Probing the Scalar Sector: Discovery Reach for Heavy Higgs Pairs at a $\sqrt{s} = 6$ TeV Muon Collider in the 2HDM Alignment Limit

This study provides a comprehensive phenomenological investigation into the discovery potential of heavy Higgs boson pairs ($HH, HA, AA, H^+H^-$) at a $\sqrt{s}=6$~TeV Muon Collider. Utilizing the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) Type-I within the alignment limit ($\sin(β-α) \approx 1$), we evaluate two primary benchmarks with degenerate scalar masses of 1000~GeV (BP1) and 2000~GeV (BP2). Theoretical calculations performed reveal that Type-I branching fractions to third-generation fermions remain uniquely independent of $\tanβ$, providing a stable signal across the investigated parameter space. We demonstrate that the Muon Collider environment allows for the precise identification of high-multiplicity hadronic final states. A key finding of this research is that the signal processes yield distinctive topological signatures: an 8-jet state ($4j+4b$) for charged pairs and a highly complex 12-jet state ($8j+4b$) for neutral pairs ($HA/AA$). These signatures, combined with hard transverse momentum distributions and central pseudorapidity ($|η| \le 3$), allow for nearly absolute suppression of Standard Model backgrounds like $t\bar{t}$, $W^+W^-Z$, and $ZZZ$. At an integrated luminosity of 10~ab$^{-1}$, we report a staggering statistical significance of 104,000 for the $H^+H^-$ channel and 3343 for the $HA$ channel in the BP1 scenario. Furthermore, total selection efficiencies were found to increase from approximately 20\% at BP1 to 47\% at BP2, suggesting that the decay products of heavier scalars are kinematically easier to resolve. We conclude that a 6~TeV Muon Collider offers an unparalleled discovery reach for the extended scalar sector, providing a definitive facility for probing physics beyond the Standard Model.

Strong Field Optical Hall Effect in 2D Weyl Semimetal

The study of interplay between the geometric nature of Bloch electrons and transverse responses under strong field offers new opportunities for optoelectronic applications. Here, we present a comprehensive study of the strong-field response of Weyl Dirac nodes in bilayer T'-WTe2 using time-dependent first-principles formalism. The electron dynamics is explored focusing on the mid-infrared frequency, ranging from the perturbative to nonperturbative regime. In the nonperturbative regime, the high-harmonic generation (HHG) spectra under a strong field clearly exhibit a plateau and energy cutoffs for both longitudinal and anomalous Hall (transverse) currents, with the latter being due to the large interband Berry curvature of the Weyl-Dirac semimetal. For the longitudinal harmonics, the intraband contributions increase with intensity, resulting in a complex interplay between interband polarization and intraband motions. Remarkably, if we take a comprehensive all-band perspective enabled by time-dependent density functional calculations, the anomalous Hall responses are purely attributed to the interband processes, even in the nonperturbative regime, thus Hall HHG can be crucial to understand the carrier dynamics. Our findings suggest that HHG associated with the ultrafast strong-field driven electron dynamics holds immense potential for exploring the nonlinear high Hall responses in Weyl semimetal.

Ultrafast Optical Control of Multi-Valley States in 2D SnS

We theoretically study the ultrafast optical control of multiple valley states in two-dimensional (2D) tin sulfide (SnS) monolayers, a member of the layered group-IV monochalcogenides, which is a promising class of materials for overcoming current challenges in valleytronics. By combining time-dependent density functional theory with Maxwells equations, we simulate how both linearly and circularly polarized ultrashort laser pulses affect the electronic excitation dynamics and valley polarization in SnS. Our results reveal that the corrugated phosphorene-like crystal structure of SnS monolayers leads to the emergence of both linear and circular dichroism, allowing flexible manipulation of multi-valley excitation by simply adjusting the light polarization. Moreover, the interplay between broken inversion symmetry and spin-orbit coupling gives rise to distinct Berry curvature effects and spin-valley coupling, thereby enabling circular dichroism. Furthermore, we propose that tuning the carrier-envelope phase of few-cycle femtosecond laser pulses can achieve sub-cycle, ultrafast switching among multiple valleys states. These findings not only deepen our understanding of valley dynamics in 2D materials but may also open new avenues for the development of valleytronic devices.

