraquarks and $Ω_c$ Baryons in the Diquark Model

We analyze the hidden charm $P$-wave tetraquarks in the diquark model, using an effective Hamiltonian incorporating the dominant spin-spin, spin-orbit and tensor interactions. We compare with other $P$-wave system such as $P$-wave charmonia and the newly discovered $Ω_c$ baryons, analysed recently in this framework. Given the uncertain experimental situation on the $Y$ states, we allow for different spectra and discuss the related parameters in the diquark model. In addition to the presently observed ones, we expect many more states in the supermultiplet of $L=1$ diquarkonia, whose $J^{PC}$ quantum numbers and masses are worked out, using the parameters from the currently preferred $Y$-states pattern. The existence of these new resonances would be a decisive footprint of the underlying diquark dynamics.

Hadronic Weak Decay $\mathcal{B}_{b}(\frac{1}{2}^+) \to \mathcal{B}(\frac{1}{2}^{+},\; \frac{3}{2}^{+}) +V$

It is shown that for the effective Lagrangian with factorization ansatz considered here, the two body hadronic decay $\mathcal{B}_{b}(\frac{1}{2}^+) \to \mathcal{B}(\frac{1}{2}^{+},\; \frac{3}{2}^{+}) + V$, for $\mathcal{B}_{b}(\frac{1}{2}^{+})$ belonging to the representation $\bar{3}$, only allowed decay channel is $\mathcal{B}_{b}(\frac{1}{2}^+) \to \mathcal{B}(\frac{1}{2}^{+})+ V$, where $\mathcal{B}(\frac{1}{2}^{+})$ belongs to the representation $8$ of $SU(3)$. However, for $\mathcal{B}_{b}(\frac{1}{2}^{+})$ belonging to the sextet representation $6$, the allowed decay channels are $\mathcal{B}_{b}(\frac{1}{2}^+) \to \mathcal{B}(\frac{1}{2}^{+},\; \frac{3}{2}^{+}) + V$, where $\mathcal{B}(\frac{1}{2}^{+})$ and $\mathcal{B}(\frac{3}{2}^{+})$ belongs to the octet representation $8^{\prime}$ and the decuplet $10$ of $SU(3)$, respectively. The decay channel $\mathcal{B}_{b}(\frac{1}{2}^+) \to \mathcal{B}(\frac{1}{2}^{+}) + V$ is analyzed in detail. The decay rate ($Γ$) and the asymmetry parameters $α\;, α^{\prime}\;, β\;, γ$ and $γ^{\prime}$ are expressed in terms of four amplitudes. In particular for the decay $Λ_b \to Λ+ J/ψ$ it is shown that within the factorization framework, using heavy quark spin symmetry, the decay rate and the asymmetry parameters can be expressed in terms of two form factors $F_1$ and $F_{2}/F_{1}$, which are to be evaluated in some model. For other heavy quarks belonging to the triplet and sextet representation, the results can be easily obtained by using $SU(3)$ symmetry and phase space factor. Finally, the decay $Ω_{b}^{-} \to Ω^{-} + J/ψ$ is analyzed within the factorization framework. It is shown that the asymmetry parameter $α$ in this particular decay is zero. The branching ratio obtained in the first approximation is compared with the experimental value.

Mass spectrum of spin-1/2 pentaquarks with a $c\bar{c}$ component and their anticipated discovery modes in $b$-baryon decays

The LHCb discovery of the two baryonic states $P_c^+(4380)$ and $P_c^+(4450)$, having $J^{P}=3/2^-$ and $J^{P}=5/2^+$, respectively, in the process $pp \to b \bar{b} \to Λ_b X$, followed by the decay $Λ_b \to J/ψ\; p\; K^-$, has motivated a number of theoretical models. Interpreting them as compact $\{\bar{c}\; [c u] \; [ud]; L_{\mathcal{P}}=0,1\}$ objects, the mass spectroscopy of the $J^P=3/2^-$ and $J^P=5/2^+$ pentaquarks was worked out by us for the pentaquarks in the $SU(3)_F$ multiplets, using an effective Hamiltonian based on constituent diquarks and quarks. Their possible discovery modes in $b$-baryon decays were also given using the heavy quark spin symmetry. In this paper, we calculate the mass spectrum of the hidden $c\bar{c}$ pentaquarks having $J^{P}=\frac{1}{2}^\pm$ for the $SU(3)_F$ multiplets and their anticipated discovery modes in $b$-baryon decays. Some of the $P_c^+(J^P=1/2^\pm$) pentaquarks, produced in the $Λ_{b}$ decays may have their masses just below the $J/ψ\, p$ threshold, in which case they should be searched for in the modes $ P_c^+(J^P=1/2^\pm) \to η_c\; p,\;\; μ^+ μ^- \;p,\;\; e^+ e^-\; p$.

