World personal income distribution evolution measured by purchasing power parity exchange rates

The evolution of global income distribution from 1988 to 2018 is analyzed using purchasing power parity exchange rates and well-established statistical distributions. This research proposes the use of two separate distributions to more accurately represent the overall data, rather than relying on a single distribution. The global income distribution was fitted to log-normal and gamma functions, which are standard tools in econophysics. Despite limitations in data completeness during the early years, the available information covered the vast majority of the world's population. Probability density function (PDF) curves enabled the identification of key peaks in the distribution, while complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF) curves highlighted general trends in inequality. Initially, the global income distribution exhibited a bimodal pattern; however, the growth of middle classes in highly populated countries such as China and India has driven the transition to a unimodal distribution in recent years. While single-function fits with gamma or log-normal distributions provided reasonable accuracy, the bimodal approach constructed as a sum of log-normal distributions yielded near-perfect fits.

Move-by-move dynamics of the advantage in chess matches reveals population-level learning of the game

The complexity of chess matches has attracted broad interest since its invention. This complexity and the availability of large number of recorded matches make chess an ideal model systems for the study of population-level learning of a complex system. We systematically investigate the move-by-move dynamics of the white player's advantage from over seventy thousand high level chess matches spanning over 150 years. We find that the average advantage of the white player is positive and that it has been increasing over time. Currently, the average advantage of the white player is ~0.17 pawns but it is exponentially approaching a value of 0.23 pawns with a characteristic time scale of 67 years. We also study the diffusion of the move dependence of the white player's advantage and find that it is non-Gaussian, has long-ranged anti-correlations and that after an initial period with no diffusion it becomes super-diffusive. We find that the duration of the non-diffusive period, corresponding to the opening stage of a match, is increasing in length and exponentially approaching a value of 15.6 moves with a characteristic time scale of 130 years. We interpret these two trends as a resulting from learning of the features of the game. Additionally, we find that the exponent α characterizing the super-diffusive regime is increasing toward a value of 1.9, close to the ballistic regime. We suggest that this trend is due to the increased broadening of the range of abilities of chess players participating in major tournaments.

Induced cultural globalization by an external vector field in an enhanced Axelrod model

A new model is proposed, in the context of Axelrod's model for the study of cultural dissemination, to include and external vector field (VF) which describes the effects of mass media on social systems. The VF acts over the whole system and it is characterized by two parameters: a non-null overlap with each agent in the society and a confidence value of its information. Beyond a threshold value of the confidence there is induced monocultural globalization of the system lined up with the VF. Below this value, the multicultural states are unstable and certain homogenization of the system is obtained in opposite line up according to that we have called {\it negative publicity} effect. Three regimes of behavior for the spread process of the VF information as a function of time are reported.

Gravitational Stability for a Vacuum Cosmic Space Crystalline Model

Using Heisenberg's uncertainty principle it is shown that the gravitational stability condition for a crystalline vacuum cosmic space implies to obtain an equation formally equivalent to the relation first used by Gamow to predict the present temperature of the microwave background from the matter density. The compatibility condition between the quantum and the relativistic approaches has been obtained without infinities arising from the quantum analysis or singularities arising from the relativistic theory. The action which leads to our theory is the least action possible in a quantum scheme. The energy fluctuation involved in the gravitational stabilization of vacuum space is 10 to the power of (-40) times the energy of the crystalline structure of vacuum space inside the present Universe volume.

The Cosmological Constant for the Crystalline Vacuum Cosmic Space Model

The value of the cosmological constant arising from a crystalline model for vacuum cosmic space with lattice parameter of the order of the neutron radius [1] has been calculated. The model allows to solve, in an easy way, the problem of the cosmological constant giving the right order of magnitude, which corresponds very well with the mean value of matter density in the universe. The obtained value is about 10 to the power of (-48) square Km. Diffraction experiments with non-thermal neutron beam in cosmic space are proposed to search for the possibility of crystalline structure of vacuum space and to measure the lattice parameter.
