Energy extraction from NED-deformed rotating black holes via the Comisso-Asenjo reconnection process

We study rotating black holes in general relativity coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics (NED), focusing on an axisymmetric solution with deformation parameter g. On the spherical seed, weak-field lensing via the Gauss-Bonnet method and the shadow radius yield a spin-insensitive bound by enforcing a conservative ~10% tolerance on the Sgr A* ring size, namely g/M \lesssim 1.26. In the eikonal regime we derive analytic quasinormal-mode shifts, even in g, and obtain an independent ceiling consistent with the shadow constraint. For the rotating geometry, we provide closed-form ZAMO scalars, chart horizons and ergoregion, and analyze equatorial geodesics (photon orbits and ISCO). We then formulate in the ZAMO frame the Comisso-Asenjo reconnection channel, identify the negative-energy window, and integrate the extracted power over the allowed radii; from the tolerated fractional departure from the Kerr power we define a spin-dependent extraction bound g_δ(a|σ_0,ξ). Taken together, the QNM/shadow ceiling and the extraction bound appreciably narrow the admissible region for g/M in the (a/M, g/M) plane, so even within our deliberately simplified, single-layer equatorial setup, the two complementary probes already provide informative constraints on NED deformations, testable with present data and upcoming horizon-scale and ringdown campaigns.

Thermodynamic Gravity with Non-Extensive Horizon Entropy and Topological Calibration

We revisit Jacobson's thermodynamic derivation of gravitational dynamics in the presence of generalized, non-extensive horizon entropies. Working within a local Rindler-wedge framework, we formulate the Clausius relation as the stationarity condition of a Massieu functional at fixed Unruh temperature, which identifies the entropy slope as the parameter controlling the effective gravitational coupling. For area-type entropies with constant slope, the construction reproduces Einstein's equations with $G_{eff} = 1/(4s_0)$, while curvature-dependent entropy densities supplemented by an internal entropy-production term yield the field equations of $f(R)$ gravity. Motivated by group-entropic considerations and long-range correlations, we model the entropy of horizon cross sections by a power law $S(A) = η(A/4G)^δ$ and analyze its local and global implications. To fix the otherwise arbitrary coarse-graining scale entering the entropy slope, we introduce a Topological Calibration Principle that ties the reference area to intrinsic geometric data through the Gauss-Bonnet theorem. For compact two-dimensional sections, this selects a canonical calibration area and leads to a topology-dependent effective coupling $G_{eff}(χ) \propto |χ|^{1-δ}$ where $χ$ represents the Euler characteristic. Consistency across scales and topologies yields logarithmic bounds on $|1-δ|$, while the associated scale dependence induces a characteristic modulation of the gravitational coupling in cosmology. The framework thus provides a controlled route to confront non-extensive horizon thermodynamics with both theoretical consistency requirements and observational constraints.

Gravitational Signatures of Axion Dark Matter via Parity-Violating Interactions

We investigate axion-like particles coupled to gravity through a parity-violating Chern-Simons (CS) interaction. In this framework, axion dark matter (DM) can decay into pairs of circularly polarized gravitons, producing a persistent, nearly monochromatic GW signal. We compute the expected signal at Earth assuming a Navarro-Frenk-White Galactic halo model with the corresponding velocity distribution, and compare it with the narrowband sensitivities of the LIGO O4 run and the projected reach of the Einstein Telescope. The resulting bounds on the axion-graviton coupling $α$ improve upon the cosmological stability requirement for axion masses $m_ϕ\lesssim 10^{-11}$ eV, excluding values up to four orders of magnitude below the stability limit. This constitutes a robust direct terrestrial constraint on the axion-gravity CS coupling. We also discuss distinctive observational signatures, such as circular polarization asymmetries, annual modulation, and potential enhancements from DM substructures, which could serve as smoking-gun evidence for parity-violating gravitational interactions.

The Seiberg-Witten map for non-commutative pure gravity and vacuum Maxwell theory

In this paper the Seiberg-Witten map is first analyzed for non-commutative Yang-Mills theories with the related methods, developed in the literature, for its explicit construction, that hold for any gauge group. These are exploited to write down the second-order Seiberg-Witten map for pure gravity with a constant non-commutativity tensor. In the analysis of pure gravity when the classical space-time solves the vacuum Einstein equations, we find for three distinct vacuum solutions that the corresponding non-commutative field equations do not have solution to first order in non-commutativity, when the Seiberg-Witten map is eventually inserted. In the attempt of understanding whether or not this is a peculiar property of gravity, in the second part of the paper, the Seiberg-Witten map is considered in the simpler case of Maxwell theory in vacuum in the absence of charges and currents. Once more, no obvious solution of the non-commutative field equations is found, unless the electromagnetic potential depends in a very special way on the wave vector.
