On Zeckendorf-Niven numbers and arithmetic progressions

A positive integer is Zeckendorf-Niven (respectively, Lucas-Niven) if it is divisible by the number of summands in its Zeckendorf decomposition (respectively, Lucas decomposition). We show that there exist infinitely many Zeckendorf-Niven numbers and Lucas-Niven numbers in every arithmetic progression. Furthermore, we provide bounds on the maximum number of consecutive Zeckendorf-Niven terms in certain arithmetic progressions.

On Unconditionality and Higher-Order Schreier Unconditionality

Let $X$ be a Banach space, $(e_n)_{n=1}^\infty$ be its basis, and $S_\alpha$ be a Schreier family of order alpha. We introduce Condition A which is a weaker version of the Continuum Hypothesis. Granted Condition A, we show that if the basis $(e_n)$ is $S_\alpha$-unconditional for every countable ordinal alpha, then it is unconditional.

The best two-term underapproximation using numbers from Fibonacci-type sequences

This paper studies the greedy two-term underapproximation of $\theta\in (0,1]$ using reciprocals of numbers from a Fibonacci-type sequence $(c_n)_{n=1}^\infty$. We find the set of $\theta$ whose greedy two-term underapproximation is the best among all two-term underapproximations using $1/c_n$'s. We then derive a neat description of the set when $(c_n)_{n=1}^\infty$ is the Fibonacci sequence or the Lucas sequence.
