Constant angle surfaces in the Heisenberg group

In this article we generalize the notion of constant angle surfaces in S^2 x R and H^2 x R to general Bianchi-Cartan-Vranceanu spaces, i.e. essentially to three-dimensional homogeneous spaces with a four-dimensional isometry group. We show that these surfaces have constant Gaussian curvature and we give a complete local classification in the Heisenberg group.

Constant angle surfaces in Minkowski space

A constant angle surface in Minkowski space is a spacelike surface whose unit normal vector field makes a constant hyperbolic angle with a fixed timelike vector. In this work we study and classify these surfaces. In particular, we show that they are flat. Next we prove that a tangent developable surface (resp. cylinder, cone) is a constant angle surface if and only if the generating curve is a helix (resp. a straight-line, a circle).

From Golden Spirals to Constant Slope Surfaces

In this paper, we find all constant slope surfaces in the Euclidean 3-space, namely those surfaces for which the position vector of a point of the surface makes constant angle with the normal at the surface in that point. These surfaces could be thought as the bi-dimensional analogue of the generalized helices. Some pictures are drawn by using the parametric equations we found.

On the Geometry of the Second Fundamental Form of Translation Surfaces in E3

In this paper we study the second fundamental form of translation surfaces in E3. We give a non-existence result for polynomial translation surfaces in E3 with vanishing second Gaussian curvature KII. We classify those translation surfaces for which KII and H are proportional. Finally we obtain that there are no II-minimal translation surfaces in the Euclidean 3-space.

Polynomial Translation Weingarten Surfaces in 3-dimensional Euclidean space

In this paper we will classify those translation surfaces in E3 involving polynomials which are Weingarten surfaces. We analyze Weingarten translation surfaces satisfying 2aH + bK = 0. We study also other types of translation surfaces, involving power functions, for which the second Gaussian curvature vanishes.

A New Approach on Constant Angle Surfaces in E^3

In this paper we study constant angle surfaces in Euclidean 3-space. Even that the result is a consequence of some classical results involving the Gauss map (of the surface), we give another approach to classify all surfaces for which the unit normal makes a constant angle with a fixed direction.

Gray Curvature Identities for Almost Contact Metric Manifolds

The aim of this research is the study of Gray curvature identities, introduced by Alfred Gray in \cite{kn:Gra76} for the class of almost hermitian manifolds. As known till now, there is no equivalent for the class of almost contact manifolds. For this purpose we use the Boohby-Wang fibration and the warped manifolds construction in order to establish which identities could be satisfied by an almost contact manifold.

A Note on Doubly Warped Product Contact CR-Submanifolds in trans-Sasakian Manifolds

Warped product CR-submanifolds in Kaehlerian manifolds were intensively studied only since 2001 after the impulse given by B.Y. Chen. Immediately after, another line of research, similar to that concerning Sasakian geometry as the odd dimensional version of Kaehlerian geometry, was developed, namely warped product contact CR-submanifolds in Sasakian manifolds. In this note we proved that there exists no proper doubly warped product contact CR-submanifolds in trans-Sasakian manifolds.

Cheeger Gromoll type metrics on the tangent bundle

In this paper we study a Riemanian metric on the tangent bundle $T(M)$ of a Riemannian manifold $M$ which generalizes the Cheeger Gromoll metric and a compatible almost complex structure which together with the metric confers to $T(M)$ a structure of locally conformal almost Kählerian manifold. We found conditions under which $T(M)$ is almost Kählerian, locally conformal Kählerian or Kählerian or when $T(M)$ has constant sectional curvature or constant scalar curvature.

New structures on the tangent bundles and tangent sphere bundles

In this paper we study a Riemanian metric on the tangent bundle $T(M)$ of a Riemannian manifold $M$ which generalizes Sasaki metric and Cheeger Gromoll metric and a compatible almost complex structure which together with the metric confers to $T(M)$ a structure of locally conformal almost Kählerian manifold. This is the natural generalization of the well known almost Kählerian structure on $T(M)$. We found conditions under which $T(M)$ is almost Kählerian, locally conformal Kählerian or Kählerian or when $T(M)$ has constant sectional curvature or constant scalar curvature. Then we will restrict to the unit tangent bundle and we find an isometry with the tangent sphere bundle (not necessary unitary) endowed with the restriction of the Sasaki metric from $T(M)$. Moreover, we found that this map preserves also the natural almost contact structures obtained from the almost Hermitian ambient structures on the unit tangent bundle and the tangent sphere bundle, respectively.