Heavy quark symmetry and weak decays of the $b$-baryons in pentaquarks with a $c\bar{c}$ component

The discovery of the baryonic states $P_c^+(4380)$ and $P_c^+(4450)$ by the LHCb collaboration has evoked a lot of theoretical interest. These states have the minimal quark content $c \bar{c} u u d$. Interpreted as hidden charm diquark-diquark-antiquark baryons, the assigned spin and angular momentum quantum numbers are $P_c^+(4380)= \{\bar{c} [cu]_{s=1} [ud]_{s=1}; L_{\mathcal{P}}=0, J^{\rm P}=\frac{3}{2}^- \}$ and $P_c^+(4450)= \{\bar{c} [cu]_{s=1} [ud]_{s=0}; L_{\mathcal{P}}=1, J^{\rm P}=\frac{5}{2}^+ \}$, where $s=0,1$ are the spins of the diquarks and $L_{\mathcal{P}}=0,1$ are the orbital angular momentum quantum numbers of the pentaquarks. We point out that heavy quark symmetry allows only the higher mass pentaquark state $P_c^+(4450)$ having $[ud]_{s=0}$ to be produced in $Λ_b^0$ decays, whereas the lower mass state $P_c^+(4380)$ having $[ud]_{s=1}$ is disfavored. Pentaquark spectrum is rich enough to accommodate a $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^-$ state, which has the correct light diquark spin $\{\bar{c} [cu]_{s=1} [ud]_{s=0}; L_{\mathcal{P}}=0, J^{\rm P}=\frac{3}{2}^- \}$ to be produced in $Λ_b^0$ decays. Assuming that the orbital mass difference between the charmed pentaquarks is similar to the corresponding mass difference in the charmed baryons, we estimate the mass of the lower pentaquark $J^P=3/2^-$ state to be about 4110 MeV and suggest to reanalyze the LHCb data to search for this third state. We present the spectroscopy of the $S$- and $P$-wave pentaquark states having a $c\bar{c}$ pair and three light quarks using an effective Hamiltonian approach. Some of these pentaquarks can be produced in weak decays of the $b$-baryons. Combining heavy quark symmetry and the $SU(3)_F$ symmetry results in strikingly simple relations among the decay amplitudes which are presented here.

Asymmetries in $B \to K^\ast \ell^+ \ell^-$ Decays and Two Higgs Doublet Model

The study of polarized branching ratio and different lepton polarization asymmeteries in the exclusive rare decays $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ ($\ell=μ, τ$) have been made in the standard model (SM) and in type III of the THDM. It has been found that the effects arise from the THDM are quite promising in the longitudinal and transverse polarized branching ratios $(\mathcal{B}_{L, T})$. Likewise, in case of $μ$'s as final state leptons, the polarized branching ratios have an order of magnitude difference from their SM results. Similar trends have also been observed both in the longitudinal and normal lepton polarization asymmetries $P_{L, N}$ as well as their average values. We hope that the possible signatures of these observables in $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ decays at different on going and future experiments will serve as a good tool in the indirect searches of an extra Higgs boson doublet.

Analysis of Forward-Backward and Lepton Polarization Asymmetries in $B\to K_{1}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ Decays in the Two-Higgs-doublet Model

The exclusive semileptonic $B\to K_{1}(1270) \ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ ($\ell=μ, τ$) decays are analyzed in variants of two Higgs double models (THDMs). The mass eigenstates $K_{1}(1270)$ and $K_{1}(1400)$ are the mixture of two axial-vector SU(3) $^{1}{P}_{1}$ and $^{3}{P}_{1}$ states with the mixing angle $θ_{K}$. Making use of the form factors calculated in the Light Cone QCD approach and by taking the mixing angle $θ_{K}=-34^{\circ}$, the impact of the parameters of the THDMs on different asymmetries in above mentioned semileptonic $B$ meson decays are studied. In this context the forward-backward asymmetry and different lepton polarization asymmetries have been analyzed. We have found comprehensive effects of the parameters of the THDMs on the above mentioned asymmetries. Therefore, the precise measurements of these asymmetries at the LHC and different $B$ factories, for the above mentioned processes, can serve as a good tool to put some indirect constraints on the parametric space of the different versions of THDM.

