Meromorphic Lax representations of (1+1)-dimensional multi-Hamiltonian dispersionless systems

Rational Lax hierarchies introduced by Krichever are generalized. A systematic construction of infinite multi-Hamiltonian hierarchies and related conserved quantities is presented. The method is based on the classical R-matrix approach applied to Poisson algebras. A proof, that Poisson operators constructed near different points of Laurent expansion of Lax functions are equal, is given. All results are illustrated by several examples.

Geometric reduction of Hamiltonian systems

Given a foliation S of a manifold M, a distribution Z in M transveral to S and a Poisson bivector Πon M we present a geometric method of reducing this operator on the foliation S along the distribution Z. It encompasses the classical ideas of Dirac (Dirac reduction) and more modern theory of J. Marsden and T. Ratiu, but our method leads to formulas that allow for an explicit calculation of the reduced Poisson bracket. Moreover, we analyse the reduction of Hamiltonian systems corresponding to the bivector Π.

Presymplectic representation of bi-Hamiltonian chain

Liouville integrable systems, which have bi-Hamiltonian representation of the Gel'fand-Zakharevich type, are considered. Bi-presymplectic representation of one-Casimir bi-Hamiltonian chains and weakly bi-presymplectic representation of multi-Casimir bi-Hamiltonian chains are constructed. The reduction procedure for Poisson and presymplectic structures is presented.

Separable bi-Hamiltonian systems with quadratic in momenta first integrals

Geometric separability theory of Gel'fand-Zakharevich bi-Hamiltonian systems on Riemannian manifolds is reviewed and developed. Particular attention is paid to the separability of systems generated by the so-called special conformal Killing tensors, i.e. Benenti systems. Then, infinitely many new classes of separable systems are constructed by appropriate deformations of Benenti class systems. All such systems can be lifted to the Gel'fand-Zakharevich bi-Hamiltonian form.

Dirac reduction of dual Poisson-presymplectic pairs

A new notion of a dual Poisson-presymplectic pair is introduced and its properties are examined. The procedure of Dirac reduction of Poisson operators onto submanifolds proposed by Dirac is in this paper embedded in a geometric procedure of reduction of dual Poisson-presymplectic pairs. The method presented generalizes those used by Marsden and Ratiu for reductions of Poisson manifolds. Two examples are given.

Dirac reduction revisited

The procedure of Dirac reduction of Poisson operators on submanifolds is discussed within a particularly useful special realization of the general Marsden-Ratiu reduction procedure. The Dirac classification of constraints on 'first-class' constraints and 'second-class' constraints is reexamined.

Separability preserving Dirac reductions of Poisson pencils on Riemannian manifolds

Dirac deformation of Poisson operators of arbitrary rank is considered. The question when Dirac reduction does not destroy linear Poisson pencils is studied. A class of separability preserving Dirac reductions in the corresponding quasi-bi-Hamiltonian systems of Benenti type is discussed. Two examples of such reductions are given.

Classical R-matrix theory of dispersionless systems: II. (2+1)-dimension theory

A systematic way of construction of (2+1)-dimensional dispersionless integrable Hamiltonian systems is presented. The method is based on the so-called central extension procedure and classical R-matrix applied to the Poisson algebras of formal Laurent series. Results are illustrated with the known and new (2+1)-dimensional dispersionless systems.

Separable Hamiltonian equations on Riemann manifolds and related integrable hydrodynamic systems

A systematic construction of Stäckel systems in separated coordinates and its relation to bi-Hamiltonian formalism are considered. A general form of related hydrodynamic systems, integrable by the Hamilton-Jacobi method, is derived. One Casimir bi-Hamiltonian case is studed in details and in this case, a systematic construction of related hydrodynamic systems in arbitrary coordinates is presented, using a cofactor method and soliton symmetry constraints.

Separation of variables in quasi-potential systems of bi-cofactor form

We perform variable separation in the quasi-potential systems of equations of the form $\ddot{q}=-A^{-1}\nabla k=-\tilde{A}^{-1}\nabla\tilde{k}${}, where $A$ and $\tilde{A}$ are Killing tensors, by embedding these systems into a bi-Hamiltonian chain and by calculating the corresponding Darboux-Nijenhuis coordinates on the symplectic leaves of one of the Hamiltonian structures of the system. We also present examples of the corresponding separation coordinates in two and three dimensions.

Degenerate Poisson pencils on curves: new separability theory

A review of a new separability theory based on degenerated Poisson pencils and the so-called separation curves is presented. This theory can be considered as an alternative to the Sklyanin theory based on Lax representations and the so-called spectral curves.