Noether symmetries and first integrals of damped harmonic oscillator

Noether theorem establishes an interesting connection between symmetries of the action integral and conservation laws of a dynamical system. The aim of the present work is to classify the damped harmonic oscillator problem with respect to Noether symmetries and to construct corresponding conservation laws for all over-damped, under damped and critical damped cases. For each case we obtain maximum five linearly independent group generators which provide related five conserved quantities. Remarkably, after obtaining complete set of invariant quantities we obtain analytical solutions for each case. In the current work, we also introduce a new Lagrangian for the damped harmonic oscillator. Though the form of this new Lagrangian and presented by Bateman are completely different, yet it generates same set of Noether symmetries and conserved quantities. So, this new form of Lagrangian we are presenting here may be seriously interesting for the physicists. Moreover, we also find the Lie algebras of Noether symmetries and point out some interesting aspects of results related to Noether symmetries and first integrals of damped harmonic oscillator which perhaps not reported in the earlier studies.

Accretion on High Derivative Asymptotically Safe Black Holes

Asymptotically safe gravity is one effective approach to quantum gravity. It is important to differentiate the modified gravity inspired by asymptotically safe gravity. In this paper, we examine the matter particles dynamics near the improved version of Schwarzschild black hole. We assume that in the context of asymptotically safe gravity scenario the ambient matter surrounding the black hole is of isothermal in nature and investigate the spherical accretion of matter by deriving solutions at critical points. The analysis for the various values of the state parameter for isothermal test fluids, viz., $k=1,~1/2,~1/3,~1/4$ show the possibility of accretion onto asymptotically safe black hole. We formulate the accretion problem as Hamiltonian dynamical system and explain its phase flow in detail which reveals interesting results in asymptotically safe gravity theory.

Reconstruction of f(T) and f(R) gravity according to (m,n)-type holographic dark energy

Motivated by earlier works on reconstruction of modified gravity models with dark energy components, we extend them by considering a newly proposed model of (m, n)- type of holographic dark energy for two models of modified gravity, f(R) and f(T) theories, where R and T represent Ricci scalar and torsion scalar respectively. Specifically we reconstruct the two later gravity models and discuss their viability and cosmography. The obtained gravity models are ghost free, compatible with local solar system tests and describe effective positive gravitational constant.

Non-equilibrium thermodynamics of dark energy on the power-law entropy corrected apparent horizon

We investigate the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe (containing dark energy) as a non-equilibrium (irreversible) thermodynamical system by considering the power-law correction to the horizon entropy. By taking power-law entropy area law which appear in dealing with the entanglement of quantum fields in and out the horizon, we determine the power-law entropy corrected apparent horizon of the FRW universe.

Thermodynamics of phantom energy in the presence of a Reissner-Nordstrom black hole

In this paper, we study the validity of the generalized second law (GSL) in phantom dominated universe in the presence of a Reissner-Nordström (RN) black hole. Our study is independent of the origin of the phantom like behavior of the considered universe. We also discuss the GSL in the neighborhood of transition from quintessence to phantom regime. We show that for a constant equation of state parameter, the GSL may be satisfied provided that the temperature is proportional to de Sitter temperature. It is shown that in models with (only) a transition from quintessence to phantom regime the generalized second law does not hold in the transition epoch. Next we show that if the phantom energy has a chemical potential, then the GSL will hold if the mass of black hole is above from a critical value.

Dynamics of interacting phantom and quintessence dark energies

We present models, in which phantom energy interacts with two different types of dark energies including variable modified Chaplygin gas (VMCG) and new modified Chaplygin gas (NMCG). We then construct potentials for these cases. It has been shown that the potential of the phantom field decreases from a higher value with the evolution of the Universe.

Dynamics and Thermodynamics of (2+1)-Dimensional Evolving Lorentzian Wormhole

In this paper we study the relationship between the Einstein field equations for the (2+1)-dimensional evolving wormhole and the first law of thermodynamics. It has been shown that the Einstein field equations can be rewritten as a similar form of the first law of thermodynamics at the dynamical trapping horizon (as proposed by Hayward) for the dynamical spacetime which describes intrinsic thermal properties associated with the trapping horizon. For a particular choice of the shape and potential functions we are able to express field equations as a similar form of first law of thermodynamics $dE=-TdS+WdA$ at the trapping horizons. Here $E=ρA$, $T=-κ/2π$, $S=4π\tilde{r}_{A}$, $W=(ρ-p)/2$%, and $A=π\tilde{r}_{A}^{2}$, are the total matter energy, horizon temperature, wormhole entropy, work density and volume of the evolving wormhole respectively.

