Weak field limit for embedding gravity

We study a perturbation theory for embedding gravity equations in a background for which corrections to the embedding function are linear with respect to corrections to the flat metric. The arbitrariness remaining after solving the linearized field equations is fixed by an assumption that the solution is static in the second order. A nonlinear differential equation is obtained, which makes it possible to find the gravitational potential for a spherically symmetric case if a background embedding is given. An explicit form of a spherically symmetric background parameterized by one function of radius is proposed. It is shown that this function can be chosen in such a way that the gravitational potential is in a good agreement with the observed distribution of dark matter in a galactic halo.

A New Class of Solvable Two-dimensional Scalar Potentials for Graphene

In the present paper, a systematic approach is presented for solution of two-dimensional massless Dirac equation with external electrostatic potential applied. This approach is based on the new - asymmetric - form of SUSY-like intertwining relations. It allows to build a wide variety of pairs of SUSY-partner external scalar potentials. If one of them is simple enough to be solvable, its partner is also solvable although it may have a non-trivial dependency on both coordinates. Physically, this kind of problems is related to the description of graphene and some other materials with external potential. Solvability obtained by means of asymmetric form of SUSY intertwining relations allows to extend the class of analytically solvable two-dimensional models.

A Perturbation Algorithm for the Pointers of Franke-Gorini-Kossakowski-Lindblad-Sudarshan Equation

This paper is devoted to the study of behavior of open quantum systems consistently based on the Franke-Gorini-Kossakowski-Lindblad-Sudarshan (FGKLS) equation which covers evolution in situations when decoherence can be distinguished. We focus on the quantum measurement operation which is determined by final stationary states of an open system - so called pointers. We find pointers by applying the FGKLS equation to asymptotically constant density matrix. In seeking pointers, we have been able to propose a perturbative scheme of calculation, if we take the interaction components with an environment to be weak. Thus, the Lindblad operators can be used in some way as expansion parameters for perturbation theory. The scheme we propose is different for the cases of non-degenerate and degenerate Hamiltonian. We illustrate our scheme by particular examples of quantum harmonic oscillator with spin in external magnetic field. The efficiency of the perturbation algorithm is demonstrated by its comparison with the exact solution.

Generalization of SUSY Intertwining Relations: New Exact Solutions of Fokker-Planck Equation

It is commonly known that the Fokker-Planck equation is exactly solvable only for some particular systems, usually with time-independent drift coefficients. To extend the class of solvable problems, we use the intertwining relations of SUSY Quantum Mechanics but in new - asymmetric - form. It turns out that this form is just useful for solution of Fokker-Planck equation. As usual, intertwining provides a partnership between two different systems both described by Fokker-Planck equation. Due to the use of an asymmetric kind of intertwining relations with a suitable ansatz, we managed to obtain a new class of analytically solvable models. What is important, this approach allows us to deal with the drift coefficients depending on both variables, $x,$ and $t.$ An illustrating example of the proposed construction is given explicitly.

Polyakov-like approach to the modified gravity and other geometric theories

We study the procedure that allows to rewrite the actions of some modified gravity theories like mimetic gravity and Regge-Teitelboim embedding theory as Einstein-Hilbert actions with additional matter contributions. It turns out that this procedure can be applied to brane action, which lead to a polynomial brane action. We also examine the connection between this procedure and Polyakov trick in string theory.

Explicit isometric embeddings of collapsing dust ball

The work is devoted to the search for explicit isometric embeddings of a metric corresponding to the collapse of spherically symmetric matter with the formation of a black hole. Two approaches are considered: in the first, the embedding is constructed for the whole manifold at once; in the second, the idea of a junction of solutions, obtained separately for areas inside and outside the dust ball, is used. In the framework of the first approach, a global smooth embedding in 7D space with a signature (2 + 5) was constructed. It corresponds to the formation of the horizon as a result of matter falling from infinity. The second approach generally leads to an embedding in 7D space with the signature (1 + 6). This embedding corresponds to the case when matter flies out of a white hole with the disappearance of its horizon, after which the radius of the dust ball reaches its maximum, and then a collapse occurs with the formation of the horizon of a black hole. The embedding obtained is not smooth everywhere --- it contains a kink on the edge of the dust ball, and {also, it is} not quite global. In the particular case, when the maximum radius of the dust ball coincides with the radius of the horizon, it is possible to construct a global smooth embedding in a flat 6D space with a signature (1 + 5).

Supersymmetrization of the Franke-Gorini-Kossakowski-Lindblad-Sudarshan equation

We investigate departures from the Hamiltonian dynamics such as the quantum decoherence in a supersymmetric quantum system due to its interaction with the environment. The effective description is given by the Franke-Gorini-Kossakowski-Lindblad-Sudarshan (FGKLS) equation. The prescription for supersymmetrization of this equation is elaborated and pairs of related isospectral quantum systems are built. We present some instructive examples of such a construction.

New solutions for graphene with scalar potentials by means of generalized intertwining

The intertwining relations between superpartner Hamiltonians are the main ingredients of well known Supersymmetrical Quantum Mechanics (SUSY QM). In the present paper, the generalized form of intertwining is used for investigation of a massless (zero energy) two-dimensional Dirac equation with scalar external potential. This equation is related to the description of graphene and some other materials in the field of external electrostatic potential. The use of modified intertwining relations allows to find analytically solutions for the wave functions in the field of some external scalar potentials which depend on both space coordinates. A few examples of this construction are given explicitly.

