Reduction of Multiple Orthogonal Polynomials to Standard Orthogonal Polynomials

In this article, we derive explicit formulae expressing multiple orthogonal polynomials in terms of standard orthogonal polynomials. We treat both the real-line and unit-circle settings: multiple orthogonal polynomials on the real line (MOPRL) are reduced to orthogonal polynomials on the real line (OPRL), while multiple orthogonal polynomials on the unit circle (MOPUC) are reduced to orthogonal polynomials on the unit circle (OPUC). These formulae also yield corresponding reductions of the Christoffel--Darboux kernels, from the MOPRL kernel to the OPRL kernel and from the MOPUC kernel to the OPUC kernel. In particular, they recover Zinn-Justin's kernel for the external-source random matrix model [arXiv:cond-mat/9703033] and Baik's kernel reduction formula in the spiked source model [arXiv:0809.3970]. We also apply our general results to concrete examples: in the real-line setting, we obtain an explicit expression for the multiple Hermite Christoffel--Darboux kernel in terms of classical Hermite polynomials, while in the unit-circle setting, we use arc-indicator weights to exhibit resonance-type zero escape phenomena for type II MOPUC.

Rigidity in the Planar Ulam Floating Body Problem with perimetral density $σ=\tfrac16$

We study the two-dimensional Ulam's floating body problem for convex domains with perimetral density $σ=\tfrac16$. Using the framework of Zindler carousels, we reduce the problem to a two-dimensional dynamical system associated with an inscribed equilateral hexagon. Our main result shows that the disk is the only convex domain floating in equilibrium in every position for this perimetral density. This provides a new rigidity result for rational perimetral densities in the convex setting.

A Two-HCIZ Gaussian Matrix Model for Non-intersecting Brownian Bridges

We construct a unitarily invariant Hermitian matrix ensemble whose fixed-time eigenvalue law coincides with the Karlin--McGregor law for non-intersecting Brownian bridges with arbitrary finite multiplicities at both endpoints. This provides an explicit matrix-ensemble realization of the known mixed-type multiple orthogonal polynomial and Riemann--Hilbert description of the general multi-start/multi-end problem. We then derive several exact finite-$n$ consequences of this construction. These include a path-space lift as an orbital Hermitian Brownian bridge and a reduction of the partition function to a single compact HCIZ integral with explicit $t$-dependence. We also compare the one-sided reduction with the Gaussian external-field ensemble, showing that, although the two ensembles are spectrally equivalent, their angular statistics are different. Finally, we derive fixed-time Schwinger--Dyson identities and associated resolvent relations for the dressed ensemble.

Connection formulae for the radial Toda equations I

This paper is the first in a forthcoming series of works where the authors study the global asymptotic behavior of the radial solutions of the 2D periodic Toda equation of type $A_n$. The principal issue is the connection formulae between the asymptotic parameters describing the behavior of the general solution at zero and infinity. To reach this goal we are using a fusion of the PDE analysis and the Riemann-Hilbert nonlinear steepest descent method of Deift and Zhou which is applicable to 2D Toda in view of its Lax integrability. A principal technical challenge is the extension of the nonlinear steepest descent analysis to Riemann-Hilbert problems of matrix rank greater than $2$. In this paper, we meet this challenge for the case $n=2$ (the rank $3$ case) and it already captures the principal features of the general $n$ case.

Connection formulae for the radial Toda equations II

This is a continuation of [arXiv:2309.16550] in which we computed the asymptotics near $x = \infty$ of all solutions of the radial Toda equation. In this article, we compute the asymptotics near $x = \infty$ of all solutions of a "partner" equation. The equations are related in the sense that their respective monodromy data constitute connected components of the same "monodromy manifold". While all solutions of the radial Toda equation are smooth, those of the partner equation have infinitely many singularities, and this makes the Riemann-Hilbert nonlinear steepest descent method (and the asymptotics of solutions) more involved.

New Combinatorial Formulae for Nested Bethe Vectors

We give new combinatorial formulae for vector-valued weight functions (off-shell nested Bethe vectors) for the evaluation modules over the Yangian $Y(\mathfrak{gl}_4)$. The case of $Y(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ for an arbitrary $n$ is considered in [Lett. Math. Phys. 115 (2025), 12, 20 pages, arXiv:2402.15717].