Thermodynamics of interacting entropy-corrected holographic dark energy in a non-flat FRW universe

A so-called "entropy-corrected holographic dark energy" (ECHDE), was recently proposed to explain the dark energy-dominated universe with the help of quantum corrections to the entropy-area relation in the setup of loop quantum cosmology. Using this new definition, we investigate its thermodynamical features including entropy and energy conservation. We describe the thermodynamical interpretation of the interaction between ECHDE and dark matter in a non-flat universe. We obtain a relation between the interaction term of the dark components and thermal fluctuation. Our study further generalizes the earlier works [M.R. Setare and E.C. Vagenas, Phys. Lett. B 666 (2008) 111; B. Wang et al., Phys. Lett. B 662 (2008) 1] in this direction.

Interacting entropy-corrected new agegraphic tachyon, K-essence and dilaton scalar field models of dark energy in non-flat universe

We present the new agegraphic dark energy model by introducing the quantum corrections to the entropy-area relation in the setup of loop quantum gravity. Employing this new form of dark energy, we investigate the model of interacting dark energy and derive its equation of state. We study the correspondence between the tachyon, K-essence and dilaton scalar field models with the interacting entropy-corrected new agegraphic dark energy model in the non-flat FRW universe. Moreover, we reconstruct the corresponding scalar potentials which describe the dynamics of the scalar field models.

Interacting entropy-corrected holographic Chaplygin gas model

Holographic dark energy (HDE), presents a dynamical view of dark energy which is consistent with the observational data and has a solid theoretical background. Its definition follows from the entropy-area relation $S(A)$, where $S$ and $A$ are entropy and area respectively. In the framework of loop quantum gravity, a modified definition of HDE called "entropy-corrected holographic dark energy" (ECHDE) has been proposed recently to explain dark energy with the help of quantum corrections to the entropy-area relation. Using this new definition, we establish a correspondence between modified variable Chaplygin gas, new modified Chaplygin gas and the viscous generalized Chaplygin gas with the entropy corrected holographic dark energy and reconstruct the corresponding scalar potentials which describe the dynamics of the scalar field.

Interacting holographic dark energy with logarithmic correction

The holographic dark energy (HDE) is considered to be the most promising candidate of dark energy. Its definition is originally motivated from the entropy-area relation which depends on the theory of gravity under consideration. Recently a new definition of HDE is proposed with the help of quantum corrections to the entropy-area relation in the setup of loop quantum cosmology. Using this new definition, we investigate the model of interacting dark energy and derive its effective equation of state. Finally we establish a correspondence between generalized Chaplygin gas and entropy-corrected holographic dark energy.

Phantom Wormholes in (2+1)-dimensions

In this paper, we have constructed a (2+1)-dimensional wormhole using inhomogeneous and anisotropic distribution of phantom energy. We have determined the exact form of the equation of state of phantom energy that supports the wormhole structure. Interestingly, this equation of state is linear but variable one and is dependent only on the radial parameter of the model.

Interacting Holographic Viscous Dark Energy Model

In this manuscript, we present a generalization of the interacting holographic dark energy model using the viscous generalized Chaplygin gas. We also study the model by considering a dynamical Newton's constant $G$. Then we reconstruct the potential and the dynamics of the scalar field which describe the viscous Chaplygin cosmology.

Generalized Holographic Dark Energy Model

In this paper, the model of holographic Chaplygin gas has been extended to two general cases: first is the case of modified variable Chaplygin gas and secondly of the viscous generalized Chaplygin gas. The dynamics of the model are expressed by the use of scalar fields and the scalar potentials.

Wormholes supported by phantom-like modified Chaplygin gas

We have examined the possible construction of a stationary, spherically symmetric and spatially inhomogeneous wormhole spacetime supported by the phantom energy. The later is supposed to be represented by the modified Chaplygin gas equation of state. The solutions so obtained satisfy the flare out and the asymptotic flatness conditions. It is also shown that the averaged null energy condition has to be violated for the existence of the wormhole.