Zero Energy States for a Class of Two-Dimensional Potentials in Graphene

The excitations in graphene and some other materials are described by two-dimensional massless Dirac equation with applied external potential of some kind. Solutions of this zero energy equation are built analytically for a wide class of scalar potentials. In contrast to most publications on analytical solutions of massless two-dimensional Dirac equation, our potentials really depend on both spatial coordinates in some bounded domain. Several examples of such construction are given explicitly.

Complete set of essential parameters of an effective theory

The present paper continues the series [V. V. Vereshagin, True self-energy function and reducibility in effective scalar theories, Phys. Rev. D 89, 125022 (2014); A. Vereshagin and V. Vereshagin, Resultant parameters of effective theory, Phys. Rev. D 69, 025002 (2004); K. Semenov-Tian-Shansky, A. Vereshagin, and V. Vereshagin, S-matrix renormalization in effective theories, Phys. Rev. D 73, 025020 (2006)] devoted to the systematic study of effective scattering theories. We consider matrix elements of the effective Lagrangian monomials (in the interaction picture) of arbitrary high dimension D and show that the full set of corresponding coupling constants contains parameters of both kinds: essential and redundant. Since it would be pointless to formulate renormalization prescriptions for redundant parameters, it is necessary to select the full set of the essential ones. This is done in the present paper for the case of the single scalar field.

Mapping of Two-Dimensional Schrödinger Equation under the Point Transformation

For the two-dimensional Schrödinger equation, the general form of the point transformations such that the result can be interpreted as a Schrödinger equation with effective (i.e. position dependent) mass is studied. A wide class of such models with different forms of mass function is obtained in this way. Starting from the solvable two-dimensional model, the variety of solvable partner models with effective mass can be built. Several illustrating examples not amenable to the conventional separation of variables are given.

SUSY Method for the Three-Dimensional Schrödinger Equation with Effective Mass

The three-dimensional Schrödinger equation with a position-dependent (effective) mass is studied in the framework of Supersymmetrical (SUSY) Quantum Mechanics. The general solution of SUSY intertwining relations with first order supercharges is obtained without any preliminary constraints. Several forms of coefficient functions of the supercharges are investigated and analytical expressions for the mass function and partner potentials are found. As usual for SUSY Quantum Mechanics with nonsingular superpotentials, the spectra of intertwined Hamiltonians coincide up to zero modes of supercharges, and the corresponding wave functions are connected by intertwining relations. All models are partially integrable by construction: each of them has at least one second order symmetry operator.

Solution of Second Order Supersymmetrical Intertwining Relations in Minkowski Plane

Supersymmetrical (SUSY) intertwining relations are generalized to the case of quantum Hamiltonians in Minkowski space. For intertwining operators (supercharges) of second order in derivatives the intertwined Hamiltonians correspond to completely integrable systems with the symmetry operators of fourth order in momenta. In terms of components, the itertwining relations correspond to the system of nonlinear differential equations which are solvable with the simplest - constant - ansatzes for the "metric" matrix in second order part of the supercharges. The corresponding potentials are built explicitly both for diagonalizable and nondiagonalizable form of "metric" matrices, and their properties are discussed.

Some Properties of the Shape Invariant Two-Dimensional Scarf II Model

Two-dimensional Scarf~II quantum model is considered in the framework of Supersymmetrical Quantum Mechanics (SUSY QM). Previously obtained results for this integrable system are systematized, and some new properties are derived. In particular, it is shown that the model is exactly or quasi-exactly solvable in different regions of parameter of the system. The degeneracy of the spectrum is detected for some specific values of parameters. The action of the symmetry operators of fourth order in momenta is calculated for the arbitrary wave functions, obtained by means of double shape invariance.

New Implicitly Solvable Potential Produced by Second Order Shape Invariance

The procedure proposed recently by J.Bougie, A.Gangopadhyaya and J.V.Mallow to study the general form of shape invariant potentials in one-dimensional Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics (SUSY QM) is generalized to the case of Higher Order SUSY QM with supercharges of second order in momentum. A new shape invariant potential is constructed by this method. It is singular at the origin, it grows at infinity, and its spectrum depends on the choice of connection conditions in the singular point. The corresponding Schrödinger equation is solved explicitly: the wave functions are constructed analytically, and the energy spectrum is defined implicitly via the transcendental equation which involves Confluent Hypergeometric functions.

Three-Dimensional Shape Invariant Non-Separable Model With Equidistant Spectrum

A class of three-dimensional models which satisfy supersymmetric intertwining relations with the simplest - oscillator-like - variant of shape invariance is constructed. It is proved that the models are not amenable to conventional separation of variables for the complex potentials, but their spectra are real and equidistant (like for isotropic harmonic oscillator). The special case of such potential with quadratic interaction is solved completely. The Hamiltonian of the system is non-diagonalizable, and its wave functions and associated functions are built analytically. The symmetry properties of the model and degeneracy of energy levels are studied.

The full classification of ladder-reducible and irreducible chains of SUSY algebras in one-dimensional QM is given. Emergence of hidden symmetries and spectrum generating algebras is elucidated in the context of Nonlinear SUSY in one- and two-dimensional QM.

General Solution of the Two-Dimensional Intertwining Relations for Supercharges with Hyperbolic (Lorentz) Metrics

The supersymmetrical intertwining relations are the most productive part of the supersymmetrical method in two-dimensional Quantum Mechanics. Most interesting are relations with hyperbolic form of derivatives in supercharges. So far, several explicit solutions were found, and they provide nontrivial two-dimensional potentials which were further studied by means of supersymmetrical methods. In the present paper the general solution of intertwining relations with hyperbolic structure of supercharges is obtained. The corresponding potentials are built explicitly, and it is evident that some of them were not known before now.
