Singular and fractional integral operators on weighted local Morrey spaces

We obtain a characterization of the weighted inequalities for the Riesz transforms on weighted local Morrey spaces. The condition is sufficient for the boundedness on the same spaces of all Calderón-Zygmund operators suitably defined on the functions of the space. In the case of the fractional maximal operator and the fractional integral we obtain a characterization valid for exponents satisfying the Sobolev relation. For power weights we get sharp results in a larger range of exponents for the usual versions of weighted Morrey spaces.

Muckenhoupt-type conditions on weighted Morrey spaces

We define a Muckenhoup-type condition on weighted Morrey spaces using the Köthe dual of the space. We show that the condition is necessary and sufficient for the boundedness of the maximal operator defined with balls centered at the origin on weighted Morrey spaces. A modified condition characterizes the weighted inequalities for the Calderón operator. We also show that the Muckenhoup-type condition is necessary and sufficient for the boundedness on weighted local Morrey spaces of the usual Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator, simplifying the previous characterization of Nakamura-Sawano-Tanaka. For the same operator, in the case of global Morrey spaces the condition is necessary and for the sufficiency we add a local $A_p$ condition. We can extrapolate from Lebesgue $A_p$-weighted inequalities to weighted global and local Morrey spaces in a very general setting, with applications to many operators.

Studies for New Experiments at the CERN M2 Beamline within "Physics Beyond Colliders": AMBER/COMPASS++, NA64mu, MuonE

The "Physics Beyond Colliders (PBC)" study explores fundamental physics opportunities at the CERN accelerator complex complementary to collider experiments. Three new collaborations aim to exploit the M2 beamline in the North Area with existing high-intensity muon and hadron beams, but also aspire to go beyond the current M2 capabilities with a RF-separated, high intensity hadron beam, under study. The AMBER/COMPASS++ collaboration proposes an ambitious program with a measurement of the proton radius with muon beams, as well as QCD-related studies from pion PDFs / Drell-Yan to cross section measurements for dark sector searches. Assuming feasibility of the RF-separated beam, the spectrum of strange mesons would enter a high precision era while kaon PDFs as well as nucleon TMDs would be accessible via Drell-Yan reactions. The NA64mu collaboration proposes to search for dark sector mediators such as a dark scalar A' or a hypothetical Z_mu using the M2 muon beam and complementing their on-going A' searches with electron beams. The MuonE collaboration intends to assess the hadronic component of the vacuum polarization via elastic mu-e scattering, the dominant uncertainty in the determination of (g-2)_mu. An overview of the three new experimental programs will be presented together with implications for the M2 beamline and the experimental area EHN2, based on the studies of the PBC "Conventional Beams" Working Group.

Boundedness properties in a family of weighted Morrey spaces with emphasis on power weights

We define a scale of weighted Morrey spaces which contains different weighted versions appearing in the literature. This allows us to obtain weighted estimates for operators in a unified way. In general, we obtain results for weights of the form $|x|^αw(x)$ with $w\in A_p$ and nonnegative $α$. We study particularly some properties of power-weighted spaces and in the case of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator our results for such spaces are sharp. By using extrapolation techniques the results are given in abstract form in such a way that they are automatically obtained for many operators.

Boundedness of operators on certain power-weighted Morrey spaces beyond the Muckenhoupt weights

We prove that for operators satistying weighted inequalities with $A_p$ weights the boundedness on a certain class of Morrey spaces holds with weights of the form $|x|^αw(x)$ for $w\in A_p$. In the case of power weights the shift with respect to the range of Muckenhoupt weights was observed by N.~Samko for the Hilbert transform, by H.~Tanaka for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator, and by S.~Nakamura and Y.~Sawano for Calderón-Zygmund operators and others. We extend the class of weights and establish the results in a very general setting, with applications to many operators. For weak type Morrey spaces, we obtain new estimates even for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator. Moreover, we prove the necessity of certain $A_q$ condition.

Extension and boundedness of operators on Morrey spaces from extrapolation techniques and embeddings

We prove that operators satisfying the hypotheses of the extrapolation theorem for Muckenhoupt weights are bounded on weighted Morrey spaces. As a consequence, we obtain at once a number of results that have been proved individually for many operators. On the other hand, our theorems provide a variety of new results even for the unweighted case because we do not use any representation formula or pointwise bound of the operator as was assumed by previous authors. To extend the operators to Morrey spaces we show different (continuous) embeddings of (weighted) Morrey spaces into appropriate Muckenhoupt $A_1$ weighted $L_p$ spaces, which enable us to define the operators on the considered Morrey spaces by restriction. In this way, we can avoid the delicate problem of the definition of the operator, often ignored by the authors. In dealing with the extension problem through the embeddings (instead of using duality) one is neither restricted in the parameter range of the $p$'s (in particular $p=1$ is admissible and applies to weak-type inequalities) nor the operator has to be linear. Another remarkable consequence of our results is that vector-valued inequalities in Morrey spaces are automatically deduced. On the other hand, we also obtain $A_\infty$-weighted inequalities with Morrey quasinorms.

The boundedness of operators in Muckenhoupt weighted Morrey spaces via extrapolation techniques and duality

The bidual of the closure of smooth functions with respect to the Morrey norm coincides with the Morrey space. This assertion is generalized to some Muckenhoupt weighted Morrey spaces. We combine this fact with basic extrapolation techniques due to Rubio de Francia adapted to weighted Morrey spaces. This leads to new results on the boundedness of operators even for the unweighted case.

Amplitude estimation of a sine function based on confidence intervals and Bayes' theorem

This paper discusses the amplitude estimation using data originating from a sine-like function as probability density function. If a simple least squares fit is used, a significant bias is observed for small amplitudes. It is shown that a proper treatment using the Feldman-Cousins algorithm of likelihood ratios allows one to construct improved confidence intervals. Using Bayes' theorem a probability density function is derived for the amplitude. It is used in an application to show that it leads to better estimates compared to a simple least squares fit.

On the boundedness of singular integrals in Morrey spaces and its preduals

We reduce the boundedness of operators in Morrey spaces $L_p^r({\mathbb R}^n)$, its preduals, $H^{\varrho}L_p ({\mathbb R}^n)$, and their preduals $\overset{\circ}{L}{}^r_p({\mathbb R}^n)$ to the boundedness of the appropriate operators in Lebesgue spaces, $L_p({\mathbb R}^n)$. Hereby, we need a weak condition with respect to the operators which is satisfied for a large set of classical operators of harmonic analysis including singular integral operators and the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function. The given vector-valued consideration of these issues is a key ingredient for various applications in harmonic analysis.
