Heavy quarkonium spectral function in the spinning black hole background

In this paper, we study the dissociation of heavy quarkonium in the spinning black hole background. Specifically, we analyze the spectral function of charmonium and bottomonium in the spinning black hole background and examine how the angular momentum affects the dissociation of $J/\Psi$ and $\Upsilon(1S)$. From the results, we find that the angular momentum and temperature decreases the peak height and expands the peak width of the spectral function, thereby enhancing the dissociation of heavy vector mesons. Moreover, the angular momentum has a stronger dissociation effect in the transverse orientation, revealing the directional influence of angular momentum.

$R^2$ corrections to holographic heavy meson dissociation

In this paper, we investigate the $R^2$ corrections to the dissociation of heavy quarkonium in the Gauss-Bonnet gravitational background. We analyze the impact of Gauss-Bonnet parameter $\lambda_{GB}$ on the spectral function of charmonium and bottomonium, and examine how $\lambda_{GB}$ affects the dissociation of heavy quarkonium. Our results show that $\lambda_{GB}$ reduces the peak height and increases the peak width of the spectral function, suggesting that $\lambda_{GB}$ enhances the dissociation of heavy quarkonium. We also discuss how the dissociation of heavy quarkonium varies with the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density and find the dissociation will be easier in more perfect plasma. Additionally, we observe that the temperature decreases the peak height and widens the peak, thereby accelerating the dissociation.

Self-consistent Effective-one-body theory for spinless binaries based on post-Minkowskian approximation I: Hamiltonian and decoupled equation for $\psi^B_{4}$

To build a self-consistent effective-one-body (EOB) theory, in which the Hamiltonian, radiation-reaction force and waveform for the "plus" and "cross" modes of the gravitational wave should be based on the same effective background spacetime, the key step is to look for the decoupled equation for $\psi^B_{4}=\ddot{h}_{+}-i\ddot{h}_{\times}$, which seems a very difficult task because there are non-vanishing tetrad components of the tracefree Ricci tensor for such spacetime. Fortunately, based on an effective spacetime obtained in this paper by using the post-Minkowskian (PM) approximation, we find the decoupled equation for $\psi^B_{4}$ by dividing the perturbation part of the metric into the odd and even parities. With the effective metric and decoupled equation at hand, we set up a frame of self-consistent EOB model for spinless binaries.

Backreacting holographic superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor

We investigate the properties of the backreacting holographic superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor in the background of a d-dimensional AdS black hole. Imposing the Dirichlet boundary condition of the trial function without the Neumann boundary conditions, we improve the analytical Sturm-Liouville method with an iterative procedure to explore the pure effect of the Einstein tensor on the holographic superconductors and find that the Einstein tensor hinders the condensate of the scalar field but does not affect the critical phenomena. Our analytical findings are in very good agreement with the numerical results from the "marginally stable modes" method, which implies that the Sturm-Liouville method is still powerful to study the holographic superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor even if we consider the backreactions.

Generalized superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor and their refractive index in massive gravity

We construct the generalized superconductors from the coupling of a scalar field to the Einstein tensor in the massive gravity and investigate their negative refraction in the probe limit. We observe that the larger graviton mass and Einstein tensor coupling parameters both hinder the formation of the condensation, but the larger graviton mass or smaller coupling parameter makes it easier for the emergence of the Cave of Winds. Furthermore, we see that the larger graviton mass but smaller coupling parameter make the range of frequencies or the range of temperatures larger for which a negative Depine-Lakhtakia index occurs, which indicates that the graviton mass and Einstein tensor have completely different effects on the negative refraction. In addition, we find that the larger graviton mass and coupling parameters both can reduce the dissipation and improve the propagation in the holographic setup.
