New Improved Schwarzschild Black Hole and Its Thermodynamics and Topological Classification

We construct a renormalization-group improved Schwarzschild-like black hole geometry using the exact new scheme running for the Newton coupling. The scale identification is implemented via a standard interpolating proper-distance function that smoothly connects the ultraviolet and infrared regimes. We present the resulting coordinate-dependent coupling and the improved metric function, analyzing its asymptotic expansions. The large-distance limit is shown to recover the classical Schwarzschild solution, while the short-distance behavior exhibits a regular de Sitter-like core, demonstrating the regularization of the central singularity. We also analyze the thermodynamic properties of the solution, showing that quantum corrections significantly modify the small-radius behavior, leading to a remnant configuration and a nontrivial phase structure. Finally, we perform a topological classification of the thermodynamic phase space and demonstrate that asymptotically safe effects shift the critical point while preserving the global topological number of the Schwarzschild solution.

Topological Thermodynamics of Black Holes: Revisiting the methods of winding numbers calculation

In this paper, the equivalence between two methods for computing winding numbers is established: the approach of $\phi$-mapping topological current and the residue method. The methods are shown to be equivalent when the condition $M'' S' - S'' M' \neq 0$ holds, while deviations appear when this relation fails, signaling subtle connections between mass $M(r_h)$, entropy $S(r_h)$, and topological structure, with $r_h$ being the horizon radius. We first verify this equivalence to Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordstr"om black holes, recovering known classifications and confirming the consistency of our approach with respect to the validity of the above condition. We then extend the analysis to four-dimensional black strings, regarded as cylindrically symmetric black hole solutions in asymptotically AdS spacetimes. Our results show that both neutral and charged black strings possess the same global topological number, $W = +1$, implying that electric charge does not influence their topological classification. This insensitivity to charge mirrors earlier findings for BTZ black holes in three dimensions, suggesting that it may represent a universal property of cylindrically symmetric black holes in AdS backgrounds.

Field Sources for $f(R,R_{\mu\nu})$ Black-Bounce Solutions: The Case of K-Gravity

In the framework of Simpson-Visser, the search for field sources that produce black-bounces in alternative gravity theories has remained unresolved. In this paper, the first in a series exploring sources for alternative theories of gravity, we identify such a source for the $2+1$ dimensional K-gravity black-bounce. The K-gravity black hole is notable for allowing asymptotically locally flat solutions in lower-dimensional spacetime, yet it possesses curvature singularities concealed within the event horizon. Using the Simpson-Visser regularization technique, we eliminate this singularity, constructing asymptotically locally flat black-bounce solutions in $2+1$ dimensions. We explore the causal structure of these solutions, identifying the conditions under which they describe regular black holes or wormholes. By calculating curvature invariants, we confirm the absence of singularities within the event horizon. Additionally, we demonstrate that, beyond non-linear electrodynamics, a non-linear scalar field is required to source the solution. Finally, we investigate the geodesic structure of this spacetime, analyzing the trajectories of both massive and massless particles. We also confirm the existence of circular orbits and assess their stability.

Black Strings in Asymptotically Safe Gravity

In this paper, we study black strings in asymptotic safety gravity (ASG) scenario. The ASG approach is introduced by implementing gravitational and cosmological running coupling constants directly in the black string metric. We calculate the Hawking temperature, entropy, and heat capacity of the improved black string metric in two cases: considering the cosmological constant fixed in some fixed point and the general case where both Newton's constant and cosmological constant are improved. For the identification of the scale moment we used an general inverse law setting $k(r)\sim 1/r^{n}$. We show that improving only the Newton's constant the problem of singularity is solved for the identifications with $n>1$. However, if the cosmological constant is also running the singularity persists in the solution. Also, we show that the ASG effects predicts the presence of a remnant mass in the final evaporation process. Besides that, a logarithmic correction is observed in the entropy. However, a running cosmological constant introduces new correction terms to the entropy beyond that. We show that the improved black string solution remains stable, as in the usual case. Phase transitions are not observed in both cases studied here.

Generalized Ellis-Bronnikov wormholes in asymptotically safe gravity

In this paper we study a class of wormhole solutions called generalized Ellis-Bronnikov wormholes in the context of asymptotically safe gravity (ASG). These solutions are characterized by two parameters: an even number $n$ and the wormhole throat radius $r_t$. The particular case $n=2$ recovers the usual Ellis-Bronnikov spacetime, which has already been addressed in the literature. We analyzed the nature of matter in the wormhole's throat, and in nearby regions, of these generalized solutions with $n>2$, using three curvature scalars in the ASG approach, namely, the Ricci scalar, squared Ricci and the Kretschmann scalar. We have shown that the ASG leads to corrections in the matter at the wormhole's throat only for the $n=4$ case. For the squared Ricci and the Kretschmann we find that exotic matter is always necessary, as previously found for the usual Ellis-Bronnikov. However, for the Ricci scalar case, we found that ordinary matter is allowed at the throat. Therefore, the generalized Ellis-Bronnikov wormhole provides to the possibility of having ordinary matter at the throat in the context of asymptotically safe gravity.

On the traversability of wormhole solutions in asymptotically safe gravity

In this paper we study the traversability of a wormhole in the context of Asymptotically Safe Gravity (ASG) for two different cases, namely, the spherical case and the pseudospherical case. We carried out an analysis in the throat of the wormhole with an specific choice of the cutoff function $f=\xi R$. Recently, this study has been performed in Ref \cite{Moti:2020whf}, however the authors consider only a classical source with constant state parameter $\omega$. Here we have generalized their study in two ways: a) with a classical state parameter which is dependent of the position $\omega(r)$ and b) with an ASG improvement of the source. We have showed that it is possible to have traversability with exotic and non-exotic matter, but the kind of matter is highly dependent on the wormhole's parameters.

Schwarzschild-like Wormholes in Asymptotically Safe Gravity

In this paper, we analyze the Schwarzschild-like wormhole in the Asymptotically Safe Gravity(ASG) scenario. The ASG corrections are implemented via renormalization group methods, which, as consequence, provides a new tensor $X_{\mu\nu}$ as a source to improved field equations, and promotes the Newton's constant into a running coupling constant. In particular, we check whether the radial energy conditions are satisfied and compare with the results obtained from the usual theory. We show that only in the particular case of the wormhole being asymptotically flat(Schwarzschild Wormholes) that the radial energy conditions are satisfied at the throat, depending on the chosen values for its radius $r_0$. In contrast, in the general Schwarzschild-like case, there is no possibility of the energy conditions being satisfied nearby the throat, as in the usual case. After that, we calculate the radial state parameter, $\omega(r)$, in $r_0$, in order to verify what type of cosmologic matter is allowed at the wormhole throat, and we show that in both cases there is the possibility of the presence of exotic matter, phantom or quintessence-like matter. Finally, we give the $\omega(r)$ solutions for all regions of space. Interestingly, we find that Schwarzschild-like Wormholes with excess of solid angle of the sphere in the asymptotic limit have the possibility of having non-exotic matter as source for certain values of the radial coordinate $r$. Furthermore, it was observed that quantum gravity corrections due the ASG necessarily imply regions with phantom-like matter, both for Schwarzschild and for Schwarzschild-like wormholes. This reinforces the supposition that a phantom fluid is always present for wormholes in this context.
