No-regret and low-regret controls of space-time fractional parabolic Sturm-Liouville equations in a star graph

We are concerned with a space-time fractional parabolic initial-boundary value problem of Sturm Liouville type in a general star graph with mixed Dirichlet and Neumann boundary controls. We first give several existence, uniqueness and regularity results of weak and very-weak solutions. Using the notion of no-regret control introduced by Lions, we prove the existence, uniqueness, and characterize the low regret control of a quadratic boundary optimal control problem, then we prove that this low regret control converges to the no-regret control and we provide the associated optimality systems and conditions that characterize that no-regret control.

Optimal control problems of parabolic fractional sturm liouville equations in a star graph

In the present paper we deal with parabolic fractional initial-boundary value problems of Sturm Liouville type in an interval and in a general star graph. We first give several existence, uniqueness and regularity results of weak and very-weak solutions. We prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions to a quadratic boundary optimal control problem and provide a characterization of the optimal contol via the Euler Lagrange first order optimality conditions. We then investigate the analogous problems for a fractional Sturm Liouville problem in a general star graph with mixed Dirichlet and Neumann boundary controls. The existence and uniqueness of minimizers, and the characterization of the first order optimality conditions are obtained in a general star graph by using the method of Lagrange multipliers.

Fractional powers of sectorial operators via the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator

In the very influential paper \cite{CS07} Caffarelli and Silvestre studied regularity of $(-Δ)^s$, $0<s<1$, by identifying fractional powers with a certain Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator. Stinga and Torrea \cite{ST10} and Galé, Miana and Stinga \cite{GMS13} gave several more abstract versions of this extension procedure. The purpose of this paper is to study precise regularity properties of the Dirichlet and the Neumann problem in Hilbert spaces. Then the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator becomes an isomorphism between interpolation spaces and its part in the underlying Hilbert space is exactly the fractional power.
