Image Encryption Algorithm Based on Convolutional Neural Networks and Dynamic S-Box Generation

The paper proposes a dynamic approach to image encryption, combining the use of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and classical cryptography to improve the security and flexibility of image encryption. The main concept is to create adaptive Substitution boxes (S-boxes) based on characteristics that are learned by a trained CNN. The CNN-based S-boxes can be relied on for more non-linearity, uniqueness, and input image dependence than the conventional fixed S-boxes because they are susceptible to the linear and differential attacks. This dynamic behaviour enhances the confusion property and makes it more resistant to statistical and structural attacks. The encryption algorithm consists of CNN-based feature extraction and the creation of a personalised S-box to replace the pixels. Entropy, histogram analysis, correlation, NPCR, and UACI enable security assessment of generated S-boxes based on the CNN, indicating that the scheme is more resilient and flexible than traditional ones.

A High-Performance Fractal Encryption Framework and Modern Innovations for Secure Image Transmission

The current digital era, driven by growing threats to data security, requires a robust image encryption technique. Classical encryption algorithms suffer from a trade-off among security, image fidelity, and computational efficiency. This paper aims to enhance the performance and efficiency of image encryption. This is done by proposing Fractal encryption based on Fourier transforms as a new method of image encryption, leveraging state-of-the-art technology. The new approach considered here intends to enhance both security and efficiency in image encryption by comparing Fractal Encryption with basic methods. The suggested system also aims to optimise encryption/ decryption times and preserve image quality. This paper provides an introduction to Image Encryption using the fractal-based method, its mathematical formulation, and its comparative efficiency against publicly known traditional encryption methods. As a result, after filling the gaps identified in previous research, it has significantly improved both its encryption/decryption time and image fidelity compared to other techniques. In this paper, directions for future research and possible improvements are outlined for attention.

AI-Powered Hybrid Intrusion Detection Framework for Cloud Security Using Novel Metaheuristic Optimization

Cybersecurity poses considerable problems to Cloud Computing (CC), especially regarding Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs), facing difficulties with skewed datasets and suboptimal classification model performance. This study presents the Hybrid Intrusion Detection System (HyIDS), an innovative IDS that employs the Energy Valley Optimizer (EVO) for Feature Selection (FS). Additionally, it introduces a novel technique for enhancing the cybersecurity of cloud computing through the integration of machine learning methodologies with the EVO Algorithm. The Energy Valley Optimizer (EVO) effectively diminished features in the CIC-DDoS2019 dataset from 88 to 38 and in the CSE-CIC-IDS2018 data from 80 to 43, significantly enhancing computing efficiency. HyIDS incorporates four Machine Learning (ML) models: Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), Decision Tree (D_Tree), and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN). The proposed HyIDS was assessed utilizing two real-world intrusion datasets, CIC-DDoS2019 and CSE-CIC-IDS2018, both distinguished by considerable class imbalances. The CIC-DDoS2019 dataset has a significant imbalance between DDoS assault samples and legal traffic, while the CSE-CIC-IDS2018 dataset primarily comprises benign traffic with insufficient representation of attack types, complicating the detection of minority attacks. A downsampling technique was employed to balance the datasets, hence improving detection efficacy for both benign and malicious traffic. Twenty-four trials were done, revealing substantial enhancements in categorization accuracy, precision, and recall. Our suggested D_TreeEVO model attained an accuracy rate of 99.13% and an F1 score of 98.94% on the CIC-DDoS2019 dataset, and an accuracy rate of 99.78% and an F1 score of 99.70% on the CSE-CIC-IDS2018 data. These data demonstrate that EVO significantly improves cybersecurity in Cloud Computing (CC).

Benchmarking ChatGPT and DeepSeek in April 2025: A Novel Dual Perspective Sentiment Analysis Using Lexicon-Based and Deep Learning Approaches

This study presents a novel dual-perspective approach to analyzing user reviews for ChatGPT and DeepSeek on the Google Play Store, integrating lexicon-based sentiment analysis (TextBlob) with deep learning classification models, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Bidirectional Long Short Term Memory (Bi LSTM) Networks. Unlike prior research, which focuses on either lexicon-based strategies or predictive deep learning models in isolation, this study conducts an extensive investigation into user satisfaction with Large Language Model (LLM) based applications. A Dataset of 4,000 authentic user reviews was collected, which were carefully preprocessed and subjected to oversampling to achieve balanced classes. The balanced test set of 1,700 Reviews were used for model testing. Results from the experiments reveal that ChatGPT received significantly more positive sentiment than DeepSeek. Furthermore, deep learning based classification demonstrated superior performance over lexicon analysis, with CNN outperforming Bi-LSTM by achieving 96.41 percent accuracy and near perfect classification of negative reviews, alongside high F1-scores for neutral and positive sentiments. This research sets a new methodological standard for measuring sentiment in LLM-based applications and provides practical insights for developers and researchers seeking to improve user-centric AI system design.

Enhanced cast-128 with adaptive s-box optimization via neural networks for image protection

An improved CAST-128 encryption algorithm, which is done by implementing chaos-based adaptive S-box generation using Logistic sine Map (LSM), has been provided in this paper because of the increasing requirements of efficient and smart image encryption mechanisms. The study aims to address the drawbacks of static S-box models commonly used in traditional cryptographic systems, which are susceptible to linear and differential attacks. In the proposed scheme, the dynamic, non-linear, invertible, and highly cryptographic strength S-boxes are generated through a hybrid chaotic system that may have high non-linearity, strong and rigorous avalanche characteristics, and low differential uniformity. The process here is that the LSM is used to produce S-boxes having key-dependent parameters that are stuffed into the CAST-128 structure to encrypt the image in a block-wise manner. The performance of the encryption is assessed utilizing a set of standard grayscale images. The metrics that are used to evaluate the security are entropy, NPCR, UACI, PSNR, and histogram analysis. Outcomes indicate that randomness, resistance to statistical attacks, and country of encryption are significantly improved compared to the original CAST-128. The study is theoretically and practically relevant since it presents a lightweight S-box generation approach driven by chaos, which can increase the level of robustness of the image encryptions without enlisting machine learning. The system may be applied to secure communications, surveillance systems, and medical image protection on a real-time basis.