Local Gauge Transformation for the Quark Propagator in an SU(N) Gauge Theory

In an SU(N) gauge field theory, the n-point Green functions, namely, propagators and vertices, transform under the simultaneous local gauge variations of the gluon vector potential and the quark matter field in such a manner that the physical observables remain invariant. In this article, we derive this intrinsically non perturbative transformation law for the quark propagator within the system of covariant gauges. We carry out its explicit perturbative expansion till O(g_s^6) and, for some terms, till O(g_s^8). We study the implications of this transformation for the quark-anti-quark condensate, multiplicative renormalizability of the massless quark propagator, as well as its relation with the quark-gluon vertex at the one-loop order. Setting the color factors C_F=1 and C_A=0, Landau-Khalatnikov-Fradkin transformation for the abelian case of quantum electrodynamics is trivially recovered.

Ward identities, $\bm{ B\to V}$ transition form factors and applications

Long distance effects are studied in the rare exclusive semileptonic $B_{(d,s)}\to V \ell^+ \ell^-$ decays, where $V$ denotes a $K^*$ or $ϕ$ meson. The form factors, which describe the meson transition amplitudes in the effective Hamiltonian approach, are calculated by means of Ward identities, experimental constraints and extrapolated within a general vector meson dominance framework. These form factors are then compared to the ones obtained in Lattice QCD simulations, with Light Cone Sum Rules and a Dyson-Schwinger equation approach. Additionally, the $B_d\to K^* \ell^+ \ell^-$ and $B_s\to ϕ\ell^+ \ell^- $ branching ratios are computed and the differential branching fractions are given as a function of the squared-momentum transfer.

Imprints of CP violation asymmetries in rare $Λ_{b}\to Λ\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ decay in family non-universal $Z^{\prime}$ model

We investigate the exclusive rare baryonic $Λ_{b}\toΛ\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ in a family non-universal $Z^{\prime}$ model, which is one of the natural extension of standard model. Using transition form factors, calculated in the framework of light cone QCD sum rules, we analyze the effects of polarized and unpolarized CP violation asymmetries for the said decay. Our results indicate that the value of unpolarized and polarized CP-violation asymmetries are considerable in both $Λ_{b}\toΛμ^{+}μ^{-}$ and $Λ_{b}\toΛτ^{+}τ^{-}$ channels and hence they give clear indication of new physics arising from the neutral $Z^{\prime}$ gauge boson. It is hoped that the measurements of these CP-violating asymmetries will not only help us to relate new physics, but also help us to determine the precise values of the parameters of new gauge boson $Z^{\prime}$.

Effects of neutral $Z^{\prime}$ boson in $B_{s} \to ϕ\ell^{+} \ell^{-}$ decay with polarized $ϕ$ and the unpolarized and polarized $CP$ violation asymmetry

The effects of new neutral $Z^\prime$ boson in $B_{s}\toϕ\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$, when $ϕ$ is longitudinal or transverse polarized, are studied. In addition, the implications of $Z^{\prime}$ boson on the unpolarized and polarized $CP$ violation asymmetries, with reference to lepton, are also presented. It is observed that the branching ratio with polarized $ϕ$ are quite sensitive to the $Z^{\prime}$ contributions which are coming through the modification of Wilson coefficients $C^{eff}_{9}$ and $C_{10}$. Moreover, the off-diagonal elements of the chiral $Z^{\prime}$ couplings contain new weak phase $ϕ_{sb}$ that provide a new source of $CP$ violation. Keeping in view that in the FCNC transitions the $CP$ violation asymmetries are highly suppressed in the SM, we have studied the unpolarized and polarized $CP$ violation asymmetries in $B_{s}\toϕ\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ decays. Our results indicate that these $CP$ violation asymmetries are remarkably significant and can attribute the any new physics coming through the $Z^{\prime}$ boson. It is hoped that the accurate measurements of these asymmetries will not only help us to establish NP but will also give a chance to determine the precise values of the coupling parameters of the $Z^{\prime}$ boson.

Lepton Polarization Asymmetries of $H\toγτ^+τ^-$ Decays in Standard Model

Recently, CMS and ATLAS collaborations at LHC announced a Higgs like particle with mass near $125$GeV. Regarding this, to explore its intrinsic properties, different observables are needed to be measured precisely at the LHC for various decay channels of the Higgs. In this context, we calculate the final state lepton polarization asymmetries, namely, single lepton polarization asymmetries ($P_i$) and double lepton polarization asymmetries ($P_{ij}$) in the SM for radiative semileptonic Higgs decay $H\toγτ^+τ^-$. In the phenomenological analysis of these lepton polarization asymmetries both tree and loop level diagrams are considered and it is found that these diagrams give important contributions in the evaluation of said asymmetries. Interestingly, it is found that in $P_{ij}$ the tree level diagrams contribute separately, which however, are missing in the calculations of $P_i$ and the lepton forward-backward asymmetries ($A_{FB}$). Similar to the other observables such as the decay rate and the lepton forward-backward asymmetries, the $τ$-lepton polarization asymmetries would be interesting observables. The experimental study of these observables will provide a fertile ground to explore the intrinsic properties of the SM Higgs boson and its dynamics as well as help us to extract the signatures of the possible new physics beyond the SM.

