On decoherence induced by a spin chain: role of initial prepared states

We study the decoherence process induced by a spin chain environment on a central spin consisting of R spins and we apply it on the dynamics of quantum correlations (QCs) of three interacting qubits. In order to see the impact of the initial prepared state of the spin chain environment on the decoherence process, we assume the spin chain environment prepared in two main ways, namely, either the ground state or the vacuum state in the momentum space. We develop a general heuristic analysis when the spin chain environment in prepared in these states, in order to understand the decoherence process against the physical parameters. We show that the decoherence process is mainly determined by the choice of the initial prepared state, the number of spin of the chain, the coupling strength, the anisotropy parameter and the position from the quantum critical point. In fact, in the strong coupling regime, the decoherence process does not appear for the environment prepared in the vacuum state and it behaves oscillatory in the case of evolution from ground state. On the other hand, in the weak coupling regime and far from the quantum critical point, decoherence induced by the ground state is weaker than that of the vacuum state. Finally, we show that, QCs are completely shielded from decoherence in the case of evolution from the W state and obey the same dynamics as the decoherence factors for the GHZ state.

Dynamics of entanglement and state-space trajectories followed by a system of four-qubit in the presence of random telegraph noise: common environment (CE) versus independent environments (IEs)

The paper investigates the dynamics of entanglement and explores some geometrical characteristics of the trajectories in state space, in four-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ)-and W-type states, coupled to common and independent classical random telegraph noise (RTN) sources. It is shown from numerical simulations that: (i) the dynamics of entanglement depends drastically not only on the input configuration of the qubits and the presence or absence of memory effects, but also on whether the qubits are coupled to the RTN in a CE or IEs; (ii) a considerable amount of entanglement can be indefinitely trapped when the qubits are embedded in a CE; (iii) the CE configuration preserve better the entanglement initially shared between the qubits than the IEs, however, for W-type states, there is a period of time and/or certain values of the purity for which, the opposite can be found. Thanks to results obtained in our earlier works on the three-qubit model, we are able to conclude that entanglement becomes more robustly protected from decay when the number of qubits of the system increases. Finally, we find that the trajectories in state space of the system quantified by the quantum Jensen Shannon divergence (QJSD) between the time-evolved states of the qubits and some reference states may be curvilinear or chaotic.

Path Integral approach to kinematical browmian motion, due to random canonical transformation

The stochastization of the Jacobi second equality of classical mechanics, by Gaussian white noises for the Lagrangian of a particle in an arbitrary field is considered. The quantum mechanical Hamilton operator similar to that in Euclidian quantum theory is obtained. The conditional transition probability density of the presence of a Browmian particle is obtained with the help of the functional integral. The technique of factorisation of the solution of the Fokker-Planck equation is employed to evaluate the effective potential energy.
