Some transformation formulas associated with Askey-Wilson polynomials and Lassalle's formulas for Macdonald-Koornwinder polynomials

We present a fourfold series expansion representing the Askey-Wilson polynomials. To obtain the result, a sequential use is made of several summation and transformation formulas for the basic hypergeometric series, including the Verma's q-extension of the Field and Wimp expansion, Andrews' terminating q-analogue of Watson's 3F2 sum, Singh's quadratic transformation. As an application, we present an explicit formula for the Koornwinder polynomial of type BCn (n in Z_>0) with one row diagram. When the parameters are specialized, we recover Lassalle's formula for Macdonald polynomials of type Bn, Cn and Dn with one row diagram, thereby proving his conjectures.

Point configurations, Cremona transformations and the elliptic difference Painlevé equation

A theoretical foundation for a generalization of the elliptic difference Painlevé equation to higher dimensions is provided in the framework of birational Weyl group action on the space of point configurations in general position in a projective space. By introducing an elliptic parametrization of point configurations, a realization of the Weyl group is proposed as a group of Cremona transformations containing elliptic functions in the coefficients. For this elliptic Cremona system, a theory of $τ$-functions is developed to translate it into a system of bilinear equations of Hirota-Miwa type for the $τ$-functions on the lattice.

A family of quantum projective spaces and related q-hypergeometric orthogonal polynomials

We define a one-parameter family of two-sided coideals in U_q(gl(n)) and study the corresponding algebras of infinitesimally right invariant functions on the quantum unitary group U_q(n). The Plancherel decomposition of these algebras with respect to the natural transitive U_q(n)-action is shown to be the same as in the case of a complex projective space. By computing the radial part of a suitable Casimir operator, we identify the zonal spherical functions (i.e. infinitesimally bi-invariant matrix coefficients of finite-dimensional irreducible representations) as Askey-Wilson polynomials containing two continuous and one discrete parameter. In certain limit cases, the zonal spherical functions are expressed as big and little q-Jacobi polynomials depending on one discrete parameter.

Multivariable Askey-Wilson Polynomials and Quantum Complex Grassmannians

We present a one-parameter family of constant solutions of the reflection equation and define a family of quantum complex Grassmannians endowed with a transitive action of the quantum unitary group. By computing the radial part of a suitable Casimir operator, we identify the zonal spherical functions (i.e. infinitesimally bi-invariant matrix coefficients of finite-dimensional irreducible representations) as multivariable Askey-Wilson polynomials containing two continuous and two discrete parameters.

Topological String, Matrix Integral, and Singularity Theory

We study the relation between topological string theory and singularity theory using the partition function of $A_{N-1}$ topological string defined by matrix integral of Kontsevich type. Genus expansion of the free energy is considered, and the genus $g=0$ contribution is shown to be described by a special solution of $N$-reduced dispersionless KP system. We show a universal correspondences between the time variables of dispersionless KP hierarchy and the flat coordinates associated with versal deformations of simple singularities of type $A$. We also study the behavior of topological matter theory on the sphere in a topological gravity background, to clarify the role of the topological string in the singularity theory. Finally we make some comment on gravitational phase transition.

Heisenberg realization for U_q(sln) on the flag manifold

We give the Heisenberg realization for the quantum algebra $U_q(sl_n)$, which is written by the $q$-difference operator on the flag manifold. We construct it from the action of $U_q(sl_n)$ on the $q$-symmetric algebra $A_q(Mat_n)$ by the Borel-Weil like approach. Our realization is applicable to the construction of the free field realization for the $U_q(\widehat{sl_n})$ [AOS].