Impact of $Z^{\prime}$ and UED parameters on different asymmetries in $B_{s} \to ϕ\ell^{+} \ell^{-}$ decays

A comprehensive study of the impact of new-physics on different observables for $B_{s}\to ϕ\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ has been done. We examine the new physics models such as $Z^{\prime}$ and UED models, where the effects of new physics coming through the modification of Wilson coefficients. We have analyzed these effects through the theoretical prediction of the branching ratio, the forward-backward asymmetry, lepton polarization asymmetries and the helicity fractions of the final state meson. These all observables will definitely be measured in present and future colliders with great precision. We also pointed out that hadronic uncertainties in various physical observables are small which make them an ideal probe to establish new physics. Therefore, the measurements of these observables for the same decay would permit the detection of physics beyond the Standard Model and will also help us to distinguish between different new physics scenarios.

Comparative Study of B_{c} --> D_{s}^{*}l^{+}l^{-} Decays in Standard Model and Supersymmetric Models

A comparative study of the exclusive rare $B_{c}\rightarrow D_{s}^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ ($\ell=μ, τ$) decays has been made in the minimal supersymmetric models (MSSM) and the SUSY SO(10) GUT models. In this context, various physical observables such as branching ratios $(\mathcal{BR})$, forward-backward asymmetries $(\mathcal{A}_{FB})$, lepton polarization asymmetries $(P_{L,N,T})$ and helicity fractions ($f_{L,T}$) of $D_{s}^{\ast}$ meson by using the the QCD sum rules form factors have been investigated. It is found that the SUSY effects are characteristically prominent to that of the SM values for these observables. For instance, in SUSY I and SUSY II, the forward-backward asymmetry does not cross zero which is mainly due to the same sign of the $C_{7}^{eff}$ and $C_{9}^{eff}$ Wilson coefficients. Similarly in SUSY SO(10) GUT models due to the complex nature of the new Wilson coefficients -- corresponding to the new operators arising due to the contribution of neutral Higgs bosons (NHBs) -- the above mentioned observables are sizably affected. Therefore the analysis of said observables in charmed semileptonic $B$ meson decays can put some stringent constraints on the parameter space of SUSY variants and can serve as a windowpane to look beyond the SM.

Fourth-generation SM imprints in B -> K^*l^+l^- decays with polarized K^*

The implication of the fourth-generation quarks in the B -> K^*l^+l^- (l=mu,tau) decays, when K^* meson is longitudinally or transversely polarized, is presented. In this context, the dependence of the branching ratio with polarized K^* and the helicity fractions (f_{L,T}) of K^* meson are studied. It is observed that the polarized branching ratios as well as helicity fractions are sensitive to the NP parameters, especially when the final state leptons are tauons. Hence the measurements of these observables at LHC can serve as a good tool to investigate the indirect searches of new physics beyond the Standard Model.

Complementarity of Semileptonic $B$ to $K_2^*(1430)$ and $K^*(892)$ Decays in the Standard Model with Fourth Generation

The $B\rightarrow K_{2}^{\ast}(1430)l^{+}l^{-}$ $(l=μ,τ)$ decays are analyzed in the Standard Model extended to fourth generation of quarks (SM4). The decay rate, forward-backward asymmetry, lepton polarization asymmetries and the helicity fractions of the final state $K^{*}_{2}(1430)$ meson are obtained using the form factors calculated in the light cone sum rules (LCSR) approach. We have utilized the constraints on different fourth generation parameters obtained from the experimental information on $K$, $B$ and $D$ decays and from the electroweak precision data to explore their impact on the $B\rightarrow K_{2}^{\ast}(1430)l^{+}l^{-}$ decay. We find that the values of above mentioned physical observables deviate deviate significantly from their minimal SM predications. We also identify a number of correlations between various observables in $B\rightarrow K_{2}^{\ast}(1430)l^{+}l^{-}$ and $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}(892)l^{+}l^{-}$ decays. Therefore a combined analysis of these two decays will compliment each other in the searches of SM4 effects in flavor physics.
