Harish-Chandra images of orthosymplectic Sugawara operators and Casimir elements

We consider the recently constructed Segal--Sugawara vectors for the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras. We calculate their images with respect to the Harish-Chandra homomorphism and extend this calculation to the associated Sugawara operators and Casimir elements. We also produce higher Gaudin Hamiltonians and elements of the quantum shift-of-argument subalgebras in the orthosymplectic enveloping algebra. In the Appendix, we review analogous results for the general linear Lie superalgebras.

Segal-Sugawara vectors for orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras

We consider the centre of the affine vertex algebra at the critical level associated with the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra. It is well-known that the centre is a commutative superalgebra, and we construct a family of its elements in an explicit form. In particular, this gives a new proof of the formulas for the central elements for the orthogonal and symplectic Lie algebras. Our arguments rely on the properties of a new extended Brauer-type algebra.

Presentations for the ghost algebra and the label algebra

The ghost algebra is a two-boundary extension of the Temperley-Lieb algebra, constructed recently via a diagrammatic presentation. The existing two-boundary Temperley-Lieb algebra has a basis of two-boundary string diagrams, where the number of strings connected to each boundary must be even. The ghost algebra is similar, but allows this number to be odd, using bookkeeping dots called ghosts to assign a consistent parity to each string endpoint on each boundary. Equivalently, one can discard the ghosts and label each string endpoint with its parity; the resulting algebra is readily generalised to allow any number of possible labels, instead of just odd or even. We call the generalisation the label algebra, and establish a non-diagrammatic presentation for it. A similar presentation for the ghost algebra follows from this.

The ghost algebra and the dilute ghost algebra

We introduce the ghost algebra, a two-boundary generalisation of the Temperley-Lieb (TL) algebra, using a diagrammatic presentation. The existing two-boundary TL algebra has a basis of string diagrams with two boundaries, and the number of strings connected to each boundary must be even; in the ghost algebra, this number may be odd. To preserve associativity while allowing boundary-to-boundary strings to have distinct parameters according to the parity of their endpoints, as seen in the one-boundary TL algebra, we decorate the boundaries with bookkeeping dots called ghosts. We also introduce the dilute ghost algebra, an analogous two-boundary generalisation of the dilute TL algebra. We then present loop models associated with these algebras, and classify solutions to their boundary Yang-Baxter equations, given existing solutions to the Yang-Baxter equations for the TL and dilute TL models. This facilitates the construction of a one-parameter family of commuting transfer tangles, making these models Yang-Baxter integrable.
