Large time behavior of semilinear stochastic partial differential equations perturbed by a mixture of Brownian and fractional Brownian motions

We study the trajectorywise blowup behavior of a semilinear partial differential equation that is driven by a mixture of multiplicative Brownian and fractional Brownian motion, modeling different types of random perturbations. The linear operator is supposed to have an eigenfunction of constant sign, and we show its influence, as well as the influence of its eigenvalue and of the other parameters of the equation, on the occurrence of a blowup in finite time of the solution. We give estimates for the probability of finite time blowup and of blowup before a given fixed time. Essential tools are the mild and weak form of an associated random partial differential equation.

Linear Backward Stochastic Differential Equations with Gaussian Volterra processes

Explicit solutions for a class of linear backward stochastic differential equations (BSDE) driven by Gaussian Volterra processes are given. These processes include the multifractional brownian motion and the multifractional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. By an It\^o formula, proven in the context of Malliavin calculus, the BSDE is associated to a linear second order partial differential equation with terminal condition whose solution is given by a Feynman-Kac type formula. An application to self-financing trading strategies is discussed.

Global variational solutions to a class of fractional spde's on unbounded domains

In this article we prove new results regarding the existence and the uniqueness of global variational solutions to Neumann initial-boundary value problems for a class of non-autonomous stochastic parabolic partial differential equations. The equations we consider are defined on unbounded open domains in Euclidean space satisfying certain geometric conditions, and are driven by a multiplicative noise derived from an infinite-dimensional fractional Wiener process characterized by a sequence of Hurst parameters $\mathsf{H} = (\mathsf{H}_i)_{i\in \mathbb{N}^+} \subset (\frac{1}{2},1)$. These parameters are in fact subject to further constraints that are intimately tied up with the nature of the nonlinearity in the stochastic term of the equations, and with the choice of the functional spaces in which the problem at hand is well-posed. Our method of proof rests on compactness arguments in an essential way.

Asymptotic growth of trajectories of multifractional Brownian motion, with statistical applications to drift parameter estimation

We construct the least-square estimator for the unknown drift parameter in the multifractional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck model and establish its strong consistency in the non-ergodic case. The proofs are based on the asymptotic bounds with probability 1 for the rate of the growth of the trajectories of multifractional Brownian motion (mBm) and of some other functionals of mBm, including increments and fractional derivatives. As the auxiliary results having independent interest, we produce the asymptotic bounds with probability 1 for the rate of the growth of the trajectories of the general Gaussian process and some functionals of it, in terms of the covariance function of its increments.

Finite-time blowup and existence of global positive solutions of a semi-linear SPDE

We consider stochastic equations of the prototype $du(t,x) =(Δu(t,x)+u(t,x)^{1+β})dt+κu(t,x) dW_{t}$ on a smooth domain $D\subset \mathord{\rm I\mkern-3.6mu R\:}^d$, with Dirichlet boundary condition, where $β$, $κ$ are positive constants and $\{W_t $, $t\ge0\}$ is a one-dimensional standard Wiener process. We estimate the probability of finite time blowup of positive solutions, as well as the probability of existence of non-trivial positive global solutions.

Sample path properties of the local time of multifractional Brownian motion

We establish estimates for the local and uniform moduli of continuity of the local time of multifractional Brownian motion, $B^H=(B^{H(t)}(t),t\in\mathbb{R}^+)$. An analogue of Chung's law of the iterated logarithm is studied for $B^H$ and used to obtain the pointwise Hölder exponent of the local time. A kind of local asymptotic self-similarity is proved to be satisfied by the local time of $B^H$.
