Tests of CPT Invariance at Neutrino Factories

We investigate possible tests of CPT invariance on the level of event rates at neutrino factories. We do not assume any specific model but phenomenological differences in the neutrino-antineutrino masses and mixing angles in a Lorentz invariance preserving context, such as it could be induced by physics beyond the Standard Model. We especially focus on the muon neutrino and antineutrino disappearance channels in order to obtain constraints on the neutrino-antineutrino mass and mixing angle differences; we found, for example, that the sensitivity $|m_3 - \bar{m}_3| \lesssim 1.9 \cdot 10^{-4} \mathrm{eV}$ could be achieved.

Analytic Approximations for Three Neutrino Oscillation Parameters and Probabilities in Matter

The corrections to neutrino mixing parameters in the presence of matter of constant density are calculated systematically as series expansions in terms of the mass hierarchy $\dm{21}/\dm{31}$. The parameter mapping obtained is then used to find simple, but nevertheless accurate formulas for oscillation probabibilities in matter including CP-effects. Expressions with one to one correspondence to the vacuum case are derived, which are valid for neutrino energies above the solar resonance energy. Two applications are given to show that these results are a useful and powerful tool for analytical studies of neutrino beams passing through the Earth mantle or core: First, the ``disentanglement problem'' of matter and CP-effects in the CP-asymmetry is discussed and second, estimations of the statistical sensitivity to the CP-terms of the oscillation probabilities in neutrino factory experiments are presented.

Matter Enhanced Neutrino Oscillations with a Realistic Earth Density Profile

We have investigated matter enhanced neutrino oscillations with a mantle-core-mantle step function and a realistic Earth matter density profile in both a two and a three neutrino scenario. We found that the realistic Earth matter density profile can be well approximated with the mantle-core-mantle step function and that there could be an influence on the oscillation channel $ν_μ\to ν_τ$ due to resonant enhancement of one of the mixing angles.
