A discrete series gauge field at the late-time boundary of $dS_4$

We study the free Maxwell field on the planar patch of four-dimensional de Sitter spacetime ($dS_4$). We review its bulk canonical quantization in the Bunch-Davies vacuum, and we give a representation-theoretic viewpoint by studying the transformation properties of single-particle states under infinitesimal dS transformations. By taking the late-time limit, we identify two late-time operators with scaling dimensions $Δ=1$ (leading) and $Δ=2$ (subleading). We introduce CFT-inspired inner products invariant under the dS group ($SO(4,1)$) for states created by late-time operators acting on the Bunch-Davies vacuum. We explain how the unitary discrete series representations of $SO(4,1)$ associated with the photon are furnished by both operators, in contrast with the Maxwell field on $AdS$ where the $Δ=1$ operator corresponds to a non-normalizable mode. We also explain how the corresponding discrete series representations of $SO(4,1)$ split into a direct sum of representations corresponding to two helicities $+1$ and $-1$. This is achieved by taking advantage of the dS invariance of the self-dual and anti-self-dual sectors of the photon field strength. In our outlook, we draw inspiration from a recent proposal for the microscopic description of $dS_4$ higher-spin gravity where conformal gauge fields in 3 dimensions play a central role, and we investigate a possible connection of the $Δ=1$ late-time operator with a conformal spin-1 gauge field in 3 dimensions.

Induced energy-momentum tensor of the scalar field in 3D de Sitter QED

In this work, we derive the renormalized expectation value of the energy--momentum tensor of a quantized charged scalar field in three-dimensional de Sitter spacetime $\mathrm{dS}_{3}$ in the presence of a uniform electric field. Using the adiabatic regularization method, ultraviolet divergences are systematically removed, yielding finite expressions for all components of the induced tensor. We analyze the behavior of the renormalized energy--momentum tensor in both the strong-field and infrared regimes. In the strong-field limit, the induced energy density exhibits a quadratic dependence on the electric field strength; however, this leading contribution is dominated by vacuum polarization effects rather than directly by the Bogoliubov particle-production component. In the infrared regime, the tensor shows a pronounced inverse-mass dependence, indicating strong infrared sensitivity characteristic of light scalar fields in de Sitter spacetime. In the conformally coupled massless limit, the renormalized trace vanishes, as expected from the absence of a genuine Weyl anomaly in odd-dimensional spacetimes. These results provide a precise characterization of vacuum polarization and infrared effects in three-dimensional de Sitter scalar QED.

Klein--Gordon and Dirac Oscillators with an Apparent Mass Induced by the Momentum-Space Dual of the Fock--Lorentz Transformations

We propose a controlled momentum-space dual of the Fock--Lorentz (FL) transformations and use it to derive a deformed relativistic mass shell. Restricting the FL conformal factor to the cosmological-frame world line $\vx=0$, the invariant relation takes the form $(E^{2}-\vp^{2}c^{2})(1+ct/R)^{2}=m_{0}^{2}c^{4}$, which is equivalent to the standard special-relativistic dispersion law with a time-dependent apparent mass $\mapp(t)=m_{0}/(1+ct/R)$. Canonical quantization then yields Klein--Gordon (KG) and Dirac equations containing a slowly varying mass scale. We show explicitly that squaring the Dirac equation reproduces the KG operator, modulo first-order corrections proportional to $\dot\mapp$ that are suppressed by the ratio of the Compton wavelength to the FL scale. The construction is not presented as a unique covariant phase-space theory; rather, it is a world-line ansatz designed to isolate the spectral consequences of the FL conformal factor. As applications, we study the one-dimensional KG and Dirac oscillators. In the adiabatic regime, governed by the small parameter $ε=c/(Rω)\ll1$, closed-form instantaneous spectra are obtained. The Dirac-oscillator calculation is carried out in component form and then reduced to the physical spinor spectrum, thereby avoiding the double counting of the upper and lower component ladders. Dimensionless plots illustrate the apparent-mass drift, the induced spectral evolution, and the domain of adiabatic validity. For cosmological values of $R$, non-adiabatic corrections are entirely negligible; in the formal limit $t\to\infty$ the apparent mass tends to zero and, for fixed quantum number, the instantaneous levels collapse toward $E=0$.

Ladder operators of the de Sitter algebra

We identify raising and lowering operators of the de Sitter algebra with focus on their action on states in particular in 4 spacetime dimensions. There isn't a unique solution to the question of how the de Sitter ladder operators act on states. By fixing the action of certain generators one can conclude on the action of the rest. Our main aim is to be able to identify highest and lowest weight states such that we can recognize them for quantized fields on a rigid de Sitter background.

Induced energy-momentum tensor of Dirac field in 2D de Sitter QED

We compute the expectation value of the energy-momentum tensor in the in-vacuum state of the quantized Dirac field coupled to a uniform electric field background on the Poincar$\rm\acute{e}$ path of the two dimensional de~Sitter spacetime ($\mathrm{dS}_{2}$). The adiabatic regularization scheme is applied to remove the ultraviolet divergencies from the expressions. We find, the off-diagonal components of the induced energy-momentum tensor vanishes and the absolute values of the diagonal components are increasing functions of the electric field which decrease as the Dirac field mass increases. We derive the trace anomaly of the induced energy-momentum tensor, which agrees precisely with the trace anomaly derived earlier in the literature. We have discusses the backreaction of the induced energy-momentum tensor on the gravitational field.
