Model Dependent Analysis of D_((s))^+ arrows η^((')) l^+ ν_l Decays in Beyond Standard Model

Motivated by the recent experimental results of branching fractions for D_((s))^+ arrows η^((')) l^+ ν_l decays, which deviate from their SM predictions, we have investigated these decays in W' model and scalar leptoquark model to find possible signatures of new physics (NP) in semileptonic charm decays induced by c arrow(s,d)l {nu}_l transitions. Using recent experimental results of branching fractions for semileptonic D meson decays, new coupling parameters are predicted for the above NP models. Branching fraction, forward-backward asymmetry and lepton polarization asymmetry are studied taking the predicted NP coupling parameters. Results of branching fractions in scalar leptoquark model are found very close to the experimental results and exist around the range 1{sigma} deviation. We have presented a comparative study of the NP models to check their sensitivity on these decays. We anticipate that further research on these decays will significantly support our findings.

Superconductivity in Breathing Kagome-Structured C14 Laves Phase XOs2(X = Zr, Hf)

Recently, the emergence of superconductivity in kagome metals has generated significant interest due to its interaction with flat bands and topological electronic states, which exhibit a range of unusual quantum characteristics. This study thoroughly investigates largely unexplored breathing Kagome structure C14 laves phase compounds XOs$_{2}$ (X = Zr, Hf) by XRD, electrical transport, magnetization, and specific heat measurements. Our analyses confirm the presence of the MgZn$_{2}$-type structure in ZrOs$_{2}$ and HfOs$_{2}$ compounds, exhibiting type-II superconductivity with critical temperature (T$_{C}$) values of 2.90(3) K and 2.69(6) K, respectively. Furthermore, specific heat measurements and an electron-phonon coupling constant suggest the presence of weakly coupled BCS superconductivity in both compounds.

Study of new physics effects in lepton flavour violating B decays into K2^star(1430)l1 l2

Lepton flavour violation (LFV) is one of the most trending topics to probe new physics (NP). The powerful accelerators have enhanced their intensities to observe the LFV decays very precisely. In this situation, the theorists are also interested to study these decays in various NP models and in model independent way to get precise results. Motivated by these results we have studied B decays into K2^star(1430)l1 l2 in non-universal Z^' model. Here, we have structured the two-fold angular distribution of the decays in terms of transversity amplitudes and the transversity amplitudes are formed with NP Wilson coefficients. The variation of the branching ratios and forward backward asymmetries show the sensitivity of NP. The observables calculated in this work are very interesting and might provide a new way towards NP.

Emergent superconductivity by Re doping in type -II Weyl semimetal NiTe2

Recently topological superconductors emerge as a platform to realise Majorana Fermions which has potential application in topological quantum computation. Superconductivity in these materials can be realised by chemical doping, high pressure or proximity effect. Herein we report the emergent superconductivity in single-crystals of Re doped type-II Weyl semimetal NiTe2. The magnetic and transport measurements highlight that Re substitution in Ni-site induces superconductivity at a maximum temperature of 2.36 K. Hall effect and specific heat measurements indicate that Re substitution is doping hole and facilitates the emergence of superconductivity by phonon softening and enhancing the electron-phonon coupling.

Pion Mass Modification in presence of external magnetic field

In this work, the self energies of $π^0$ and $π^{\pm}$ up to one loop order have been calculated in the limit of weak external magnetic field. The effective masses are explicitly dependent on the magnetic field which are modified significantly for the pseudoscalar coupling due to weak field approximation of the external field. On the other hand, for the pseudovector coupling, there is a modest increment in the effective masses of the pions. These theoretical developments are relevant for the study of the phenomenological aspect of mesons in the context of neutron stars as well as heavy ion collisions.

Energy loss of a heavy quark in a hot QCD plasma

In this work we have studied the collisional energy loss of a heavy quark propagating through a high temperature QCD plasma consisting of both heavy and light quarks to leading logarithmic order in the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) coupling constant. The formalism adopted in this work shows a significant enhancement for the charm quark energy loss when the bath particles are also considered to be heavy in addition to light quarks. We know the running coupling constant is dependent on the momentum of the particles and the temperature of the system. Therefore, we have presented a comparison of the energy loss of the charm quark due to scattering with another heavy quark with constant and running coupling constant for different temperatures. The results show a substantial increase of the energy loss when compared to the fixed coupling case.

Enhancement of ferromagnetism upon thermal annealing in pure ZnO

We report here enhancement of ferromagnetism in pure ZnO upon thermal annealing with the ferromagnetic transition temperature Tc above room temperature. We observe a finite coercive field upto 300K and a finite thermoremanent magnetization upto 340K for the annealed sample. We propose that magnetic moments can form at anionic vacancy clusters. Ferromagnetism can occur due to either superexchange between vacancy clusters via isolated F+ centers, or through a limited electron delocalization between vacancy clusters. Isolated vacancy clusters or isolated F+ centers give rise to a strong paramagnetic like behaviour below 10K.
