Pseudo-PT symmetric Dirac equation : effect of a new mean spin angular momentum operator on Gilbert damping

The pseudo-PT symmetric Dirac equation is proposed and analyzed by using a non-unitary Foldy-Wouthuysen transformations. A new spin operator PT symmetric expectation value (called the mean spin operator) for an electron interacting with a time-dependent electromagnetic field is obtained. We show that spin magnetization - which is the quantity usually measured experimentally - is not described by the standard spin operator but by this new mean spin operator to properly describe magnetization dynamics in ferromagnetic materials and the corresponding equation of motion is compatible with the phenomenological model of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation (LLG).

Comment on: "Quantum dynamics of a general time-dependent coupled oscillator"

By using dynamical invariants theory, Hassoul et al. [1,2] investigate the quantum dynamics of two (2D) and three (3D) dimensional time-dependent coupled oscillators. They claim that, in the 2D case, introducing two pairs of annihilation and creation operators uncouples the original invariant operator so that it becomes the one that describes two independent subsystems. For the 3D case, the authors pretend that they have obtained a diagonalized invariant which is exactly the sum of three simple harmonic oscillators. We show that their investigations suffer from basic errors and therefore the found results are not valid .

A real expectation value of the time-dependent non-Hermitian Hamiltonians

With the aim to solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation associated to a time-dependent non-Hermitian Hamiltonian, we introduce a unitary transformation that maps the Hamiltonian to a time-independent $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetric one. Consequently, the solution of time-dependent Schrödinger equation becomes easily deduced and the evolution preserves the $\mathcal{C(}t\mathcal{)PT}$-inner product, where $\mathcal{C(}t\mathcal{)}$ is a obtained from the charge conjugation operator $\mathcal{C}$ through a time dependent unitary transformation. Moreover, the expectation value of the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian in the $\mathcal{C(}t\mathcal{)PT}$ normed states is guaranteed to be real. As an illustration, we present a specific quantum system given by a quantum oscillator with time-dependent mass subjected to a driving linear complex time-dependent potential.

On the invariant method for the time-dependent non-Hermitian Hamiltonians

We propose a scheme to deal with certain time-dependent non-Hermitian Hamiltonian operators $H(t)$ that generate a real phase in their time-evolution. This involves the use of invariant operators $I_{PH}(t)$ that are pseudo-Hermitian with respect to the time-dependent metric operator, which implies that the dynamics is governed by unitary time evolution. Furthermore, $H(t)$ is not generally quasi-Hermitian and does not define an observable of the system but $I_{PH}(t)$ obeys a quasi-hermiticity transformation as in the completely time-independent Hamiltonian systems case. The harmonic oscillator with a time-dependent frequency under the action of a complex time-dependent linear potential is considered as an illustrative example.

Fermion Coherence Hamiltonians

We have established that the most general form of Hamiltonian that preserves fermionic coherent states stable in time, is that of the nonstationary free fermionic oscillator. This is to be compared with the earlier result of boson coherence Hamiltonian, which is of the more general form of the nonstationary forced bosonic oscillator. If however one admits Grassmann variables as Hamiltonian parameters then the coherence Hamiltonian takes again the form of (Grassmannian fermionic) forced oscillator.

Invariants and Coherent States for Nonstationary Fermionic Forced Oscillator

The most general form of Hamiltonian that preserves fermionic coherent states stable in time is found in the form of nonstationary fermion oscillator. Invariant creation and annihilation operators and related Fock states and coherent states are built up for the more general system of nonstationary forced fermion oscillator.

Fermionic coherent states for pseudo-Hermitian two-level systems

We introduce creation and annihilation operators of pseudo-Hermitian fermions for two-level systems described by pseudo-Hermitian Hamiltonian with real eigenvalues. This allows the generalization of the fermionic coherent states approach to such systems. Pseudo-fermionic coherent states are constructed as eigenstates of two pseudo-fermion annihilation operators. These coherent states form a bi-normal and bi-overcomplete system, and their evolution governed by the pseudo-Hermitian Hamiltonian is temporally stable. In terms of the introduced pseudo-fermion operators the two-level system' Hamiltonian takes a factorized form similar to that of a harmonic oscillator.

Solutions to the time-dependent Schrodinger equation in the continuous spectrum case

We generalize the Lewis-Riesenfeld technique of solving the time-dependent Schrodinger equation to cases where the invariant has continuous eigenvalues. An explicit formula for a generalized Lewis-Riesenfeld phase is derived in terms of the eigenstates of the invariant. As an illustration the generalized phase is calculated for a particle in a time-dependent linear potential.

Adiabatic Theorem in the Case of Continuous Spectra

In this paper,we present a rigorous demonstration and discussion of the quantum adiabatic theorem for systems having a non degenerate continuous spectrum. A new strategy is initiated by defining a kind of gap, "a virtual gap", for the continuous spectrum through the notion of eigendifferential (Weyl's packet) and using the differential projector operator. Finally we obtain the validity condition of the adiabatic approximation.

Generalized Geometrical Phase in the Case of Continuous Spectra

A quantal system in an eigenstate, of operators with a continuous nondegenerate eigenvalue spectrum, slowly transported round a circuit C by varing parameters in its Hamiltonian, will acquire a generalized geometrical phase factor. An explicit formula for a generalized geometrical phase is derived in terms of the eigenstates of the Hamiltonian. As an illustration the generalized geometrical phase is calculated for relativistic spinning particles in slowly-changing electromagnetic fields. It is shown that the the S-matrix and the usual scattering (with negligible reflexion) phase shift can be interpreted as a generalized geometrical phase.
