Asymptotic Equivalence and Decay Characterization in Second-Grade Fluid Equations

We establish new asymptotic results for the solutions of the second-grade fluids equations and characterize their decay rate in terms of the behavior of the initial data. Moreover, assuming more regularity for the initial data, we study the large-time behavior of these solutions by comparing them to the solutions of the linearized equations. As a consequence, we obtain lower bounds for the solutions. Other auxiliary results of interest are discussed.

A priori estimates for the system modelling nonhomogeneous asymmetric fluids

In this paper, we prove some a priori estimates for a system of partial differential equations arising in the nonstationary flow of a nonhomogeneous incompressible asymmetric fluid in a bounded domain with smooth boundary. The unknowns of the system are the velocity field of the fluid particles, the angular velocity of rotation of the fluid particles, the mass density of the fluid and the pressure distribution. For the density functions we consider the application of the Helmholtz decomposition.

A local uniqueness result for an inverse problem to the system modelling nonhomogeneous asymmetric fluids

In this paper, we prove the local uniqueness of an inverse problem arising in the nonstationary flow of a nonhomogeneous incompressible asymmetric fluid in a bounded domain with smooth boundary. The direct problem is an initial-boundary value problem for a system for the velocity field, the angular velocity of rotation of the fluid particles, the mass density and the pressure distribution. The inverse problem consists in the external force recover assuming an integral measurements on the boundary. We characterize the inverse problem solutions using an operator equation of second kind, which is deduced form the application of the Helmholtz decomposition. We introduce several estimates which implies the hypothesis of the Tikhonov fixed point theorem.

Two-fold Mellin-Barnes transforms of Usyukina-Davydychev functions

In our previous paper [Nucl.Phys. B 870 (2013) 243], we showed that multi-fold Mellin-Barnes (MB) transforms of Usyukina-Davydychev (UD) functions may be reduced to two-fold MB transforms. The MB transforms were written there as polynomials of logarithms of ratios of squares of the external momenta with certain coefficients. We also showed that these coefficients have a combinatoric origin. In this paper, we present an explicit formula for these coefficients. The procedure of recovering the coefficients is based on taking the double-uniform limit in certain series of smooth functions of two variables which is constructed according to a pre-determined iterative way. The result is obtained by using basic methods of mathematical analysis. We observe that the finiteness of the limit of this iterative chain of smooth functions should reflect itself in other mathematical constructions, too, since it is not related in any way to the explicit form of the MB transforms. This finite double-uniform limit is represented in terms of a differential operator with respect to an auxiliary parameter which acts on the integrand of a certain two-fold MB integral. To demonstrate that our result is compatible with original representations of UD functions, we reproduce the integrands of these original integral representations by applying this differential operator to the integrand of the simple integral representation of the scalar triangle four-dimensional integral J(1,1,1-e).
